Trish Stratus Not Happy With WWE's New Plans For Her Match With Becky Lynch

Toronto, 4 August 2023 - WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus has responded to the company's new plans for her match with Becky Lynch on the August 14 episode of Raw. ## Although it appeared the feud was building towards a big match at SummerSlam, WWE surprisingly announced this week on Raw (July 31) that Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus would take place on the August 14 episode of Raw in Winnipeg, Canada. ## On-screen authority figure Adam Pearce claimed that Trish, being a proud Canadian, would have the "home field advantage" in the match. However, Trish herself responded on Twitter, pointing out that she is actually from Toronto, not Winnipeg, rendering the supposed advantage meaningless. ## In a humorous insult, Trish sarcastically checked her schedule, implying she wasn't even sure if she'd be available on the 14th. She also called out Adam Pearce, referring to him as an "idiot" for getting her hometown wrong. ## "Checking to see if I’m even available on the 14th… And @ScrapDaddyAP, Winnipeg is NOT a home field advantage. I’m from Toronto, you idiot," Tris stated the following.## Checking to see if I’m even available on the 14th… And @ScrapDaddyAP, Winnipeg is NOT a home field advantage. I’m from Toronto, you idiot.Hair & Makeup by @muavee 💖 pic.twitter.com/G4WQ1GO9Qw— Trish Stratus (@trishstratuscom) August 3, 2023 ## Despite Trish taking the decision in stride, there are reports of "growing frustrations" within WWE's women's division due to the match being pushed back from its originally planned spot at SummerSlam. Additionally, the removal of another match between WWE Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez has added to the dissatisfaction among the roster. ## There is a possibility that the Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez match might still be added at the last minute, but it has not been confirmed yet. WWE claims that time constraints are the reason for these changes. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk For More Wrestling News...

Ronda Rousey's SummerSlam Match Against Shayna Baszler Could Be Her Last In WWE

Riverside, 4 August 2023 - Ronda Rousey made her return to WWE during the 2022 Royal Rumble event, where she emerged victorious in the Women's Royal Rumble match. Since then, she has been a central figure, holding both the singles championship and the tag team championship with her partner, Shayna Baszler. ## Their reign as WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, however, came to an unexpected end at the WWE Money in the Bank premium live event. During the match against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, Shayna shockingly betrayed Rousey by attacking her from behind and eventually putting her to sleep with a chokehold. ## This betrayal set the stage for a heated feud between the two former allies, as Rousey wanted to settle the score with Shayna before taking another break from WWE. Reports suggest that Rousey's current WWE deal has a specific end date. The long-awaited showdown between Rousey and Baszler will take place this Saturday at SummerSlam, where they will face off in an MMA Rules match.## According to Dave Meltzer's latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there's uncertainty about whether this will be Rousey's last match in WWE for the time being. Nevertheless, her departure is imminent, as the storyline had to be rushed due to the circumstances. The reason for keeping the specifics of the MMA Rules match under wraps is that they hadn't finalized the exact stipulations yet. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk For More Wrestling News...

