Based on Jaswant Singh Gill, a brave and diligent mining engineer who rescued 65 trapped miners at the Raniganj Coalfields in 1989. "Mission Raniganj" is a well made above-average survival thriller. Sadly the execution of 1st half right before the interval is absolutely pathetic. The VFX is awful, songs were unnecessary, screenplay is so fast-paced that at times it felt as if we are watching the film in 2X speed. Thankfully the 2nd half followed by a brilliant nail biting climax saves the film from drowning. Speaking of performances, Akshay Kumar, as always, delivers a commendable performance. Parineeti Chopra is wasted. The rest of the ensemble is simply fine. Overall the film will surely underperform at the Box Office but eventually will gain it's appreciation on OTT.
Definitely not a film worth spending โน200 bucks and watching in Cinemas. It'll be out on Netflix so wait for it and watch it over there.
Akshay Kumar should Stop releasing Films every month people getting bored after watching your movies every month.
