Breaking: Top WWE Star Will Be Taking Time Off Following WrestleMania 40

Seth Rollins, one of WWE's top stars, will be taking time off to heal an injured knee, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. ## The exact timeline for Rollins' return is unknown, but Meltzer did report that the injury is related to his previously reported torn MCL and partially torn meniscus, which he suffered in a match against Jinder Mahal in January. ## While Rollins was able to return for the WrestleMania season after pushing through the initial injury, it appears further rest is now necessary.## This news comes after Rollins competed in two high-profile matches at WrestleMania 40. He teamed with Cody Rhodes on the first night and then defended the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre on the second night. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

Sami Zayn's First Title Defense Seemingly Revealed, Potential Opponent Emerges After WrestleMania 40 Win

Fresh off a major title change at WrestleMania 40, the Intercontinental Championship picture is heating up. Sami Zayn's victory over Gunther ended the longest reign in the title's history, and now several superstars are jockeying for position as his first challenger. ## One such competitor is Ricochet, who took to social media to stake his claim. Bronson Reed had previously pointed out his recent victories over Zayn, but Ricochet fired back with a pointed tweet: "I beat him FOR the IC title. " ## This isn't the first time Ricochet has held the Intercontinental Championship. He defeated Sami Zayn for the title in March 2022, but his reign was cut short when Gunther dethroned him just a few months later. Zayn's WrestleMania win marked the end of Gunther's 666-day reign.## Adding fuel to the fire, Ricochet responded to a fan who argued he beat a "different" Sami Zayn. "Tbh I'm a completely different Ricochet," he replied, hinting at his own growth and development as a wrestler.## While Ricochet didn't qualify for the WrestleMania title shot, eliminated earlier in a Gauntlet match, he clearly has his eyes on the prize. With Sami Zayn as champion, the Intercontinental title scene promises to be an exciting battleground in the coming weeks. ## I beat him FOR the IC title. 👀 https://t.co/DPXTD6yalV— Ricochet (@KingRicochet) April 7, 2024 ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

WWE WrestleMania 40: Trish Stratus & Lita's Planned Segment Scrapped

New details emerged about a scrapped segment planned for WrestleMania 40 Night Two, which would have featured WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita. ## While WrestleMania weekend saw plenty of wrestling legends on WWE shows, it appears a segment featuring two fan favorites didn't make the final cut. According to Fightful Select, plans for Trish Stratus and Lita to appear during the Hall of Fame segment on Night Two were dropped. ## This year's Hall of Fame ceremony put Paul Heyman in the spotlight. Tama Tonga's Cryptic Message Sparks WWE Debut Rumors

Tonga Time might be ticking towards WWE. After a recent departure from New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), Tama Tonga has fueled speculation about his next destination with a cryptic social media post.## Tonga, a 14-year veteran of NJPW, was a founding member of the iconic Bullet Club faction alongside stars who now grace WWE rings – Finn Balor (AJ Styles), Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson. Following WrestleMania 40, the wrestling world set its sights on Tonga's next move, with rumors swirling about a WWE signing.## Adding fuel to the fire, Tonga updated his Twitter profile picture to a graphic image of a rotary phone. This seemingly innocuous change has wrestling fans buzzing with theories. Could the rotary phone be a hint at a pretaped "call" from WWE management, signifying his arrival?## With his deep ties to the Anoa'i family through his father, Haku, some predict Tonga's potential integration into the dominant Bloodline storyline. The Bloodline's WrestleMania 40 was a rollercoaster ride, with Jey Uso defeating Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns & The Rock emerging victorious over Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins on Night One. Triple H On Nick Khan: 'He Is The Biggest Difference Maker I Have Ever Seen'

