The New Day's Xavier Woods Wants To Celebrate 10th Anniversary With NJPW Match

Xavier Woods, one-third of the legendary New Day, has revealed that he would love to celebrate the group's 10th anniversary with a match in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). ## Speaking on the My Love Letter to Wrestling podcast, Woods said that he would like to spend a week in Tokyo, visiting arcades and competing in NJPW matches. ## "I feel like the ten-year anniversary for New Day, my magic wand wish would be we get to go to Tokyo for a week. Spend time in Tokyo arcades for a full week hanging out," Woods said. "And then, as much as we can get, if we can work at other places now. I'm trying to wrestle everybody." ## When asked who he would like to wrestle from other companies, Woods said that he has a long list of dream opponents. ## "There are so many names on the list. It feels weird to start anywhere because I want to start everywhere. If we could legit branch out and wrestle other teams, obviously, the Young Bucks. We'd love a six-man with the Elite. There are so many people. I can't name them." ## Five years ago, New Day battled The Elite (Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks) in an epic Street Fighter V showdown. The Elite were victorious in the trios arcade action with Omega defeating Woods in the finale. Woods hasn't competed since the May 15 episode of WWE Raw when he lost to Dominik Mysterio. However, he has been active on social media, teasing potential matches with NJPW stars like Will Ospreay and Kota Ibushi. ## It remains to be seen if Woods will get his wish to celebrate the New Day's 10th anniversary with a match in NJPW. However, there is no doubt that he would be a huge asset to the company. ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

Matt initiated the action alongside Austin, prompting a tremendous chorus of chants demanding their elimination. They engaged in a collar and elbow tie-up, maneuvering towards the corner with Matt taking control. They broke apart cleanly before locking up once again, with Matt guiding Austin back to his corner to tag in Jeff. ## The tag team siren blared, signaling the entry of all four men into the ring as the Hardys unleashed a double-team assault on the Gunns. Jeff executed a breathtaking Whisper in the Wind, resulting in a near fall. Jeff was whipped into the ropes, but managed to cling onto them. However, from the apron, Colton struck him, disrupting his balance. ## Colton tagged in and commenced stomping Jeff in the corner, mocking his dance moves to entertain the crowd. Colton executed a suplex on Jeff, earning a two-count. The Gunns started employing rapid tags to dominate Jeff and prevent him from making a tag. Eventually, Jeff countered with a corkscrew kick, creating an opening for him to escape and tag in Matt. Matt entered the ring with a burst of energy, swiftly neutralizing his opponents. Concluding his offensive flurry, Matt sealed the sequence with a Twist of Fate on Austin, nearly securing the victory. However, Colton intervened, placing Austin's feet on the ropes to break the pinfall attempt. ## Colton executed a guillotine maneuver on the top rope, and Austin capitalized by covering Matt while leveraging his feet on the ropes, resulting in a two-count. Matt attempted another Twist of Fate, but Colton held onto his brother, foiling the maneuver. Colton tagged in, and Jeff capitalized on the opportunity to launch a relentless assault on both Gunns, culminating in a double DDT. Jeff followed up with a double leg drop on them. Subsequently, Jeff executed a Twist of Fate on Colton. Climbing to the top turnbuckle, Jeff's momentum was abruptly halted when members of the Bullet Club Gold stormed the ring. Jay White distracted the referee, while Juice Robinson knocked Jeff off the top rope, allowing the Gunns to execute their signature move, the 3:10 to Yuma, securing the pinfall and emerging victorious. ## WINNER: The Gunns ## Mark Briscoe vs Jeff Jarrett in a concession stand brawl ## Mark launched a brutal assault on Jeff, pummeling him relentlessly as they traversed through the concourse. Mark strategically positioned a table against a sturdy pillar, forcefully hurling Jeff into it, followed by a vicious strike from a trash can. Their fierce confrontation continued near the original concession stand, where an unexpected turn of events unfolded. A concession stand worker, none other than Karen