Box Office: SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' Is A Blockbuster In Japan
Tokyo, January 19 - SS Rajamouli's period action drama RRR is continuing with its historic run and turns a blockbuster at the Japan box office.## Starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, "RRR" has completed 94 days in Japanese cinemas, grossing ¥650 million or 40.65 crores so far. Over the last few days, the collection in the anime country has jumped, thanks to the film's win at Golden Globe and its release in Dolby cinema and increase in IMAX screens. ## The Oscars nominations, which are scheduled to take place on January 24th, could give a further boost to the "RRR" collection in Japan. The movie is expected to score a couple of nominations at Oscars 2023.## Produced by DVV Entertainment, "RRR" has so far scored 417K admissions in as many days. It is the biggest Indian film, both in terms of gross collection and footfalls in Japan. It will now hit in Dolby Cinema format across the country from January 20. Since its Dolby release, "RRR" has grossed massive approx. ¥67 million in just three days.## "RRR" is proving to be a long horse race and it can't be predicated where it will end its run. Considering the recent big jump, the movie should be able to cross ¥700 million, a record which will be tough to break.
