Serena Deeb Reveals She Had been Suffering From Seizures, But Is Now Cleared To Wrestle

Stamford, November 30 - Serena Deeb, absent from the ring since October 2022 despite her regular appearances on AEW Dark and contributions to AEW Dynamite, shared uplifting news in a recent Instagram video. ## She disclosed that she had been grappling with seizures but happily announced that she has received medical clearance to resume her wrestling career. ## "Since last October, I've had a series of three unprovoked seizures. This has been a really dramatic time period for me and has affected my career and life. In a lot of ways, it's been really scary for me. I've seen a lot of different doctors and had every test imaginable. For the longest time, nobody could tell me why this happened. ## "Being out of the ring has been really challenging for me. I love professional wrestling with everything in me and I miss performing and wrestling. ## "I've kept this very private and then I started learning more about seizures and how much more common it is and I never realized how many more people experience seizures. I have so much empathy. I know how scary it is and I just want to send a message that you're not alone and there is always light at the end of the tunnel. I want to encourage you. A big reason why I wanted to talk to you today is because I do have some news. It's good news, it's great news. I saw my neurologist recently and he told me that I've recovered, I'm healthy, and I am officially cleared to wrestle. That means I'm ready to return. Hopefully, the next time you guys see me, I'll be in the ring doing what I do best. I can't wait to wrestle and can't wait to show you what the Professor, what Serena Deeb is made of." ## Serena Deeb's AEW career has been a remarkable journey of reinvention and resurgence. New York, 27 November - Tony Khan has explained how he helped to secure additional performances by Taylor Swift at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Swift is set to headline multiple shows at the iconic venue in June and August, including performances on August 16, 17, 19 and 20.## It's worth noting that AEW All In is scheduled for August 25 at Wembley Stadium. Speaking with the Daily Mail, Khan has revealed that he played a role in ensuring extra shows for Taylor Swift at the venue. ## "If you look at the calendar of Wembley Stadium events for August of 2024, you'll see that scheduled ahead of us is Taylor Swift and Taylor Swift being scheduled at Wembley Stadium ahead of AEW is a big deal. And I have some interesting stories about how all of this came to be and where we're at. It's very, very fun. So, when Wembley approached us about our load-in and about these Taylor Swift shows, there was an opportunity for them to add more shows and we are going to do everything we can to abbreviate our load in time. ## "So basically, they came to us and said it would help us out a lot if you could load in your show faster because we'd have the opportunity to have more Taylor Swift shows, and could you guys do that? And we said, well, it'll be costly and very challenging, and we really would like to help you out. And so yeah, I will. And I think there's so many great Taylor Swift fans and Wembley's been great to us. We have a great relationship and it's going to cost more, and we will double our efforts and hopefully score points with a lot of great fans and a great community of Taylor Swift fans.## "So, if we can make more Taylor Swift shows in London possible by speeding up our load-in and I pay a little bit extra to do so, but we still have a great event at Wembley. Everybody wins. And I'm not going to get crushed or killed in the process, so I'm fine with that. All 12 Participants In The AEW Continental Classic

Boston, 22 November - 12 stars have been revealed who will compete in the Continental Classic tournament. ## The Continental Classic tournament is all set to be held in November – December 2023 and conclude at the Worlds End pay-per-view event on December 30. The winner will be crowned the inaugural AEW Continental Champion, as well as win the ROH World Championship of sister promotion Ring of Honor (ROH) and the Strong Openweight Championship of partner promotion New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), subsequently becoming AEW Triple Crown Champion. ## During a streaming special on Wednesday, AEW President Tony Khan, Tony Schiavone, and ROH World & NJPW Strong Openweight Champion Eddie Kingston announced a straight list of 12 stars who would be competing in the inaugural Continental Classic tournament that kicks off tonight on Dynamite. ## The Continental Classic will be a round-robin tournament featuring 12 wrestlers divided into two blocks of six. Each wrestler will face each other in their block once, with the top two point-scorers from each block advancing to the semifinals. The semifinals will be single-elimination matches, with the winners advancing to the finals.
