Despite limited expectations before release and poor critics' reviews, the film picked up strong word-of-mouth, especially among young audiences, and sustained remarkably well over the weeks.

The film, directed by Milap Zaveri, ended its India net journey at an impressive 79 crore, a result far beyond initial industry projections.
