Shah Rukh Khan To Begin Rajkumar Hirani's Social Drama After Pathan

Even before the official announcement, Shah Rukh Khan's comeback film, tentatively titled 'Pathan', is creating a lot of buzz. However, one can be assured as the movie is happening and is already on floors. Pathan is not the only film, Shah Rukh Khan will headline, according to reports, he has multiple projects in his kitty, though, he is not in any kind of rush to sign all of them.## Apart from Pathan, SRK's film with the director Rajkumar Hirani is keenly awaited. The movie was reportedly scheduled to go on floors around Diwali last year, however, due to the pandemic situation, and Pathan, the film which is said to be a social drama, couldn't start that time. Now, according to reports, Khan has given his dates post-Pathan, and it is set to begin around mid-this year. ## "It's known to all that SRK is doing Rajkumar Hirani's film but there was no clarity when the film will get off the ground as the filmmaker was taking so much time in scripting. However, things are finally locked now and the film is all geared up to hit the floors in June 2021. Hirani has already got his team ready and will soon begin the recce and other pre-production work officially", a source quoted in Peepingmoon.com said. ## "SRK will complete Hirani's film by October and only after that he is expected to dive into any new project. SRK has given his nod to Atlee's commercial potboiler too but he hasn't signed that film yet. Moreover, his film with Raj & DK that was rumored last year is not happening now", the source further added. ## Meanwhile, the report also stated that Taapsee Pannu who featured in SRK's home production Badla (2019) has been roped in to play the female lead. She is more or less finalized and will sign on the dotted lines once the shooting timelines are locked. ## On the larger note, Shah Rukh Khan is marking his comeback after 2 years with Pathan. His last outing, Zero was a box office disaster that led SRK to take some time off before doing his next film. SRK will be headlining Pathan alongside John Abraham and Deepika Padukone. A Biopic On Col Narinder 'Bull' Kumar's Life Story Announced

Producers Ramon Chibb and Anku Pande have announced a biopic on late Colonel Narinder 'Bull' Kumar, who carried out reconnaissance trips to Siachen before Operation Meghdoot of the Indian Army in 1984. Titled "Bull", the film will depict the life of the late hero who helped the Indian Army claim critical forward posts of the Siachen Glacier as part of the operation. ## Rights for a biopic have been acquired by producers Ramon Chibb and Anku Pande, although no official announcement has yet been made about the casting of the film, which is written by Balwinder Singh Janjua.## Chibb, an ex-army officer, is incidentally from the same regiment as Colonel Narinder Kumar and has spent hours with the late army man.## "We are elated as a team to be the ones to bring this extremely amazing story of heroism and true leadership to the screens soon. With Ronnie Screwvala coming on board as producer, and Shahid Kapoor leading the cast, Mehra is now all set to liven up his passion project".## Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra will apparently get into the preparation for Karna after finishing the post-production work of his Farhan Akhtar and Mrunal Thakur starrer Toofan that's scheduled to release in theatres mid-this year. Now, it has been reported that Akshay Kumar starrer cop-drama, Sooryavanshi has been decided to release in theaters on the occasion of Holi while Ranveer Singh's 83 will be releasing 3 weeks after Rohit Shetty directorial. ## ICYDK, Akshay Kumar's spy-thriller, Bell Bottom has already been scheduled for a theatrical release on April 2, however, as per the latest development, the Ranjit M Tewari directorial will have to make way for Sooryavanshi as makers won't want to release both the movies in the time period of just a week. It means, Bell Bottom can only be released in June. 51st Edition Of IFFI Gets Underway On Saturday In Goa

India's biggest and oldest international film event, the 51st edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), gets underway on Saturday in Goa and will be inaugurated at the hands of Southern filmstar Sudeep.## This year's edition of IFFI is being organized in a hybrid format, in wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has forced the organizers to limit attendance, both at the opening and closing events, as well as during the screening of the 224 films from nearly sixty countries, which are scheduled to be screened at the event. The festival has been curtailed to a duration of eight days this year.## Union Minister Prakash Javadekar to participate in the festival of India (IFFI), said the latest edition of the festival, beginning in the state capital from Saturday, is special. "As many as 224 films from 60 countries will feature in the festival. The event is really important from the art and culture perspective. For the first time, owing to Covid-19, this year's edition is being organized in a hybrid format. So, people will also be able to watch it online", he explained.## Some of the highlights of the event include honoring the triple Oscar winner 80-year-old Italian cinematographer who has worked on classic films like 'The Last Emperor' and 'Apocalypse Now' with the lifetime achievement award.## "The festival will be conducted in the hybrid format, where movies will be screened in the auditorium and some of the sections are curated for the online platform," Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Friday.## "All pandemic protocols will be followed according to the MHA guidelines. The total seating capacity has also been reduced," Sawant also said, adding that around 199 screenings would be organized in the physical format, out of which 85 are national and international movie premiers.## Stay tuned...
