Top Five Most Rated Hindi Movies of 2021 on IMDb
Mumbai, June 6, 2021: These are the tough times for the Bollywood film industry which is being badly affected by the covid-19 pandemic. After almost no release in 2020 since March, the year 2021 has also not been good for the Hindi film industry so far. ##
However, unlike 2020, some of the medium and low-budgeted films released this year in theaters but couldn't survive long enough due to the devastating second wave of the covid-19 which put the country in lockdown once again. ##
Among the Hindi films released this year - Mumbai Saga, Roohi, Saina, and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar are prominant. At the box office among these movies, Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's "Roohi" is the highest grossed film with Rs. 28.70 crore. ##
However, there are movies that didn't do well at the box office but got great appreciation from the fans. While some of these movies directly premiered on the OTT platforms, some went to OTT after completing their theatrical run. ##

Kaagaz (7.6 Rating) - Directed by Satish Kaushik, Kaagaz is a biographical comedy film based on the life and struggle of Lal Bihari, a farmer from the small village of Amilo Mubarakpur, who was declared dead on government records. Kaagaz is produced by Salman Khan, Nishant Kaushik, and Vikas Malu and it stars Pankaj Tripathi in the lead role. It premiered directly on ZEE5 on January 7. ##

Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi (7.6 Rating) - Directed by Seema Pahwa, the story of the movie revolves around a family that gathers at their ancestral home in Lucknow to perform the Hindu traditions and death rituals called the tehrvi of Ramprasad. During this entire process, the family of Ramprasad realizes the importance of people. ##
The movie was released on 1 January 2021 and received critical acclaim for the story, screenplay, and performances of each character. It stars Naseeruddin Shah, Vikrant Massey, Konkona Sen Sharma, Parambrata Chatterjee, Vinay Pathak, Supriya Pathak, Manoj Pahwa, and Vineet Kumar in key roles. 3. Nail Polish (7.4 Rating) - Nail Polish is a thriller film that directly premiered on ZEE5 on 1 January. Starring Arjun Rampal, Manav Kaul, Madhoo, Rajit Kapur, and Anand Tiwari, the film follows the trial of a famous social activist who is accused of raping and murdering two migrant children while also suspected of killing others. It is directed by Bugs Bhargava Krishna and produced by Ten Years Younger Productions.##
4. The White Tiger (7.1 Rating) - The White Tiger is a drama film based on Aravind Adiga's 2008 novel of the same name. Directed by Ramin Bahrani, the story of the film is about Balram, who comes from a poor Indian village and uses his wit and cunning to escape from poverty. The movie stars Adarsh Gourav, Priyanka Chopra, and Rajkummar Rao in prominant roles. It was released globally on Netflix on 22 January 2021 and it was also nominated at the 93rd Academy Awards for Best Adapted Screenplay. ##
5. Pagglait (7 Rating) - Pagglait is a black comedy drama film starring Sanya Malhotra as a young widow. Directed by Umesh Bist and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, and Sikhya Entertainment, Pagglait follows a young woman who lost her husband after just five months of marriage. As Sandhya Giri (Sanya Malhotra) learns how to face the family, she does crazy stuff which leaves some puzzled and others miffed. The movie was premiered directly on Netflix on 26 March, and it also stars Ashutosh Rana, Shruti Sharma, and Raghubir Yadav in prominant roles. ##
