Box Office: Brahmastra First Thursday Early Estimates

Mumbai, September 15 - Brahmastra has seen another drop in collections on the first Thursday of its box office run as the early estimate collections suggest 9 crores net in all versions. The film is seeing 15-20% drops daily which is not a good sign in long term. The first Thursday business of the film will push the entire collection to over 173cr net box office mark which is an excellent result but after the massive weekend, the film should have breached the 175cr mark easily. Overall the first week of business of Brahmastra will be the biggest for any Hindi film post-pandemic and even otherwise it will be one of the biggest outside Salman Khan starrers. The second Friday is very important for Brahmastra and the best-case scenario will be to show a drop of under 10% and eventually have good jumps over the next few days to register a healthy 2nd weekend. The hit verdict looks tough now but the film should cross the 225cr net mark. Here are Brahmastra Part One: Shiva first Thursday early estimates. ## Hindi Net: 8.50 Cr Telugu+Tamil: 0.50 Cr About This Movie This film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Dharma Productions in association with Star Studios, Prime Focus, and Starlight Pictures. Brahmastra Part One: Shiva stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Mouni Roy in key roles. Stay tuned...

Diljit Dosanjh Opens Up On The 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots

Mumbai, September 14 - Punjabi and Bollywood actor, Diljit Dosanjh is gearing up for the release of director Ali Abbas Zafar's Jogi, which is set against the background of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots that happened across the country following the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards on October 31, 1984.## While promoting the film, Dosanjh spoke about India's one of the darkest chapters of history and said that it shouldn't be called a riot and should be termed genocide. In an interview with PTI, while talking about his upcoming film "Jogi", Diljit Dosanjh shared how he feels about the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. ## He said, "We should not call it riots, the right word is genocide. When there is a two-sided fight between people, then it is a riot. According to me, it should be called genocide. It is not that it happened to one or a few people. I know it happened collectively, with all of us".## "If I talk about some incidents, it will be personal. We are talking about it collectively in the film. I have been hearing about it since I was born and we are still living with it. We all have heard a lot of stories and we couldn't believe something like this can happen in life. But, anything can happen", he added.## The "Good Newwz" actor further said that even though cinema is all about entertainment, films like "Jogi" based on true facts should also be made which has been part of the dark history of India. "This is not a new story. This film (Jogi) is also talking about the same things that we have grown up listening to. Whatever has happened is there for everyone to see", he added.## "Jogi" is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on September 16. It is billed as a thrilling and emotional journey of the fighting spirit of three friends, played by Diljit, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, and Hiten Tejwani.## Stay tuned...

Ayan Mukerji Reveals Basic Storyline And Sets Release Plans of 'Brahmastra Part 2: Dev'

Mumbai, September 14 - It took nearly a decade for director Ayan Mukerji to bring the first part of the planned Brahmastra trilogy to the big screen, but the second part, titled Brahmastra Part Two: Dev will be back on the big screen, faster with more love and light. ## There have already been several fan theories going on regarding the sequel after the first part left enough for the fans to keep guessing. It was released in cinemas on September 9 and smashed box office records, setting the stage perfectly for part 2 "Dev". ## Director Ayan Mukerji, in an interview with Indian Express, revealed that he has already written the script for the remaining two parts, which were completely dependent on the acceptance of part one "Shiva". Despite the mixed reviews, the movie found acceptance among the audiences which paved the way for the next film in the trilogy. ## There has not been set a release date timeline for "Brahmastra 2", but the director has planned to bring it in nearly 3 years in 2025. Ayan revealed that Part 2 will chronicle Dev's backstory as well as continue the present-day timeline. It is not yet known who will play Dev's role but rumors suggest it could be either Hrithik Roshan, Ranveer Singh, or Ranbir Kapoor. ## "I can answer very few things about Dev. The idea was to create a very clear indication of where we are going next with the storytelling. Now we are really getting into the story of our antagonist. Decoding it, giving you some hook to hang on to for part two. Dev is the fulcrum of the entire Brahmastra trilogy", Ayan said. ## According to the filmmaker, Brahmastra 2 will switch between the past and the present and showcase how Dev impacts the universe. ## "The problems that this community and the world will face because of Brahmastra, what is the real stress with it? All of this will actually unfold in Dev's story. His story is meant to take us back into his past but also he has returned to the present. So, the idea is, we will be continuing the present story, but also telling you the story of the past", he added.## Stay tuned...

