Box Office: 'Animal' Scored Second Biggest Second Weekend In Hindi

Mumbai, December 11 - Ranbir Kapoor-led action drama Animal scored a huge 87.56 crores net collection in Hindi in its second weekend, according to producer T-Series. In all versions, the mega-blockbuster minted approx. 93.70 crores net collection. ## Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal fell short of Sunny Deol-fronted "Gadar 2" which remained the biggest second-weekend grosser with approx. 90.50 crores net collection. "Animal", at once, looked like it would not only become the biggest second-weekend grosser but also become the first film to score 100 crores, but the collection on Saturday and Sunday came lower than expected to keep at number 2. ## Animal also scored the 4th biggest second Sunday and the biggest ever for an A-rated film with 33.53 crores net collection in Hindi. The first three spots are occupied by Gadar 2 (38.90 crores), Baahubali 2 (34.50 crores), and Jawan (34.26 crores) while the 5th biggest second Sunday belongs to Dangal (30.69 crores). ## As said, Animal is the first A-rated Indian blockbuster to gross 400, 500, 600, and 700 crores at the worldwide box office. In its first 10 days, the movie minted approx. 717 crores worldwide, including approx. 203 crores overseas and 514 crores in India alone. Mumbai, December 10 - Directed Sandeep Reddy Vanga's action drama Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor has crossed 500 crores gross collection at the domestic box office on its 10th day, becoming the 4th film of the year and 10th overseas to achieve the milestone. ## Animal is the first film of Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and director Sandeep Vanga to enter India's 500 crores gross club. It has created history by becoming the first adult-rated film to achieve this rare box office feat. ## SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali" was the first film to hit 500 crores gross in 2015 and since then, 3 more South Indian, 5 Bollywood films, and one Tamil film have done this. Mumbai, December 9 - Ranbir Kapoor-led Animal is proving to be an unstoppable force with its record-breaking run at the box office. After commencing the second weekend with the biggest second Friday ever in Hindi, the action drama has again the biggest second Saturday collection by a huge margin. ## The Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial was in full force on its second Saturday and scored an estimated 35 crores net in Hindi and can go up further depending on how strong the jump is in single screens. This takes the total collection of the film to 357+ crores net in Hindi in just 9 days. ## Animal scored an estimated 37-38 crores net in all versions, pushing the total collection in the vicinity of 400 crores net through the second Saturday. The second weekend is now looking to finish in the range of 105-110 crores net as Sunday is expected to be over 40 crores easily. ## Meanwhile, the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Sam Bahadur is finding its audiences despite the Animal juggernaut and has turned out to be a success story at the box office. After the good second Friday, the biographical drama witnessed a fantastic jump of nearly 100% for an estimated 6.50-7 crores net on its second Saturday which pushes the total collection to around 49 crores net. ## As expected, Sam Bahadur is heading for 17-18 crores net the second weekend which will be good numbers for the film. Mumbai, December 9 - Earlier this year, it was reported that Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor would be headlining Pooja Entertainment's mythological film based on the epic Mahabharata. Kannada filmmaker Sachin Ravi, known for directing Rakshit Shetty's action adventure, "Avane Srimannarayana" (2019), was said to be roped in to direct this magnum opus. ## Now, according to a report by Peepingmoon.com, Shahid Kapoor will be playing the role of great warrior Ashwatthama. He was the son of Guru Dronacharya and had received the boon of immortality from Lord Shiva himself. Shahid is said to have signed on to the film and will undergo intense physical training to embody the character of Ashwatthama. ## It is said that Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani of Pooja Entertainment have been on this ambitious project since early this year and putting their efforts into making this film a visual wonder and something that has never been attempted before in Indian cinema. ## The film is currently being written and is expected to go on floors by August 2024 and have a grand release by 2025. Mumbai, December 9 - The first teaser of Hrithik Roshan-fronted aerial action thriller Fighter received a unanimous positive reception from audiences which has raised anticipation for the movie that is scheduled to release on January 25, 2024, during Republic Day weekend. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, the teaser of "Fighter" scored 23.3+ million views and approx. 400K likes on YouTube, making it among the most-watched outright Bollywood movie teasers in the first 24 hours. It is trending at number 1 on the platform. ## The 1 minute and 13 seconds action-packed promo is the third most-watched Bollywood film teaser, behind Shah Rukh Khan's "Dunki" teaser aka Dunki Drop 1 which garnered around 36.80 million views and Ajay Devgn's "Maidaan" (29+ million) in the first 24 hours. ## ## Produced by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures, the film stars Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor in the leading roles, and serves as the first film in a planned aerial action franchise. Mumbai, December 7 - Animal concludes the first week with a historic collection of around 340 crores net in all versions. The numbers are all-time highest for an adult-rated Indian movie and this has set up the stage for another huge weekend at the domestic box office. ## The Ranbir Kapoor-led action drama scored an estimated 25-26 crores net in all versions on its first Thursday. In Hindi, it earned around 24 crores net, as per the early estimates. The total Hindi collection has crossed 300 crores net at approx. 302 crores in the first week. ## Animal will again be the first choice of moviegoers in the second weekend which is expected to be over 80 crores net and can go up to 90-95 crores net. The movie is likely to enter the 500 crores net club by the third weekend and is also expected to do well during the Christmas weekend despite the arrival of the two most-awaited films.## While Animal is going bonkers at the box office, Vicky Kaushal-led Sam Bahadur also has a good first-week collection with very good hold during the week days.