Jarrett, made her presence known by dousing Mark with a cascade of mustard. ## With Jeff precariously placed on a table, Mark seized a ladder, intending to escalate the punishment. However, just as Mark ascended to the pinnacle, Sonjay Dutt materialized and forcefully propelled him off the ladder, sending him crashing through the table—a moment captured in a picture-in-picture display. ## When the broadcast resumed in full screen, the skirmish had migrated to ringside. Jay Lethal had joined the fray, uniting with Jeff to deliver a merciless beating on Mark within the squared circle. Amid the chaos, Jay Lethal engaged in a heated exchange with an individual situated at the timekeeper's table, only for the revelation to expose Poppa Briscoe as the instigator. Displaying immense strength, Poppa Briscoe executed a devastating choke slam, obliterating Jay Lethal through a nearby table. Meanwhile, inside the ring, Poppa Briscoe steamrolled through Jarrett, but Karen cunningly retaliated with a debilitating low blow. ## Mark resumed his assault on Jeff, positioning himself for the formidable Jay Driller finisher. However, the scene took an unexpected turn as Satnam Singh stormed the ring, unleashing a powerful choke slam on Mark. The chaos escalated further with the sudden arrival of Christopher Daniels, the Best Friends, and the Lucha Brothers, resulting in an all-out brawl on the arena floor. Amidst the bedlam, Penta delivered a devastating super kick to Jeff, allowing Mark to capitalize swiftly, executing a skillfully executed schoolboy pinfall for the victorious culmination of the match. ## WINNER: Mark Briscoe ## Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, and Minoru Suzuki vs Action Andretti, AR Fox, and Darius Martin ## The match commenced with Sammy engaging Andretti in an energetic exchange, transitioning swiftly from a collar and elbow tie-up to a side headlock, eventually delving into captivating mat wrestling techniques. The dynamic intensified as both competitors reached a stalemate, unleashing a flurry of kicks. Suzuki and Martin were then tagged into the fray, setting the stage for an awe-inspiring chop fest. Astonishingly, Suzuki exhibited an imperviousness to the chops and forearms, retaliating with a powerful forearm strike that caused Martin to crumble to the mat.## Jericho entered the ring, joining forces with Suzuki to showcase the iconic Le Sex Gods pose. Fox was tagged in, propelling Jericho towards the corner, where he absorbed a fierce lariat followed by a resounding dropkick. While Fox missed a leap from the top rope, he swiftly recovered, executing a well-executed mule kick. Jericho cunningly utilized the referee as a shield, prompting Fox to halt his attack momentarily. Taking advantage of the distraction, Jericho seized the opportunity to clothesline Fox, courtesy of a timely knee strike from Sammy on the outside. The broadcast seamlessly transitioned to a picture-in-picture view. Upon returning to full screen, Sammy and Fox found themselves locked in combat within the squared circle, with Sammy effectively preventing Fox from making a tag. Jericho was subsequently tagged back into the match, as was Andretti, setting the stage for a high-octane exchange as they traversed the ropes. Despite enduring a barrage of heavy shots from Jericho, Andretti showcased his agility, leaping onto Sammy outside the ring before delivering a shotgun dropkick to Jericho upon reentry. In an attempt to execute a split-legged moonsault, Andretti fell victim to Jericho's evasion, with Suzuki stealthily entering the ring from behind to apply a sleeper hold on Andretti.## Darius intervened, delivering a powerful strike to Suzuki, breaking the hold and igniting a face-off between the two competitors. Notably, Suzuki masterfully executed a dramatic "Slowly I turn" motion before flooring Darius with a devastating maneuver. Suzuki then endeavored to execute a piledriver on Andretti, only to be interrupted by Fox's well-timed enzuigiri. Sammy capitalized on the chaos, executing a double DDT from the top rope on Fox and Andretti. A struggle for control ensued between Fox and Jericho, leading to Fox being knocked off the apron, and Andretti seizing the opportunity to roll up Jericho, resulting in a close two-count. Andretti continued his offensive onslaught, launching a leaping kick from the ropes and following up with an impressive shooting star press, garnering another near fall. ## The