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's 'Karna' To Be Made In Two-Parts

Mumbai, September 14 - Last year, it was reported that filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has been working on a mythological epic based on Mahabharat's key character Karna. The director reportedly had approached Shahid Kapoor to play this iconic role, however, things seem to have changed since then. ## According to Peepingmoon.com, Shahid Kapoor has backed out from this magnum opus, and now, the makers are looking for new actors to play Karna. It is also revealed that the movie will be split into two parts and Mehra is writing this film along with veteran author Anand Neelakantan accordingly. ## "The subject and characters are so vast and complicated that he (Rakeysh Mehra) believes one film can not justify Karna's story. Baahubali, KGF, and Pushpa's success have further boosted the maker's confidence to experiment with a multi-part format", read the report. ## Meanwhile, this mega project will now reportedly be produced by Farhan Akhtar under his banner Excel Entertainment. It was earlier supposed to be produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies. "The makers are contemplating a big star to headline this project, and while they have pitched the film to 2-3 Bollywood stars, no one has come on board as yet". ## "Karna" is touted to be the ambitious project of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, which will be a big-screen spectacle to be made on a 200-crore budget. It will be told from the point of view of the spiritual son of Surya and a loyal friend of Duryodhana. The first part of this epic is expected to go on floors by mid-2023. ## Stay tuned...

The fans have been trending on social media and running campaigns for the spin-off of SRK's character as Mohan Bharghav, a scientist who wielded Vanar Astra. ## Shah Rukh Khan's cameo in the film has the potential to be made into a full-fledged spin-off film or series and now, director Ayan Mukerji has an exciting piece of news regarding the same. During a recent interview with Indian Express, Ayan shared that they were already exploring the ideas to spin off SRK's character to tell the origin story of the scientist. ## Asked about fans' demands for a spin-off, which includes an online petition, Ayan said, "Before the fans were saying it, we were also saying that ourselves. Brahmastra First Tuesday Early Estimates; Maintains Decent Hold

Mumbai, September 13 - Brahmastra has once again shown decent hold on the first Tuesday of its box office run as the early estimate collections suggest 13-14 crores net in all the versions. The first Tuesday collections will push the entire box office collections of Brahmastra to over 154cr net mark which is a huge number and only a few films have gone over 150cr net in the first five days of the release.## The hold is good but a stronger hold would have made the chance of hitting the 175cr net mark in the first week comfortably which now looks like a stiff task. The bigger centers continue to collect well while the tier2 and tier2 cities have seen huge drops which were expected as the film is for the major city audience. Brahmastra has collected 1.10cr as per the early estimate in the Tamil+Telugu version. The dubbed version collections will set a new record.## The second Friday is very important for Brahmastra and the film should collect well to stay in the race of 250cr lifetime collections. The good thing about the film is that it has got a free run for some weeks and the next major release will be Vikram Vedha on 30th September and till then the film should see good footfalls.## Here are early estimates of Brahmastra Part One: Shiva for the first Tuesday.## Hindi: 12.00 Cr## Telugu+Tamil: 1.10 Cr## India Gross: 15.40 Cr## Stay tuned...

