Box Office: KGF Chapter 2 Beats Thalapathy Vijay's Beast To Become Highest-Grossing Movie of 2022 In Tamil Nadu
Chennai, May 15 - The Indian movie of the year, KGF Chapter 2 continues to score big at the box office, setting new benchmarks for the upcoming films. The Yash-starrer is nearing Rs. 1200 crores worldwide gross which will make it only the third Indian film ever to reach there. ## Meanwhile, the Prashanth Neel-directed movie has become the highest-grossing movie of 2022 in Tamil Nadu state. The period action drama has beaten Thalapathy Vijay's, Beast, to become the top Tamil Nadu grosser of the year. Interestingly, KGF 2 is a Kannada origin movie that was dubbed in Tamil and other Indian languages. ## As for the box office records, the Pan-India monster has grossed 112.45 crores in Tamil Nadu through the fifth Saturday (31 days) while, on the other hand, Beast has grossed 112.20 crores in its home state. Ajith Kumar's, Valimai is the 3rd biggest-grosser of the year in the state with approx. 107 crores. ## It is indeed a special achievement for KGF 2 makers to see their movie topping Tamil Nadu box office, that too by outscoring Thalapathy Vijay's film.