While some have dubbed it the "Paul Levesque Era," the WWE Chief Content Officer himself is hesitant to define this current period in the company's history. Levesque acknowledges a transition is underway, but emphasizes a more organic approach to letting the era find its own identity, much like the iconic "Attitude Era" that wasn't labelled as such during its run.## Levesque's influence is undeniable. His rise to a leadership position has coincided with a renewed focus on in-ring storytelling and a potential shift away from the more rigidly scripted approach of recent years. Wrestlers seem to have more creative freedom, and NXT, the developmental brand Levesque previously oversaw, is seen as a breeding ground for exciting new talent.## There's a sense of optimism. Levesque, a legend himself, is a strong advocate for building new stars. During WrestleMania XL Sunday Press Conference, Triple H spoke about WWE having "no ceiling," and fans are eager to see what the future holds.## "I keep hearing it. Paul Heyman, while he didn't start it, I suppose, but Paul Heyman made a big deal out of it on Friday night. The new era, you know, talked about being 'my era,' all that 'some era, tar era.' When I say 'our,' I mean everybody in WWE—the people that endured, the people that hung in there, the people that trusted, the people that over the last year, whatever it's been, gave their sweat and tears to get to where we are, because somewhere along the way, they trusted a process that led them to remembering how much fun this is, how much of a privilege it is for us to be able to do it, how great this can be.## We all started kind of in a similar place where we just thought this was the greatest form of entertainment in the world, and we wanted to do it and work our asses off at it and make fans all around the world or make a product that they could all enjoy, and that they could love again. And so it's what people are throwing my name at the top of it. It's their era, every bit as much as mine. I can't do this without all of them. I need them to do it. And two of the people at the very tippity top of that—one is new here but has just been, no pun intended, a game changer. ## Lee Fitting from a production standpoint, from what we're doing, from the look, the feel. All of it, you see changes happening every week on TV, and there's going to be more of them, but you see them and I see people excited by them and just loving the changes that are made. But I'm telling you there's so much more to come like we made a conscious decision together to sort of lean Nick and myself to slowly roll out some of those changes. Over time. ## There's a lot more coming. But when I tell you Lee Fitting that I love working with him, he has a passion for this just like we do. Might be new here but and he's all in and for me. He's the kind of guy that I want to go to work for, I want to, I want to, I want to do stuff to make his job easier and I want to collaborate with him and I want to make things better with him. So I can't say enough good stuff about him. ## A lot of the change that you see and a lot of this success that you're seeing comes from Lee Fitting and then Nick Khan, I can't even begin to describe the change that he's made here. And as if you wanted to boil it all down to a spear tip. It should be, he should be mentioned in the top of that it's his era too because there's nobody right now. I don't even know how to say it. It's it's such an amazing partnership with a guy that I have so much respect for, manages clicks and he's the biggest difference-maker I've ever seen. And together, I can promise people with everything else I just mentioned with Lee but Nick at the top of it...there's no ceiling on this. We're gonna take you places it's never been before. So I just want to thank those guys and say when they say whatever era they want to call it, know that's for you just as much as it is for me." ## If you use any of the quotes above, please credit the source with a h/t and link back to Sacnilk for the transcription. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

Cody Rhodes On Roman Reigns' Reign: 'That's The Greatest Championship Reign In Sports Entertainment'

Cody Rhodes did defeat Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 40. This victory marked a significant accomplishment for Rhodes, fulfilling a long-held dream of dethroning the dominant Tribal Chief. ## This win ended Roman Reigns' historic championship reign, which was widely considered one of the greatest in professional wrestling history. It also cemented Cody Rhodes' place as a top star in WWE.## During WrestleMania XL Sunday Post-Show Press Conference, Cody Rhodes acknowledged Roman Reigns reign stating it the greatest championship reign, in sports entertainment.## "If it was maybe it wasn't purposeful in planning, maybe it was just, I don't know, kismet, destiny.## That's one of those moments a lot of people would ask me what's going to feel like if you if you can beat the tribal chief, you cannot beat Roman Reigns, and I really was honest when I said I don't know. I don't know. I've never been in the endzone before. You know, I've been in the main event, I've been able to be in the main event, but there's a difference between being in the main event and being the main event.## Roman Reigns. Obviously, he and I are not good friends. But that's the greatest championship reign, in sports entertainment.## And as much as I don't agree with his style, and the way he went about being a champion, perhaps I still hope I can be half the champion that he was for WWE as a leader, as the quarterback." ## If you use any of the quotes above, please credit the source with a h/t and link back to Sacnilk for the transcription. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

Bayley on Stephanie McMahon's Return: 'Seeing Her Go Out There And Say The 'Welcome To WrestleMania,' Was Huge'

In a surprise return to WWE television, Stephanie McMahon took center stage at WrestleMania XL to address the Philadelphia crowd. She declared WrestleMania XL to hold a special place in her heart, marking the dawn of the Paul Levesque era. In her address at the WrestleMania XL post-show press conference, Bayley commented on Stephanie McMahon's return to WWE at the event. ## "I saw Stephanie in the back and I thought, 'When I saw her at the Hall of Fame, I didn't even get a chance to see her, but I was super excited to see her there.' She's just such an awesome person to have around. She's so genuine and real. She takes care of you. She looks at you in the eyes when you're talking to her like she cares. You know, one time I saw the makeup people spill bobby pins on accident, and she got on the floor and picked them all up! I was like, 'Wow, she's incredible!' But seeing her go out there and say the 'Welcome to WrestleMania'? To me, that was huge. That was like, 'Women can be in this position right now and can welcome the world to the biggest show in the world. At the biggest WrestleMania ever.' I feel insane that I'm a part of this at this time, at the hottest it's ever been. I do not take it for granted. I do not take it lightly.## And I've known Stephanie for a long time, see? And Brandy back there was really cool – I was sitting next to her as she's watching the main event. She's just like, tapping her leg and like doing stuff. I had a rubber band, and I was like, 'You got this, there's no me okay, you gonna be okay?'## It's a very comforting feeling in the back, and that makes this so much better." ## If you use any of the quotes above, please credit the source with a h/t and link back to Sacnilk for the transcription. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

