Rishab Shetty To Headline 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj'; Release Date Locked

Mumbai, December 3 - Kannada star Rishab Shetty is on a roll with the back-to-back mega-budgeted Pan India films. After the huge success of Kantara, the actor started working on its prequel, Kantara: Chapter 1 and recently was confirmed to headline director Prasanth Varma's highly-awaited Jai Hanuman. ## Now, the national award-winning actor has been locked to play the great warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the epic historical action drama film titled The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, to be directed by producer turned director Sandeep Singh. ## The film was announced on Tuesday, December 3 with the first look poster featuring Shetty as the Maratha King. The makers have also locked the worldwide release date as 21 January 2027 in multiple languages. Box Office: 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' and 'Singham Again' Collectively Top 500 Crore Net Collection

Mumbai, December 1 - After a dull couple of months post-Stree 2's mega success in August, the festival of Diwali brought good luck for the Bollywood film industry in November, thanks to the two of the most-waited films - Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again. ## Rohit Shetty's directorial cop action drama Singham 3, starring Ajay Devgn, was the bigger film. However, it was Kartik Aaryan's horror comedy that rocked the show and won the clash with a superb collection in India and worldwide. SA though wasn't too far and did reasonably well at the box office.## Even after 4 weeks of release, both films doing well on a day-wise basis at the domestic box office, and thanks to that, their combined net collection has topped 500 crores making it the biggest Diwali ever at the Indian box office. ## Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has emerged as a super hit and through the 5th Saturday (30th day), it has minted approximately 255+ crores net collection. On the other hand, Singham Again is an average-to-hit venture with around 245 crores net collection in the same number of days. ## As reported earlier, BB3 is the biggest grosser for Kartik Aaryan as well as for director Anees Bazmee and the rest of the main cast. Vicky Kaushal's 'Chhaava' and Shahid Kapoor's 'Deva' Get New Release Dates

Mumbai, November 27 - Vicky Kaushal's historical action drama Chhaava has been postponed to February 2025. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, was supposed to hit the big screen on December 6 and was to clash with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule before Maddock Films decided to shift the release. ## Produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, Chhaava will now be released on February 14. The release date holds special significance since it coincides with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on 19 February. The movie is an adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant and is based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, played by Vicky Kaushal.## Chhaava also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai Bhonsale and Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb along with others in key roles.## Meanwhile, the postponement of Chhaava to February 14, 2025, means Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde's action thriller Deva has been moved up by a couple of weeks. Box Office: 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' Re-Release Second Weekend Collection

Mumbai, November 25 - Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta-starrer two-decade-old romantic comedy Kal Ho Naa Ho continued to impress in its re-release run at the box office amid the few other choices available. ## Directed by Nikhil Advani, the movie was re-released on November 15 and scored approximately 2.40 crores gross collection in the first week. It remained the number 1 choice in the second weekend among the re-release titles and grossed solid around 1.30 crores. ## After 10 days, the total re-release collection of KHNH is around 3.70 crores gross (3.15 crores net), making it already one of the biggest Bollywood re-release grossers of the year. Box Office: 'Karan Arjun' and 'Pushpa - The Rise' Re-Release Opening Weekend Collection

Mumbai, November 24 - There were a couple of re-releases this weekend at the Hindi box office in the form of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan-fronted cult classic Karan Arjun and Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa - The Rise of which the sequel is gearing up for December 5 release worldwide. ## Karan Arjun, directed by Rakesh Roshan, had a wide re-release with over 2000 shows scheduled daily during the opening weekend. However, the movie couldn't replicate the success of the recent Bollywood re-releases and ended with the opening of around 1 crore gross collection. ## There wasn't much movement in the collection after the opening day of around 30 lakh gross as Saturday figures were almost similar to Friday and on Sunday, the movie is expected to gross around 40 lakh. With a not-so-encouraging opening weekend after a wide re-release, Karan Arjun is unlikely to have much impact during the weekdays. ## Allu Arjun's Pushpa - The Rise also had a wide re-release this weekend in Hindi and managed to gross around 70 lakh in the opening weekend. There wasn't much awareness about the re-release of the film among the audiences so whatever it has earned is a bonus. ## The Sukumar's directorial, which was originally released in 2021, grossed around 20 lakh on its first day of re-release, followed by 25 lakh each on Saturday and Sunday. Box Office: 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' Set To Win Weekend Against 'Karan Arjun' In Re-Release

Mumbai, November 23 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's two cult classics, romantic comedy Kal Ho Naa Ho and reincarnation action drama Karan Arjun which also has superstar Salman Khan, got re-released recently but there seems to be not much interest for the letter. ## Karan Arjun (1995), directed by Rakesh Roshan, got one of the widest re-releases for a Bollywood movie, however, the anticipation seems isn't that much the makers hoped for as it is not getting much audience in theatres. ## The film grossed approximately 30 lakh on its opening day which is, even though among the top openings for a Bollywood re-release, is nowhere near the expected start considering the wide release. 'Cocktail' Sequel In The Works With Shahid Kapoor

Mumbai, November 23 - With franchises making waves at the Bollywood box office, more and more standalone films are getting sequels and the latest to join this trend is 2012's romantic comedy Cocktail which was headlined by Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. ## Directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Maddock Films with others, Cocktail was a box office hit with over 120 crores gross collection worldwide. 'Bhagam Bhag 2' Officially Confirmed