Afa's understanding of the importance of the lei growing up is mentioned. ## Paul reaffirms that Roman Reigns is the reigning, defending undisputed WWE Universal Champion and the Tribal Chief for nearly three years. Jey points out that Paul is using the same manipulative tactics on Solo that he used on Jey. ## Paul Heyman tries to talk to Solo, but Solo refuses to move from his position. Jey takes matters into his own hands and superkicks Solo through the ropes, sending him to the floor. Jey tells Paul to let Solo know they will meet later that night. ## We look back at last week's intense showdown between Santos Escobar and Rey Mysterio, where they battled for the opportunity to face Austin Theory for the US Title. Unfortunately, Rey suffered from a nasty whiplash during the match and is currently recovering at home. ## Cole informs us about Rey's injury, stating that he's recuperating after the tough encounter. ## Kayla catches up with Austin Theory, inquiring about his upcoming match against Santos Escobar. Tonight, however, he has a match against Cameron Grimes. Austin confidently states that he's going to crush Grimes' dreams in their encounter tonight. ## Austin Theory Vs Cameron Grimes in a Non Title Match ## As they lock up, Theory takes control and sends Grimes to the mat. Before he goes on to win the battle royal, he plans to share the Grayson Waller rub with not just one woman, but two! With that announcement, he welcomes his special guests, Bayley and Iyo Sky, to join him in the ring. ## Amidst the tense situation, Bayley interjects, calling Waller an idiot for assuming that the Genius in the Bank would divulge their strategy. She firmly asserts that their focus is on Iyo Sky's upcoming match against Zelina, and they won't be sidetracked. ## Suddenly, Shotzi's voice echoes through the arena's sound system, and Waller seems pleased with the reaction he triggered. He taunts Bayley, asking her why she's afraid of Shotzi. Bayley quickly denies any fear and claims that she isn't bothered by Shotzi's presence. ## Unexpectedly, Shotzi's entrance music hits, and Bayley assumes it's Waller playing tricks again. However, to her shock, Shotzi is actually standing right behind her in the ring. Bayley senses her looming presence but is unable to react in time. Shotzi strikes Bayley with a powerful punch and then pulls out a set of clippers, causing Bayley to flee in fear. ## The scene shifts to the backstage area, where the tank is visible. Iyo approaches it, seemingly contemplating something. ## Meanwhile, Shotzi continues her pursuit of Bayley, and a chaotic chase ensues through the backstage area. To everyone's surprise, when the camera pans to the tank, it's revealed that Zelina Vega is inside, not Shotzi as expected. ## Singles Match: Iyo Sky Vs Zelina Vega ## The match is already in progress as Vega executes a jawbreaker on Iyo. Both women then deliver simultaneous clotheslines, sending them both to the canvas. Vega follows up with a series of forearms and tosses Iyo into the turnbuckles. Relentless, Vega continues with punches in the corner and follows up with a flying clothesline, nearly getting a pinfall. ## Vega whips Iyo into the ropes, but Iyo counters with a boot to the face. Undeterred, Vega goes for a Meteora off the turnbuckles but only manages a near fall. Vega attempts a kick and then tries to execute Code Red, but Iyo manages to escape. Iyo retaliates with a butterfly backbreaker and follows up with a running double knee strike. She then climbs the turnbuckles, aiming for a moonsault. ## Bayley and Shotzi reappear at the stage area, causing a distraction. Bayley avoids the loud clippers and escapes. Iyo becomes stunned and confused by the sudden interruption. Taking advantage of the situation, Vega capitalizes with a powerbomb followed by a Code Red, successfully securing the three-count victory. ## WINNER: Zelina Vega ## Singles Match: Solo Sikoa (with Paul Heyman) Vs Jey Uso ## As they lock up, Solo forcefully shoves Jey away, exchanging some words with his brother. Jey retaliates with a waist lock and a side head lock. Solo counters with a powerful shoulder tackle, followed by a forearm strike and a headbutt. Resorting to dirty tactics, Solo chokes Jey against the ropes and rakes his face. He then delivers a back elbow, causing Jey to roll out of the ring, with Solo closely pursuing him. ## Solo taunts Jey by claiming he won't make it to SummerSlam. He hurls Jey into the announce table, removing its cover. Attempting a uranage through the table, Solo's plan is foiled when Jey escapes and counters with a superkick, sending Solo crashing onto the announce table. Jey doesn't let up and follows up with a suicide dive. ## After the commercial break, Solo employs a nerve hold to gain control. The footage during the break shows Solo executing a belly-to-belly suplex on Jey. Jey fights back with punches and forces Solo to the floor by dropping down. However, Solo strikes back with a punch while Jey attempts a suicide dive, then follows up with a Samoan drop. He taunts Jey as he delivers more strikes, but Jey manages to counter with punches of his own. ## Jey avoids Solo's running hip strike in the corner. Limerick, 3 August 2023 - Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus were initially scheduled to face off at Summerslam, but unfortunately, the match won't be taking place as planned. The reasons given for the change were rather underwhelming. ## According to Fightful Select, a "good reason," hints at a possible physical concern. However, upon investigation, the report states that both women were in good health and available for the event. The actual reason behind the match's postponement became clear during the post-WWE Raw show. WWE management has been insistent on limiting the number of matches and the duration of Pay-Per-View shows. ## Consequently, some matches that were initially slated for Summerslam were relocated to other events. In the case of Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus, it was decided that the match's time would have been severely restricted on Summerslam, prompting the decision to move it to a future episode of Raw. WWE Superstar Becky Lynch Shares Details About Her Upcoming Autobiography

Limerick, 3 August 2023 - During her interview with Richard Deitsch on the Sports Media Podcast, Becky Lynch provided an update on her forthcoming autobiography. The book, titled "Toast And Me: A Study in Seven Volumes," promises to give readers a candid and honest portrayal of Lynch's life journey both inside and outside the wrestling ring. ## The writing process has been a transformative experience for Lynch, granting her the freedom to express her thoughts and memories without fear of judgment. Lynch spoke of her initial enjoyment during the writing process, where she poured her thoughts onto paper and delved into her memories without external influences. However, she soon came to realize that writing was a sophisticated craft, prompting her to undertake a year-long writing course to enhance her skills. ## In her forthcoming autobiography, Lynch plans to delve into the depths of her personal experiences and share the intimate details of her life. Her dedication to honing her writing skills demonstrates her commitment to delivering an engaging and compelling narrative for her fans and readers alike. ## "We all think of ourselves as the hero of our own story. At some points, you look at yourself and go, 'oh, no, I was the asshole.' Things like that, where you have to be really honest with yourself, is quite humbling. I did love the writing process, especially the early writing process where it was a pure, 'let me get all my thoughts, ideas and memories down on paper. Let me write without the moral police being on my shoulder, without the public judgment on my shoulder, let me just write for me.' I found that experience to be my favorite part. When it came to the editing process and going back and looking at everything," she said. ## "I did a year-long writing course. I did write it myself, and loved it, but realized I didn't know anything about writing. Have you heard of the [Dunning–Kruger effect], where you start something, and you've never done it in your life, 'I am awesome at this, I'm so good, I'm the best, I'm a prodigy, I'm a natural.' That's how I felt about writing. Then, I did this writing course because I wanted to be good at it, and I found out how little I knew about writing, and it's very intimidating. It was a round circle program with other people reading your work and giving feedback, and it was very helpful. You find out what's working and what isn't working, but you also find out how much you don't know and you're learning. ## I love that process too because I love trying to improve on something, especially when I get passionate about something and I want to be good at it. I really love writing. It's something I've done my whole life. My dad had me writing in journals since as long as I could write. I've always found that to be almost meditative. Writing a book was a great process. I'm in the editing process, the late editing process. I had some problems with editors, some people leaving the company. Now, I have great editors, and we're off to the races. Hopefully, it'll be out early next year." ## Transcription Via Fightful ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk For More Wrestling News...

