Kochi, November 1 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran reunited for the sequel to their mega-blockbuster film Lucifer. The second instalment of this political action thriller was titled Lucifer 2: Empuraan (L2E) and is one of the biggest Malayalam movies in the making. ## Over the last few months, there have been speculations about the film's release date and now on November 1, the makers officially confirmed that Prithviraj Sukumaran's directorial would hit the big screens on March 27, 2025, in Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Tamil languages. ## The film is produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions and stars Mohanlal as Khureshi-Ab'raam / Stephen Nedumpally, reprising his role from the original. It also features an ensemble cast of Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saniya Iyappan, Arjun Das, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Fazil, and Sachin Khedekar.## The original Lucifer was released in 2019 and emerged as one of the biggest Malayalam blockbusters of all time. With approximately 127.50 crores worldwide gross collection, it is the 7th highest-grossing Malayalam movie ever.