Now, according to the latest reports, producer Firoz Nadiadwala is also separately working on Mahabharta for feature film adaptation. ## Mahabharta has always been in the media headlines as many filmmakers have tried to adapt it for the big screen, however, it could never get off the ground. According to Bollywood Hungama, producer Firoz Nadiadwala, who has produced films like Hera Pheri and Welcome, has finally decided to make a film on Mahabharta.## The report says that the producer has started work on Mahabharat and aims to make it the most visually stunning film ever in Indian cinema. The post-production will take a couple of years more and reportedly, it will go on floors by 2025. The report further said that the budget for the movie is expected to be more than Rs. 700 crores.## It is said that the "Mahabharta" movie will be the first Indian film to be shot in 5D! Shah Rukh Khan Fans Start Campaign To Force Dharma Productions To Spin-Off His Character From 'Brahmastra Part One: Shiva'

Mumbai, September 13 - The fans of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan have started a campaign to force Dharma Productions and director Ayan Mukerji to spin off his character, Mohan Bhargav from Brahmatra Part One: Shiva, which has been released in theaters and roaring at the box office. ## Shah Rukh Khan has played a cameo role as Mohan Bhargav, a scientist and a member of the Brahmānsh who wielded Vanarāstra. SRK's cameo has been one of the biggest pluses and highlights of the movie and the character can easily be spin-off into a feature film or series.## The impact of SRK's cameo has been huge on the audiences and now, his fans are pushing things further, demanding a solo "Brahmastra" project. They have started the campaign and so far, over 1500 people have signed the petition to force the makers to make a spin-off of Bhrahmastra featuring Mohan Bhargav. ## These fan campaigns do not necessarily mean the makers will force to accept them but these often have made a positive impact and the biggest example of it is HBO Max's "Zack Snyder's Justice League", which could have been possible only because of an extreme fan campaign that forced Warner Bros. to make it. ## It will be interesting to see if SRK fans can achieve their goal. ## Meanwhile, "Brahmastra Part One: Shiva", directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Dharma Productions, Starlight Pictures, and Prime Focus in association with Star Studios, has had a record-breaking opening weekend at the worldwide box office despite mixed reviews. The movie made over 214 crores in three days, which is the biggest ever opening weekend for a Bollywood movie. ## It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Mouni Roy in prominent roles along with Nagarjuna Akkineni and Shah Rukh Khan. Drawing inspiration from stories in Hindu mythology, the film follows Shiva, an orphan with pyrokinetic powers who discovers that he is an Astra, a weapon of enormous energy. He attempts to prevent the strongest of the astras, the Brahmāstra, from falling into the hands of dark forces that share a history with him. ## Stay tuned...

Brahmastra First Monday Early Estimates; Holds Well

Mumbai, September 12 - After having a record-shattering opening weekend in all the versions Brahmastra witnessed a drop on Monday which was always likely. The film will witness an approx 50% drop compared to the opening day of the film.## The early estimates suggest 16.80 crores net in all the languages. The film can reach 17cr as well but for that, the film has to outperform late-night shows. Overall Monday numbers are very good, however, the makers would have loved 20 crores to remain in the race to collect 300cr lifetime collections which look tough now though if the film manages to sustain these levels for the next couple of days and eventually shows big growth on the second weekend then 300cr still could be achieved.## The film has seen a drop in collections in practically all the circuits but few circuits in the North haven't dropped that big compared to the rest. This is because Mumbai and South had partial holidays on the first day so they overperformed which the rest of the other circuits did not have and collected fairly. The dubbed version collections have always dropped and they will drop further as the film got mixed reviews there just like the rest of the country. The drop in collections is also because of ticket rates coming down as weekend rates were blockbuster levels. ## The first Monday collections will take the entire box office collections of Brahmastra to over 141cr net box office mark in all versions which is a huge number. The film should cross the 175cr net box office mark in the first week which is not much of an ask from here on. The film will emerge as a success in the first week but the HIT verdict will depend upon how the film fares in the second week as despite being a huge grosser this film cannot be termed as a hit due to having a humongous cost. The hit verdict will be given if it crosses the 250cr net box office mark.## Here are the early estimate collections of Brahmastra on the first Monday. ## Hindi Net: 15.45 Cr## Telugu Net: 1.00 Cr## Tamil Net: 35L## India Gross: 19.80 Cr## Stay tuned...

