Mumbai, June 28, 2021: The leading streaming platform, Netflix is going big in acquiring streaming rights for some of India's most-awaited films across languages.
While the streaming giant has already begged post-theatrical streaming of SS Rajamouli's magnum opus, RRR (Hindi), it has now grabbed Prabhas starrer Radhe Shyam and Ranveer Singh's Cirkus for post-theatrical release rights.
Radhe Shyam is a period romance film, directed by Radha Krishna Kumar. Pooja Hegde will be romancing Prabhas in the film that is touted to be a different kind of romantic film. Produced by UV Creations and T-Series, the movie is being shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages.
On the other hand, Cirkus is a comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty. It is the first outright comedy film for Shetty outside the Golmaal franchise. Pooja Hegde is again playing the female lead opposite Ranveer Singh in the film along with Jacqueline Fernandez. Produced by T-Series, Reliance Entertainment, and Rohit Shetty Picturez, Cirkus is expected to release on 31st December 2021.
It is said that Netflix has offered huge prices for Radhe Shyam and Cirkus. While Hindi streaming rights of Radhe Shyam go to Netflix, other languages post-theatrical rights are said to be sold to Zee5. The satellite rights of Radhe Shyam are also bagged by Zee Network for all languages.
