Kantara Chapter 1 Makers Spark Dispute In Hindi Belt With Unreasonable Showcasing Demands Against Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari

Mumbai, September 26 - The Dussehra 2025 box office clash between South biggie Kantara Chapter 1 and the much-awaited Bollywood romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari seems to be taking an ugly turn after the makers demand exclusive excessive showcasing for the Kantara prequel. With less than a week to go before the release, the makers of both films are leaving no stone unturned to make their films reach the maximum audience, and in between, a dispute over showcasing has started making headlines. According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, AA Films, the distributors of Kanatar 2, have sent an email to the exhibitors regarding their requirement for the shows. It is said that "they have demanded that all shows in single-screen and 12 shows in two-screen cinemas. The latter also amounts to all shows; they mention the same clearly in the mail to avoid any confusion. Shockingly, they have also asked for 18 shows in three-screen multiplexes, which, in other words, also amounts to every show." The Kantara makers are very well aware that Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor's Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumar is releasing on the same day, yet they have asked for such a showcase in the Hindi belt, which is not just unreasonable, but also laughable. An exhibitor, on condition of anonymity, told Bollywood Hungama, "I don't agree with this unreasonable demand. We understand that Kantara is a highly anticipated film. But then, even Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari also looks like a fun entertainer, which will attract family audiences and youth. Hence, I'd like to play that film as well." The report further states that AA Films has demanded 100% shows in IMAX properties, along with a higher percentage of shows in theatres with 4-screens and beyond. Mahavatar Narsimha Sets Up OTT Release After Box Office Glory

Mumbai, September 19 - Kaleem Productions and Hombale Films Mahavatar Narsimha has completed its glorious box office run, emerging as the biggest Indian animated blockbuster of all-time by a massive margin. The movie is directed by Ashwin Kumar. The first film in the 7-part planned Mahavatar Cinematic Universe was released amid low hype, but it did well at the box office was unthinkable. Made on a modest budget of around 10-15 crores, the movie went on to become one of the highest-grossing titles of the year with over 300 crores worldwide. After completing its dream run, Mahavatar Narsimha began streaming on Netflix on September 19. It has been in theatres for 8 weeks, which is mandatory for a Hindi film. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film brings both the Jollys together for the first time, which has increased the stakes and expectations. The film's advance booking has progressed slowly but with a steady pace, as it has so far collected around 2.15 crores gross (without block seats) for the opening day. With the last few hours left for the release, the momentum in the sales is picking up, and it is expected to surpass or come near the advance of Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par (3.31 crores for Day 1). In a shocking development, the largest multiplex chain in India, PVR-INOX, has halted advance bookings for this courtroom comedy drama. The theatre chain had opened the bookings for the weekend, but gradually started stopping them since Wednesday evening (September 17). It is said that the issue is regarding V.P.F. (Virtual Print Fees), which is being resolved now, and the bookings will be live anytime soon. "A meeting will be held between the two parties on Thursday at 10:00 am.
