Los Angeles, March 5 - Warner Bros. "The Batman" is off to a flying start at the domestic box office (North America) with $57 million on Friday, including $21.6 million Thursday previews.

The Robert Pattinson-fronted received a strong A- Cinema Score. The DC superhero movie is eyeing the 3-day opening weekend launch between $120-$130 million.

It will easily score the second-best domestic opening of the pandemic era behind only "Spider-Man: No Way Home", which debuted to an extraordinary $260.1 million in mid-December.

As per Hollywood trade analyst, "The Batman's" Friday total is the 5th biggest for a March month release and 35th biggest of all time.

"The Batman" is rated PG-13 and budgeted $200 million. The movie centers on Bruce Wayne's earlier days of fighting crime and is a rogues' gallery of Batman characters. Paul Dano plays the Riddler, a serial killer pursued by Batman, while Zoë Kravitz plays Catwoman and Colin Farrell appears as the Penguin.

This film is directed by Matt Reeves and produced by DC Films, and 6th and Idaho Productions, and distributed by Warner Bros.
