Box Office: 'Amaran' Becomes Sivakarthikeyan's Biggest Grosser

Chennai, November 4 - The biographical war action drama Amaran has had a sensational first weekend at the domestic and worldwide box office, exceeding expectations by a long margin. The movie is proving to be a game changer for actor Sivakarthikeyan whose rise over the last few years has been noteworthy. ## Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran grossed around 25 crores domestically in India on Sunday, which took its total collection to approximately 95.50 crores in 4 days, making it the biggest domestic grosser for the actor. By today (5th day), it will become the first 100 crore domestic grosser for the actor. ## The domestic gross includes an excellent 66.50+ crores in the home state, Tamil Nadu and it will most likely enter the 100 crore club in the state by the second weekend. Chennai, October 26 - Superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Vettaiyan, also starring Amitabh Bachchan, has entered the 100 crores gross club at the Tamil Nadu box office, becoming the second movie of 2024 to achieve the feat after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All-Time. ## Directed by T. Thalapathy Vijay's 'The Greatest of All Time' Final Worldwide Box Office Collection

Chennai, September 5 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time was released on this day last year, in 2024. Directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment, the GOAT finished its box office run as one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of all time. The GOAT was released on September 5, on Thursday and scored the second biggest opening ever for a Tamil title at the worldwide box office with 100 crores gross collection. It is also the third-biggest opening for an Indian title of 2024 after Kalki 2898 AD and Devara. The movie received a mixed reception from critics and audiences, and despite that, Thalapathy Vijay pulled off a fantastic first weekend with approximately 281 crores gross worldwide. It was, however, a different story when it came to the different parts of the country as far as the box office was concerned. The GOAT, after the not-so-encouraging reception, didn't get the desired result in Telugu states and Kerala, where Vijay's popularity was soaring. The actor's last film, Leo, did wonders in AP/TG and Kerala with over 100 crores gross, but this time, things weren't the same as The GOAT minted only 27 crores gross approx. in those states. In Karnataka and the Hindi belt, the GOAT did reasonably well, but it was once again the home state, Tamil Nadu, where the movie was just unstoppable and turned out to be the biggest grosser ever there with over 217 crores gross. Overseas, the movie performed exceptionally well against all odds, displaying the sheer stardom of Thalapathy Vijay. Overall, The GOAT minted over 450 crores globally, which includes 372 crores gross from Tamil Nadu and overseas collections. Additionally, the movie sold approximately 1.77 crores of tickets in India, which makes it the most-watched Tamil title of 2024. Chennai, October 3 - Legendary Kamal Haasan and maverick director S. Shankar reunited for Indian 2, the sequel to their cult blockbuster Indian (1996), in July this year. The sequel was split into two parts with the second part, Indian 3, confirmed to hit the screens early 2025. ## Indian 2 was released amid huge anticipation, however, it soon turned into a massive disappointment for the makers as well as fans. The movie met with disaster reviews and public talks which severely impacted its box office. Despite the big opening, the movie ended up as a huge failure with approximately 150 crores gross collection worldwide. ## Now, according to the latest buzz in Tamil media, the makers are considering a direct digital release of Indian 3 after the lukewarm response to its predecessor. Chennai, October 1 - Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up to commence the final film before his political entry. Tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, the movie was officially announced recently with H. Vinoth getting the chance to direct arguably the biggest superstar of Tamil cinema. ## The leading Kannada production house, KVN Productions is making its debut in Tamil cinema with T69 and the studio announced on October 1 that the cast of the film will be announced over the next three days. Meanwhile, ahead of the official confirmation, some of the names have already been revealed. ## According to the latest Tamil media reports, Pooja Hegde has been cast to play the female lead, reuniting with Vijay after Beast (2022). Box Office: 'The Greatest of All Time' Becomes The Highest-Grossing Movie In Tamil Nadu

Chennai, September 29 - Thalapathy Vijay's action thriller The Greatest of All Time has slowed down at the box office, but not before emerging as a success and creating an all-time record in the home state, Tamil Nadu.## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT has become the highest-grossing movie in Tamil Nadu, beating Thalapathy Vijay's Leo which grossed approximately 215+ crores in the state. It has crossed Leo's collection on its 25th day (4th Sunday). ## On its 4th Thursday (22nd day), The GOAT outgrossed Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1's 213 crores gross collection in the state. It has been a sensational blockbuster in Tamil Nadu as well as the overseas box office despite the mixed reviews. ## The AGS Entertainment production has grossed 448 crores at the worldwide box office, including approximately 292.25 crores in India and 155.75 crores overseas through 4th Saturday (24 days).