Bayley: 'Iyo Is So Incredibly Talented And It's Hard To Not Cheer For Her'

Bayley defeated her former friend SKY to become the new WWE Women's Champion. The match was filled with high-flying maneuvers and brutal counters, showcasing the bad blood between the two. ## Despite a nagging knee injury, Bayley fought valiantly, enduring SKY's signature moves like the moonsault and German suplexes. In a dramatic moment, Bayley kicked out of SKY's Over the Moonsault, keeping her championship dreams alive. The Role Model finally grabbed on an opportunity, landing her devastating Rose Plant on a stunned SKY to secure the victory and reclaim the coveted title. ## Speaking to WrestleMania XL Sunday Post-Show Press Conference, Bayley stated the following: ## "I didn't know what it was gonna be like with the crowd, for one. I'm newly friends with the crowd again," Bayley admitted. "So, I was concerned that, you know, some of them didn't forgive me for calling them idiots for so many years. Sometimes you guys were idiots too. It's fine, it happens. I wasn't sure how it was going to be. Because Io is so incredibly talented, and it's hard not to cheer for her. ## "She's so amazing, but she's a really bad friend," Bayley continued. "So, I was very excited to hear that everyone still had my back after all these years. I truly think that my journey through the WWE these past 11 years has, like, cemented such a connection between myself and the fans, all of you guys. So coming out, I felt like, I think I did my job these last few years to show how much I care about this, and how much I care that you guys care about this, you know? So, I felt very, very grateful. And right now, I feel crazy. It feels like the weirdest dream, like I just fantasy booked my whole life. Doing this, then watching The Rock, The Undertaker, and John Cena, it was like fantasy booking this whole thing."## If you use the above quotes, please credit the original source and link back to Sacnilk with an h/t for the transcription. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

During WrestleMania XL Sunday Post-Show Press Conference, Damian Priest stated the following regarding a new era in the company. ## "Where we are going and where we are headed, I have no idea. There's a new era in the company. Everybody can feel it. Everybody can sense it. We are on a roller coaster. We don't know where we are headed. But this ride? It's going to take a minute. ## We are cooking right now. Obviously, all of our sellouts, the business we are doing, the amount of eyeballs, this is the hottest the business has ever been. Everyone likes to compare us to the Attitude Era. ## We are doing some things the Attitude Era would have dreamed of and I am proud to be one of the figureheads right now. With this, I solidify myself as one of the people we will be looking to lead and that is something I am humbled and proud of. How do I keep myself here? The same thing I have been doing. Be better tomorrow than I was yesterday." ## As noted, on the second night of WrestleMania, Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and defeated Drew McIntyre to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. ## If you use the above quotes, please credit the original source and link back to Sacnilk with an h/t for the transcription. ## Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...

Cody Rhodes Overcomes The Odds, Captures Undisputed Title At WrestleMania 40

Cody Rhodes delivered a storybook ending at WrestleMania 40, defeating Roman Reigns in the main event to claim the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.## The "Bloodline Rules" stipulation, established after Cody and Seth Rollins' loss the previous night, heavily favored Reigns. However, a series of unexpected turns unfolded throughout the match. Jimmy Uso's interference was thwarted by Jey Uso, who in a surprising move, launched himself and Jimmy off the ramp through tables below.## Following a near-fall after two Cross Rhodes maneuvers, a Samoan Spike from Solo Sikoa seemingly put Cody away. But in a dramatic turn, Cody kicked out, enraging Sikoa who continued to attack both Cody and Reigns.## John Cena then entered the fray, delivering an Attitude Adjustment on Reigns and eliminating Sikoa with a table throw. Yet another surprise awaited as The Rock confronted Cena.## Just as tensions rose between Cena and The Rock, Seth Rollins charged in, only to be stopped by Reigns. The final twist came with the Undertaker's sudden appearance, delivering a Chokeslam to The Rock. Both Rock and Taker vanished as the lights went out.## Capitalizing on the chaos, Cody rallied and hit a staggering three Cross Rhodes on Reigns, securing the pinfall and the Undisputed Championship. ## The emotional victory was followed by a celebratory gathering in the ring. Cody's wife Brandi, mother, sister, and various WWE stars joined the festivities. He then called upon Bruce Prichard and Triple H to share the momentous occasion. ## THIS. IS.
