Sooryavanshi Breaks Box Office Records For A Hindi Film On Day 2

Mumbai, November 7 - Akshay Kumar-fronted "Sooryavanshi" is turning out to be a record-breaking outing for the Bollywood film industry. After taking a thundering opening of Rs. 26.29 crores on Friday, the Rohit Shetty-directed remained super-strong on Saturday as well with a slight drop of 9% for Rs. 23.85 crores. ## However, the bigger story is that despite the drop on day 2 (Saturday), the box office numbers of "Sooryavanshi" were big enough to make it the biggest second-day collection film for Akshay Kumar, overstepping "Good Newwz's" Rs. 21.78 cr. Chennai, November 7 - Tamil Diwali blockbuster "Annaatthe" starring superstar Rajinikanth has taken the worldwide box office by storm. The action drama film, directed by Siva, is having a superb run at the Indian as well as overseas box office and crossed the Rs. 100 crores mark in just three days of release. ## Touted as an outright mass entertainer, "Annaatthe", took the opening of Rs. 50.70 crores worldwide, including Rs. 35.28 crores gross in India. Mumbai, November 6 - Akshay Kumar-starrer "Sooryavanshi" has created records in many ways, and one of them was recorded on the ticketing site, Book My Show. ## The website officially announced that over 700K tickets of Rohit Shetty-directed were sold in less than 24 hours on November 5, 17 tickets per second, making it the highest ever peak for a Hindi movie on Book My Show. The advance booking for Sooryavanshi in the multiplex chains was opened late on November 4, which was one of the reasons for the heavy traffic on the site. ## Apart from "Sooryavanshi", Book My Show also revealed that over 1 million tickets of Tamil movie "Annaatthe" starring superstar Rajinikanth, were sold as of November 5. This makes "Annaatthe" the first Indian movie to sell over 1 million tickets on BMS after the second covid-19 wave. ## Marvel Studios', "Eternals", too was in the race and sold over 500K tickets during the said time. Rohit Shetty's Next Film In Cop Universe Is Singham 3 With Ajay Devgn!

Mumbai, November 5 - Rohit Shetty's "Sooryavanshi" featuring Akshay Kumar in the title role has been released in theaters on November 5 and it opened to a roaring response at the box office. "Sooryavanshi" is the 4th film in Shetty's cop universe, which began with Ajay Devgn-fronted "Singham" (2011). ## The sequel to Singham was released in 2014, titled "Singham Returns", and since then, there have been reports hinting about the third installment in the Singham franchise, but the film wasn't made official. However, with Sooryavanshi's release, Rohit Shetty has reportedly revealed the plans of Singham 3. ## "Singham was set in Goa, followed by Singham Returns which went a notch higher with the premise being set in Mumbai. Mumbai, November 4 - Bollywood biggie is going massive in overseas markets. As mentioned earlier, Rohit Shetty's directorial will receive a big 1300-screen release in 66 countries on November 5. It is said that the film is a love triangle with suspense and thrill, which will have two leading ladies.## The latest reports suggest that the busy bee, Bhumi Pednekar is one of the actresses and she has come on board for the film opposite Arjun. Makers are expected to make the official announcement once the paperwork is done. Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat, Among The New States To Allow 100% Theater Occupancy Ahead Of Sooryavanshi Release

Mumbai, October 31 - Ahead of the big theatrical release of Rohit Shetty's cop drama "Sooryavanshi", the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat, among the few others, have permitted 100% occupancy in theaters. ## As of now, 9 states have allowed theaters to operate with full capacity, and half of them fall in North India, which is a great sign for the "Sooryavanshi" release. West Bengal has allowed 70% occupancy while Punjab theaters are allowed to run with 2/3 (66%) of full capacity. The biggest movie market for Hindi cinema, Maharashtra has permitted cinema halls to run with 50% capacity. ## "Sooryavanshi" release date was finalized after the announcement of theaters reopening in Maharashtra. Amazon Prime Video Paid A Whopping Rs. 450 Crores To Acquire Post-Theatrical Rights For 6 Yash Raj Films' Film!

Mumbai, October 30 - A couple of days ago, Amazon Prime Video and Yash Raj Films signed a deal for the post-theatrical streaming rights of YRF's 4 upcoming films that include Bunty Aur Babli 2, Prithviraj, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Shamshera. These films will be available to stream on Prime Video after 4-weeks of theatrical release. ## As per the industry insiders, Amazon Prime Video has paid Rs. 250 crores for the four aforementioned films, which is one of the biggest deals for movies, streaming after theatrical release. Earlier, there were reports that Amazon had offered Rs. 450 crores to YRF for direct-to-digital release of the said films. However, Aditya Chopra of YRF was always wanted his films to have theatrical release first.## Apart from the 4 aforementioned films, Prime Video has reportedly acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of YRF's two more most-awaited films - Tiger 3 and Pathan. However, neither Prime Video nor YRF made an official announcement regarding the two films but it is said that the two companies reached a deal that will give access to Prime Video to stream Tiger 3 and Pathan after 8-weeks of theatrical release. ## Salman Khan starrer "Tiger 3" and Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathan" are undoubtedly the biggest projects in the YRF slate and these two films will hold great value even after theatrical release. According to reports, Prime Video was keen to bag both and offered a whopping Rs 200 crores offer for 8-weeks theatrical window. Uttar Pradesh To Get Its First Drive-In Theatre On Diwali

Lucknow, October 27 - Uttar Pradesh is set to get its first-ever drive-in theatre on Diwali. With a capacity of 200 cars, the drive-in theatre in Lucknow's Sarojini Nagar area is expected to draw a big crowd on Diwali. People can watch movies from the comfort of their cars while enjoying food and other amenities.## Lucknow-based commercial pilot and businessman, Nitish Kanda, who started the venture, said, "This will be a new experience not just for the city but for the entire state as this is the first drive-in theatre in Uttar Pradesh. We have installed a digital LED screen with 40 by 20 ft dimensions which also works well in sunlight. For the time being, we will have evening and night shows".## The district administration and the municipal corporation have granted permission for the facility and tickets will be available both online and offline.## "The digital LED screen promises better picture quality over a projector. It also gives a 180-degree equal view from all angles.
