Mumbai, July 27 - Shamshera continues to falter ahead as the early estimated collections for the first Wednesday suggest 2.25 crores net which is a disaster collection for such a massive canvas film. The first Wednesday collections will take the entire collections of Shamshera to a little under 40cr net box office collections and there will be too few collections to come from here and the film might even struggle to reach the 50cr net box office mark. The fate of the film was sealed on the first day only when the film took an underwhelming opening being a frontloaded-mass film that is all about initials. Mumbai, July 27 - Yet another Yash Raj Films production bites the dust as period action drama "Shamshera" failed to make any impact at the box office. The film, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Vaani Kapoor, was largely hit by the poor reviews from critics. ## Karan Malhotra directed this biggie which is his 3rd directorial. While his first two films "Agneepath" (2012), and "Brothers" (2015) were commercially successful, the latest film couldn't extend his winning run as it crashed, earning approx. 37 crores net 5 days.## Opening up on the failure of the film, Karan Malhotra has penned a note referring to the character of the film played by Ranbir. Box Office: Shamshera First Tuesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 26 - Shamshera has been rejected at the box office and how. The daily collections of the film suggest that this sort of rejection of a huge film was last seen in Ranbir Kapoor's film 2015 Bombay Velvet. There is Samrat Prithviraj from the same banner just a few weeks back but at least Samrat Prithiviraj had shown a decent trajectory over the first weekend and after the weekend the film did not crash like Shamshera. The first Tuesday collections are set to be around 2.50cr net box office collections as far as early estimates are concerned. This will take the total collections of the film to a little over 37 crores net mark and there will be too little to come from now onwards. The film might struggle to reach even 50cr net box office collections which will be a shocking thing, to say the least. There will be many excuses and blame games but the biggest negative point of the film was the content which did not cater to the mass audience of Hindi states. On top, Ranbir Kapoor does not have a mass following which is a must for a frontloaded film. Then comes music which could not help the film to build some initial hype. Mumbai, July 26 - Director Om Raut has signed a multi-film deal with producer Bhushan Kumar's T-Series. The duo is currently working on, probably the biggest film for them, Prabhas-fronted "Adipurush", and it is said that Bhushan Kumar left super impressive with Raut and signed him for more films. ## Om Raut made his Hindi directorial debut with Ajay Devgn's "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior", which was co-produced by T-Series. The film became a massive hit and Om Raut's direction was praised to the top. On top of that, the movie was awarded National Award for Best Film in Providing Wholesome Entertainment along with Devgn winning the Best Actor award. ## The deal between Om Raut and T-Series is said to be existing much before the release of Tanhaji and now, the duo is further strengthening their collaboration by doing more films together. ## It has been reported that Bhushan Kumar has great belief in Om Raut's vision as a filmmaker and has provided him with the budgets that justify the scale of the film. Mumbai, July 25 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has put a brake on the speculations regarding the title of his next film that is currently in production under the direction of Farhad Samji. Pooja Hegde is playing the female lead in the film. ## The movie was originally announced as "Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali", however, after Sajid Nadiadwala parted ways from the movie, it was reported that Salman Khan changed the title to "Bhaijaan". Mumbai, July 25 - Shamshera is moving towards a low day at the box office after a below-average opening weekend of around 32 crores net. As per the early estimates, the movie scored approx. 3.75 cr. net on its first Monday (4th day). The drop from the first day or first Sunday is massive as both the first day and first Sunday had similar collections. The drop is not a problem but the drop is coming after a very low starting point for such a massive film makes it a disaster of epic proportion. The first Monday collections will take the entire collections of Shamshera to over 35cr net box office mark and there will be too little to come from hereon. 'Jai Bhim' Director TJ Gnanavel To Make His Bollywood Debut With 'Dosa King'

Gnanavel, who famously directed the Suriya-starrer "Jai Bhim". "Dosa King" marks his debut in Bollywood cinema. ## "Dosa King" is inspired by a woman called Jeevajothi Santhakumar and her tribulation with a restaurant mogul and hotelier P. Rajagopal, an accused in a 2001 murder case. P. Rajagopal was accused of a crime that shocked the nation resulting in a conviction after a trial that went on for 18 years - P.Rajagopal v. State of Tamil Nadu.## Sharing his excitement, Gnanavel, said, "I've observed the subject closely, following the case during my days as a journalist. An Indian restaurateur, better known as a family man who was worshipped for his huge-hearted generosity by not only his employees but also by the diners.## As per media reports, Rajagopal, who was the founder of the popular South Indian food chain - Saravana Bhavan, wanted to marry Jeevajothi, who was the daughter of one of his employees at his restaurant. ## Jeevajothi, however, was already married. To change things in his favor, Rajagopal hatched a criminal conspiracy to eliminate her husband, Prince Santhakumar. And in 2001, Prince Santhakumar was murdered and his body was found in Kodaikanal city of Karnataka. Rajagopal was eventually convicted for the murder of Jeevajothi Santhakumar's husband by the Supreme Court, a justice that was delivered almost two decades after the crime.## Junglee Pictures acquired the rights for the story of Jeevajothi Santhakumar in July 2021. The collections are likely to be between 10.50-10.75cr net box office collections. There was a hope that the film will see a growth of around 50% on Sunday as the first two days' collections were low but the numbers on Sunday shocked the entire trade. The first-weekend collection is just a little over 31 crores mark. There is no center that is recording even a decent footfall. Getting this sort of low collection with this sort of ticket pricing is nothing but disastrous. Delhi-NCR which was leading from the front in collections has started getting hit by bad word of mouth. Mumbai, July 24 - The Bollywood film industry had pinned high hopes on Ranbir Kapoor's period action drama film Shamshera to break the jinx of Bollywood films not being able to take the big openings during the covid-19 pandemic. When the advance booking of the film started, it looked like the movie would sure take a very good opening, but, things didn't go as planned as the movie failed to make an impact at the box office. ## "Shamshera" was Yash Raj Films' biggest hope in its current slot, but just like most of the Bollywood films during the covid-19 pandemic, the movie ended up taking an underwhelming start of 10.25 crores net, which is almost half of what trade pundits had predicted.## The underwhelming start at the box office of this Karan Malhotra-directed is not a case with it only, as most Bollywood films have struggled to take a good start since the Rs. 26.29 crores opening of Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi last year. Since the release of "Sooryavanshi", not a single Bollywood movie has been able to crack the 20 crores mark on an opening day, forget about going past Rohit Shetty-directorial. ## Before the covid-19 pandemic broke out in India in early 2020, taking a big opening was a cakewalk for Bollywood films featuring top stars, but now, the opening of "Sooryavanshi" has become a dream number to crack for the largest Indian film industry. Aamir Khan's "Laal Singh Chaddha", which is slated to release on August 11, is the next big Bollywood release. However, it is also not looking to reach or cross the cop action drama, which is shocking, to say the least. But, an Aamir Khan film should never be ruled out as there might be an unexpected surprise. We have to wait for that a couple of more weeks.## Among the upcoming films, director Ayan Mukerji's epic "Brahmastra Part One: Shiva" is really looking highly promising and should be able to take a huge opening and might breach the 30 crores mark for the first since "War" (2019).