match progressed with each competitor taking turns showcasing their skills in a thrilling sequence. Ultimately, Darius culminated the sequence with a hard-hitting DDT on Jericho, nearly securing the victory. However, Jericho swiftly seized control, capturing Darius mid-air as he leaped from the top rope, ensnaring him in the formidable Lion Tamer submission hold. Overwhelmed by the excruciating pain, Darius had no choice but to tap out, leading to Jericho emerging triumphant. ## WINNERS: Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, and Minoru Suzuki ## Renee Paquette strides purposefully into the ring, poised to inquire about the remarkable faceoff with Sting that unfolded the previous week. Jericho, however, dismisses the moment as momentous for everyone except himself, astutely recognizing Sting's selfish and egotistical nature. Unfazed, he boldly challenges Sting and Darby to secure a formidable partner and engage in a riveting showdown against the formidable Le Suzuki Gods at the prestigious Forbidden Door event. ## And lo and behold, the arena erupts as the iconic figure known as Sting, accompanied by the enigmatic Darby Allin, emerges dramatically into the ring. Sting concedes the significance of the encounter but expresses his desire for an intimate conversation with Jericho before consenting to the challenge. Their collective resolve solidifies, with a warning issued to Jericho that his antagonistic behavior has amassed a considerable number of adversaries, yet the identity of their chosen partner remains shrouded in mystery, to be unveiled exclusively at the Forbidden Door event. ## Anticipation reaches fever pitch as Tony unveils the drawings for the elusive Eliminator Tournament, meticulously pairing disparate individuals. Regrettably, the revelation of the chosen duos is withheld, leaving spectators yearning for resolution. ## This episode of Dynamite unfolds with a breakneck pace, surpassing even its characteristic swiftness, rendering it an exhilarating whirlwind that leaves spectators breathless and struggling to keep pace. In response to the Blackpool Combat Club's audacious challenge, the formidable Elite, composed of unparalleled talent, accepts the gauntlet. Yet, in a remarkable twist, the indomitable Eddie Kingston, apprehensive of their trustworthiness, leverages his autonomy to select a fifth participant who will unwaveringly support his cause. ## Adam Cole, bearing the mantle of confidence, ascends the ring, clutching the microphone with conviction. Reflecting on his valiant efforts to overcome MJF, he bemoans the absence of a definitive victor, alluding to the mutual inconclusiveness of their encounter. Inviting MJF to join him in the squared circle, Cole implores his rival to discuss the prospects of an imminent rematch.## MJF obliges, making his grand entrance, and amidst the vociferous disdain from the crowd, initially indulges in sardonic jests. Nonetheless, he acknowledges Cole's resurgence, graciously extending his congratulations. However, he cunningly insinuates that, had time not expired, he would have emerged triumphant—an assertion contrary to the truth. Consequently, MJF brazenly declares that no rematch shall transpire, professing his concern for Cole's well-being. The defiant Cole retaliates, proposing an alternative: a visceral confrontation bereft of the confines of a regulated contest. ## In a sudden turn of events, Tony Schiavone interjects, brimming with an announcement that demands attention. Despite the verbal jousting between Cole and MJF, Tony reveals that fate has interwoven their destinies, designating them as tag team partners. The crowd roars in disbelief as this unexpected union comes to fruition. ## Unforeseen on the horizon, the revered Hiroshi Tanahashi materializes on the grand screen, issuing a bold challenge to MJF, crossing the boundaries of the Forbidden Door. Sensing an opportunity to goad MJF into accepting any challenge, Cole skillfully orchestrates the crowd to chant "Coward." Overwhelmed by the relentless pressure, MJF acquiesces, thereby allowing Cole to exert his persuasive prowess over his adversary. ## With mounting excitement, the brackets for Owen Hart Tournament are unveiled. ## Orange Cassidy and Katsuyori Shibata vs Zack Sabre Jr. and Daniel Garcia ## Shibata and Cassidy share a respectful fist bump, while Garcia and Sabre refuse to engage in a handshake, revealing the underlying tension between them.