WWE SummerSlam 2023: One Match Still To Be Announced, But It Could Be A Surprise

Detroit, 3 August 2023 - The WWE SummerSlam card is almost complete, with one match yet to be announced. The top matches confirmed are Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns facing Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat Match, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins taking on Finn Balor, and Brock Lesnar squaring off against Cody Rhodes. ## However, the much-anticipated match between WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez has not been officially announced yet. On Monday's episode of Raw, Adam Pearce informed Rodriguez that she will get a title shot against Ripley once she is medically cleared. ## Dave Meltzer mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that the match is still in the plans for the show, but the delay in announcing it is due to WWE waiting for Rhea's clearance. ## The delay in announcing some matches is also attributed to WWE's time constraints for the event. With a likely time limit of 3 1/2 to 4 hours, the company doesn't want to rush through matches and wants to give each bout sufficient time. So, they are keeping the possibility open and may add the Ripley vs. Rodriguez match if Rhea gets medically cleared in time for the event. ## “We still don’t know the situation with Rhea and Raquel. No [the match is not off], as soon as they clear her. They could clear her the day of the show and throw it in there. There is a time constraint. I was told that part of the reason why some of these matches that were originally earmarked for the show are off is that they have a time limit on the show, which I’m gonna guess is 3 1/2 to 4 hours, and they didn’t want to short-change matches. I don’t know when it will be. They left it open. If she gets cleared, in storyline obviously, storyline cleared they can do the surprise match the day of the show." Transcription Via WrestlingNews.co. ## SummerSlam 2023 Current Lineup Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar: Singles match ## Seth "Freakin" Rollins (c) vs. Finn Bálor: Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship ## Asuka (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Bianca Belair: Triple threat match for the WWE Women's Championship ## Roman Reigns (c) (with Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa) vs. Jey Uso: Tribal Combat for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and recognition of Tribal Chief ## Ricochet vs. Logan Paul: Singles match ## Gunther (c) (with Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci) vs. Drew McIntyre: Singles match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship ## Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler: MMA Rules match ## SummerSlam Battle Royal: TBC-man battle royal ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk For More Wrestling News...

Cody Rhodes Comments On Who He Wants To Win The Jey Uso vs. Roman Reigns Main Event At WWE SummerSlam

Detroit, 3 August 2023 - At SummerSlam, "Main Event" Jey Uso will look to beat the most dominant champion of the modern era, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns when they collide in a Tribal Combat! ## Amidst fervent anticipation from WWE fans, the forthcoming clash between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso is being hotly anticipated. Notably, Cody Rhodes, one of WWE's prominent figures, has cast his prediction regarding the victor of this fierce encounter. ## Having the spotlight at WrestleMania marked Rhodes' greatest validation yet, but emerging victorious in the WrestleMania main event remains an elusive achievement that Rhodes and his fellow WWE roster members are relentlessly pursuing. During WrestleMania 39's main event, Rhodes faced Roman Reigns in a divisive manner and suffered defeat, extending Reigns' remarkable world title reign to over 1,000 days. ## Throughout that period, Reigns had managed to maintain an untarnished record by not being pinned or forced to submit, until Jey secured a pinfall victory over him during the Bloodline Civil War at Money in the Bank. Now, with SummerSlam on the horizon, Jey sets his sights on Reigns' WWE Universal Championship, and intriguingly enough, Cody Rhodes is in full support of this endeavor. While speaking in a sit-down interview with Forbes, Cody Rhodes picked the winner of Jey Uso Vs. Roman Reigns. ## “I’m rooting for Jey,” said Rhodes when asked who he wants to win the Jey Uso vs. Roman Reigns main event. The first thing I did when Jey won is to just recognize, right then and there, the competitive nature of the moment. That, yes, that could have been me, but after acknowledging that up front, I was then able to get that out of the way and really be happy for Jey. ## I don’t like rooting against people. I like seeing people succeed, and I know that I do not wish for people to root against me, so I try not to put that energy out there either. So to see Jey get such a big win, one that he earned, was something that made me proud knowing his journey and how hard he had to work to get there.” ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk For More Wrestling News...