Mumbai, November 23 - The sequel to Akshay Kumar, Govinda, and Paresh Rawal's comedy entertainer Bhagam Bhag has officially been confirmed after the news first broke out recently. The OG trio will return to headline the second instalment. ## It was reported that rights for the sequel were recently acquired from Shemaroo Entertainment by Sarita Ashwin Varde of Roaring River Productions, who has also been simultaneously working on the film's script. Mumbai, November 16 - Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn share a great rapport and have come together to lend helping hands more to promote each other's films, something which is lacking among the current generation of Bollywood actors. ## Speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit on November 16, the duo was asked whether Bollywood lack unity when it comes to clashing their films, unlike South Indian cinema which often avoids big clashes. Both Akshay and Ajay agreed that there is a lack of unity in the industry but also assert that the same is not among the 90s stars. ## Ajay said that he along with Akshay, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, who all debuted around the 1990s, are there for each other when it comes to supporting each other films and never made things difficult for each other which is not the case for the current gen of actors, who, as reported many a times, don't support each other's movies.## The actor also reflects on the noble gesture by Akki towards him regarding the title of Son of Sardaar. Speaking about the same, the Tanhaji star said that the title of SOS was registered by Akshay and when he needed that title for his comic caper, the latter gave the title to him without even a blink.## Son of Sardaar (2012) later became a big box office hit and now its sequel, Son of Sardaar 2 is currently under production for the release in the first half of 2025. The project was officially confirmed Hindustan Times Summit on Saturday. ## The yet-untitled project is currently in the scripting stage. It is also not clear whether Ajay Devgn will act alongside Akshay just like his previous four directorial features. Mumbai, November 16 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor was roped in to headline Pooja Entertainment's mega-budgeted epic Ashwatthama: The Saga Continues. Kannada director Sachin B. Ravi of Avane Srimannarayana fame was on board to direct the film. ## Since the announcement, the film, however, has faced delays and challenges and now, according to the report by Mid-Day, the project has been put on hold indefinitely due to budgetary constraints. It is said that the movie was planned to be made for 500 crores but it was escalating as pre-production advanced. ## The report quoted an insider saying that the project's scale was enormous and was supposed to be shot across multiple countries. However, after they started working on it, the makers felt it was a massive challenge to make it within the planned budget.## Pooja Entertainment, on the other hand, has reportedly been in a financial crisis with back-to-back major box office flops and considering all these things, the team led to a decision to pause production until these issues could be resolved.## Shahid Kapoor, on the other hand, has reportedly moved on from this ambitious project and has started preparation for Vishal Bhardwaj's action thriller film. The actor also has OMG 2 director Amit Rai's historical action drama based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Mumbai, November 15 - Ajay Devgn is teaming up with Mission Mangal director Jagan Shakti for an action-adventure film. The yet-untitled movie will be produced by Luv Ranjan who reunites with the actor after De De Pyaar De and its upcoming sequel.## According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, the yet-untitled film is a book adaptation. It is said that the movie is based on Aseem Arora and Richa Ganesh's 2018 book, Ranger. Set against the backdrop of Bandhavgarh's sprawling wilderness, the book follows Ranger Singh, a rookie forest officer, stepping into a world rife with corruption, neglect, and an alarming tiger crisis.## Aseem Arora is adapting the book himself, however, the movie does not entirely adhere to the original material, as the makers are opting for an Indiana Jones-style narrative to make it more commercially appealing, as per Peepingmoon.com. ## Director Jagan Shakti intends to mount the movie on a massive scale with a promise to deliver a top-notch cinematic experience for the audience. The pre-production for the film has already commenced and is going on at a brisk pace as the makers are aiming to take the film on floors by January 2025. ## Ajay will start Jagan's film after completing Son of Sardar 2 which is expected to be wrapped soon. Box Office: 'Singham Again' and 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3' Collect Over 100 Crore Net Combined In The Second Week

Mumbai, November 14 - The Diwali weekend Bollywood releases, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 are battling it out to finish on top as they completed two weeks at the box office where the latter might edge past the Rohit Shetty's directorial.## After scoring over 300 crores net collection (331 crores) in the first week, both the films witnessed a collective drop of around 65% in the second one for a combined approximately 106 crores net. BB3, which legged behind by approximately 15 crores net to Singham Again after the 1st week, has reduced that gap to just 4 after the following week. ## The Kartik Aaryan-fronted horror-comedy has minted approximately 58 crores net in the second week, pushing the total collection to around 217 crores after 14 days. On the other hand, the Ajay Devgn-starrer cop action drama witnessed a bigger drop for an estimated 48 crores net second week, for around 221 crores total collection. ## Both films have collectively earned approximately 437 crores net (524 crores gross) collection in 2 weeks (14 days) and the final total is headed to finish around 500+ crores net, in which BB3 is likely to finish ahead of its fellow movie at the end of their runs. ## Meanwhile, at the worldwide box office, both Singham Again and BB3 have grossed approximately 675 crores in 2 weeks with almost equal share of contribution. ## Stay tuned...
