Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' Tops 800 Crore Worldwide Gross After Huge Second Sunday

Hyderabad, July 8 - Kalki 2898 AD is a box office juggernaut that isn't going to end anytime soon.## The Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic is continuing to run riot and has crossed 800 crores at the worldwide box office after it had another huge day on the second Sunday (11th day) globally with an estimated 65 crores gross collection. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki's total worldwide collection after the second weekend has reached an estimated 832 crores which includes 607+ crore gross domestically and 225 crore at the overseas box office, making it the 10th highest-grossing Indian film of all time worldwide. ## Kalki 2898 AD is the 10th Indian movie and the second for Prabhas to top 800 crores gross globally. Ram Charan Announces Shoot Wrap For 'Game Changer'

Hyderabad, July 8 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan announced on social media that he has wrapped up shooting for the highly-anticipated Pan India movie Game Changer with director S. Shankar, and the release date of the film will be announced soon. ## It has been a long journey for the actor on the Game Changer shoot which commenced in October 2021 and after almost three years, it has finally been completed. Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' Second Sunday Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 7 - Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD clocks 49+ crores net collection in its second weekend in the dubbed Hindi version after big Sunday. The movie witnessed a drop of around 40% from the first Friday to Sunday weekend which is an excellent hold. ## The Nag Ashwin's directorial sci-fi epic crossed the 200 crores net mark after scoring an estimated 22-23 crores net (+22%) on its second Sunday (11th day) in Hindi, pushing the total to around 212 crores net. Subject to the official collection, it may or may not have crossed Fighter (212.80 crores net approx) to become the biggest Hindi grosser of the year. ## The excellent second-weekend hold signifies acceptance among the general movie lovers and this should help it to have long legs at the box office. The movie is performing equally well in multiplex and mass pockets which is another good sign for its longevity. Mumbai, July 7 - Kalki 2898 AD continues to run riot at the ticket window and has already sold over 2.50 crores of tickets in the first 10 days in all languages. Now, the movie has unlocked another milestone on the ticketing platform, Book My Show. ## The Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic has become the first film of 2024 to sell 10 million tickets on Book My Show as it achieved this feat on July 7th. Prabhas 'Salaar 2' Shoot To Begin On August 10

Hyderabad, July 3 - Pan India superstar Prabhas, currently basking on the mega box office success of Kalki 2898 AD, is set to start the sequel of last year's success Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel amid the rumours of it getting shelved. ## Salaar Part 1 was one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2023 and the makers planned to commence the shoot of Salar Part 2 sooner than later to complete the story. The movie was supposed to go on floors by June this year but now, it will roll out in August. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, the 20% shoot of Salaar 2 is already completed and the makers will resume it on August 10 with a 15-day schedule at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. Hyderabad, July 3 - After another good day at the box office, director Nag Ashwin's mega-blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD has topped 600 crores gross collection worldwide in just 6 days, becoming one of the fastest Indian movies to achieve the milestone. ## The Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted tentpole has been on a winning spree since day 1 and breaking records left, right, and centre. After reaching the milestone of 500 crores worldwide gross in the 4-day opening weekend itself, the movie showed a strong hold on Monday to go past 550 crores and kept the momentum going on Tuesday to reach the next target. ## On its 6th day, Kalki 2898 AD minted an estimated 40+ crores at the worldwide box office, including 32+ crores domestically to take its total worldwide cume to around 610 crores, including an estimated 441+ crores in India. It will cross 450 crores in India and 650 crores worldwide on its 7th day. ## Earlier, the sci-fi epic scored the biggest opening for an Indian movie since RRR (2022) with 175+ crores gross. It is the third biggest opening ever for an Indian title after RRR and Baahubali 2 and is the only 5th movie to score 150+ crores worldwide opening, also including Salaar: Ceasefire and KGF: Chapter 2.## Kalki's ultimate aim should be 1000 crores gross and it is on track to achieve this target during the third week of its box office run. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' First Tuesday Early Estimates

Hyderabad, July 2 - Kalki 2898 AD continues to score well at the Hindi box office after another solid hold on its first Tuesday. The movie is seeing a drop of around 20% from Monday which is a good hold as Monday was stronger than expected after the extended opening weekend. ## The Nag Ashwin's directorial blockbuster, on its 6th day, scored an estimated 13-14+ crores net collection in Hindi. This takes its total to 141+ crores in the dubbed version as the first full week is heading for 160+ crores net. ## The weekday trend of Kalki 2898 AD is almost similar to RRR in Hindi and it will probably be heading towards a similar finish. However, the lack of major new releases for another 10 days could give an additional push to Kalki in the second weekend to collect and there are chance it might finish above RRR in the long run. ## Apart from Hindi, Kalki 2898 AD also scored a decent hold in the other versions as all versions are estimated to be 33+ crores gross on the first Tuesday. SSMB 29: Prithviraj Sukumaran To Play Antagonist Against Mahesh Babu In SS Rajamouli's Next

Hyderabad, July 2 - As the world is waiting for SS Rajamouli's next which is with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, the maverick filmmaker has reportedly finalized the antagonist to take on Pokiri star in this highly-anticipated Pan India movie, tentatively titled SSMB 29. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, SS Rajamouli has been in talks with Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran to come on board as the main villain and the actor has finally agreed to do the same. It is said that Prithviraj's role as antagonist will have a backstory to justify his action. ## As reported earlier, SSMB29 will be an African Jungle Adventure, on the lines of Indiana Jones in which Mahesh Babu's character reportedly has traits of Lord Hanuman. SS Rajamouli has completed most of the scripting and is locking the rest of the cast. ## There were rumours in the past that Indonesian actress, Chelsea Islan would play the female lead, however, nothing was confirmed. The movie will be produced by an international and SSR is reportedly in talks with Disney and Sony Pictures for the same. Box Office: Top 10 Highest-Grossing South Indian Films In Hindi

Mumbai, October 9 - Maverick director SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion set the benchmark for not just Telugu cinema but also in the Hindi and rest of the versions. It was the last film to sell over 5 crores tickets in Hindi. Baahubali 2 was only the second South Indian film, after Baahubali, to reach 100 crores net mark in Hindi. While no other film could come close to the footfalls benchmark set by BB2, nearly a dozen South Indian films have managed to breach 100 crores net mark in Hindi, with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule went on to become, not the biggest dubbed grosser, but also the biggest Hindi net grosser of all-time with over 800 crores. The latest South Indian film to join the 100 crores net club in Hindi is Rishab Shetty's Kannada blockbuster Kantara Chapter 1, which is the prequel to 2022's Kantara. The period folk action thriller has topped the milestone in 7 days, becoming the second Kannada movie and 11th South Indian title to do so in Hindi.