Brahmastra First Sunday Early Estimates; Creates Mayhem At The Box Office

Mumbai, September 11 - Brahmastra has created mayhem at the box office with extraordinary collections across the country on its first Sunday. The early estimate collections are heading towards a little under 45cr net box office mark in all the versions with the Hindi version recording close to 41.50cr net. These are early estimate collections and the final collections might vary.## The Hindi version collection on Sunday will be among the highest single days ever though it will fall short of Ranbir Kapoor's highest single-day record of Sanju which collected over 46cr net mark on the first Sunday but it also has to be noted that Sanju was released in 2018 when the box office collections were not as tough as today's post-pandemic world.## The film has witnessed outstanding growth and that too after recording two consecutive mega days at the box office. This type of trend was last witnessed in Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju and before that it was Salman Khan's, Tiger Zinda. The highest growth has come in circuits like Gujarat, Saurashtra, East Punjab, and Central India which is an excellent sign as these circuits are core Hindi circuits that will drive the film. The southern states continue to collect well though some centers have seen a drop which was always likely as the film overperformed on the first day down South.## The first weekend collections of Brahmastra are over 122cr mark in all the versions which is a new high for the Hindi film industry. The Hindi version weekend will be around the 112cr mark which will be the third highest after Sanju and Tiger Zinda Hai. The film has also recorded unbelievable collections overseas which enabled the worldwide collections to cross over the 200cr mark in the first weekend only which is again a new high for the Hindi film industry. The final worldwide weekend in the Hindi version will most probably edge out Salman Khan's Sultan or very close to it but that will be known tomorrow when the official number arrives.## Brahmastra has broken many records and created new ones and provided a much-needed respite to the Hindi film industry. The collections will drop tomorrow and looking at the advance on Monday the drop will be big but let's hope the film sustains well on the subsequent days to put a huge lifetime collection.## Stay tuned...

Huge Appreciation For Shah Rukh Khan's Cameos In 'Rocketry' And 'Brahmastra' Sets The Stage For 'Pathaan' To Create Mayhem At The Box Office

Mumbai, September 11 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in a full-fledged role in Zero, which was released in December 2018. Now, after more than 4 years, he is going to make his big screen comeback as a lead hero in the Yash Raj Films' Pathaan, which is scheduled to release on January 25, 2023. ## It may have taken 4 years for King Khan to make his comeback but his craze among the fans hasn't dropped a bit. The comeback period of SRK could have been shorter had there been no covid-19 pandemic, but still, SRK managed to still the hearts of the audiences who have been waiting to see him in "Pathaan". ## "Pathaan" is one of the most anticipated Indian films and the stage for it has been perfectly set by the cameo roles Shah Rukh Khan played in two successful films this year - Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and Brahmastra Part One: Shiva. The actor made a guest appearance in Rocketry while currently in theaters, Brahmatra, SRK plays a healthy cameo of about 15 minutes.## It is very hard for actors to grab the headlines by only playing cameo roles unless the actor is Shah Rukh Khan. He was not a part of the promotion of both the films, still many people went to watch the movie only to see him on the big screen. SRK's cameos have been talking points on both occasions, especially in Brahmastra, in which his role is one of the biggest pluses. ## The fans are going gaga over their beloved star and social media is flooded with appreciation posts which shows how much the audience is waiting for his upcoming films. While "Pathaan" does not need any cameos to create hype around it, the reactions of people have surely set the stage for Siddharth Anand-directorial to create mayhem at the box office.## Shah Rukh Khan hasn't spoken anything about the people's reactions to his cameo roles yet, but he must be very happy to see the fans love and can be assured about the success of the upcoming spy action thriller that also stars John Abraham, and Deepika Padukone. ## Stay tuned...
