Sony Pictures Films India To Release Over 17 Films In 12 Months In India

Mumbai, September 20, 2021: Sony Pictures Films India (SPFI) has a big announcement for Indian movie lovers. The film studio has announced that it will release over 17 films in the next 12 months in India. These films include blockbuster Hollywood movies as well as Indian films. ## "Sony Pictures Films India (SPFI) is all set to redefine blockbuster entertainment with over 17 fresh releases slated for the next 12 months. Welcome back to larger-than-life, joyful, big-ticket films and the immerse magic of storytelling that we have all missed so much", the company said in a statement. ## Among the Hollywood movies, Studio will release in the coming months, Tom Hardy's "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" will release on October 15 while "Spider-Man: No Way Home" will debut in theaters on December 17. During this period, the studio will also release films like "Resident Evil", "Ghostbusters: Afterlife", "Morbius", among others. ## On the other hand, Sony India has "Looop Lapeta", "Major", "Nikamma", "Tera Kya Hoga Lovely", among a few other Indian films lined up for the release. A Documentary Series On Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan Is In The Making

Mumbai, September 19, 2021: Salman Khan is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the Hindi film industry. From the beginning of his career to become the superstar, Salman's 33-years of journey in the film industry has nothing been short of a rollercoaster ride, in which he has had his share of ups and downs. ## While the fans of Salman will see plenty of films of him in the future, a docu-series on the actor is also in the making and it has reportedly been titled "Beyond The Star - Salman Khan". To chronicle Salman's journey to stardom and also give a glimpse to the audience about the lesser-known facts of the actor, SKF Films in association with Wiz Films and Applause Entertainment are producing the series. ## According to Pinkvilla, "All the key stakeholders of Salman's career – right from family to his co-stars, directors, and producers – will be a part of this docu-series. The prep work has already begun and the interviews with Salman's colleagues will be done in the coming few months". ## It is reported that the producers are in talks with an OTT platform for the premiere of the series. Meanwhile, a documentary is being made on Salman's father, the celebrated writer Salim Khan and his partnership with the legendary, Javed Akhtar. Actor Sonu Sood Evaded Over Rs. 20 Crore In Taxes, Violated FCRA Norms, Claims IT Department

Mumbai, September 18, 2021: The Income Tax department, which had speed up and widened its tax evasion probe against actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood, has claimed in a statement that the actor has evaded taxes of over Rs. 20 crore. ## After conducting raids at the actor's premise for three days in a row at different locations, the department today said that it has found incriminating evidence pertaining to tax evasion during the search. "The main modus operandi followed by the actor had been to route his unaccounted income in the form of bogus unsecured loans from many bogus entities", the IT department said in a statement. ## Sonu Sood has been hailed as massiah for his philanthropical efforts during the covid-19 lockdown and tried to help people as much as he could. He had recently announced a tie-up with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party.## "Investigations so far have revealed use of 20 such entries, the providers of which, on examination, have accepted on oath to have given bogus accommodation entries. They have accepted to have issued cheques in lieu of cash. There have been instances where professional receipts have been camouflaged as loans in the books of accounts for the purpose of evasion of tax. It has also been revealed that these bogus loans have been used for making investments and acquiring properties. The total amount of tax evaded unearthed so far, amounts to more than Rs. 20 crore", the statement further read.## The CBDT said that the foundation has collected donations worth Rs. 18.94 crore from April 1, 2021, till date, out of which it has spent around Rs. 1.9 crore towards various relief work while the balance of Rs. 17 crore has been found lying unutilised in the bank account of the foundation.## "It is seen that funds to the tune of Rs. 2.1 crore have also been raised by the charity foundation from overseas donors on a crowdfunding platform in violation of (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) FCRA regulations", the CBDT statement added.## The department also said that cash of Rs 1.8 crore has been seized during the searches and 11 lockers have been placed under prohibitory order. T-Series & Reliance Entertainment Collaborate To Produce A Slate Of Films Worth Over INR 1000 Crores

Mumbai, September 13, 2021: In a big development, two of India's biggest production houses, T-Series and Reliance Entertainment have joined hands to produce a slate of films over the next 2-3 years. During this period, the two companies will jointly produce more than 10 films across different genres that include big-budget tentpoles as well as mid and small-budget content-rich films. ## The two studios have worked together on the music marketing front for more than 100 films. And now, they will jointly be venturing into film production and will be investing over INR 1000 crores over the course of the next 24 to 36 months. ## The extensive line-up of films is in various stages of development which includes Hindi remakes of Tamil blockbuster drama and action thrillers, a mega historic biopic, espionage thriller, courtroom drama, satire comedy, romance drama, and a film based on shocking true events, amongst others.## Given the pace of the developments, confirmed alignments with some of India’s biggest stars, four to five films will have a comfortable big-screen release worldwide, starting next year-2022. Chennai, September 8, 2021: Earlier in July this year, Suriya starrer critically acclaimed and widely appreciated Tamil film, Soorarai Pottru was confirmed to be remade in Hindi. Suriya's 2D Entertainment joined hands with Vikram Malhotra's Abundantia Entertainment to produce the Hindi remake of this monster digital hit. ## Soon after the Hindi remake was announced, the movie hit a roadblock after Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment, who had co-produced the film in Tamil along with Suriya's 2D Entertainment, had approached the court and requested a stay on the film's remake. The judge had granted an injunction and advised both the team to find out a friendly solution. ## And now, nearly after two months, the case came up for hearing on Wednesday (September 8) and the Madras High Court vacated the injunction granted to Sikhya Entertainment. With this judgment, the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru gets clearance to go ahead and the makers can now resume work on this film. ## Sudha Kongara, who has directed the original film, will also direct the Hindi version of the film.
