Hyderabad, January 12 - The release date of Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has been the talk of the town since the morning of January 12 due to its unique way of the announcement.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic has been confirmed to hit big screens on May 9, 2024, but more than the date, it is the unique way of its announcement making rounds on social media, which is turning out to be a fantastic move by the makers to generate buzz leading to the film's release date.



It is revealed that Vyjayanthi Movies has sent a ground a people in the raider costumes featured in the film across Indian cities like Varanasi, Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh, Chennai, Madurai, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Bhimavaram, Kashmir and Vijayawada to unveil the release date with the official poster.

The whole thing of announcing the release date in such a way has taken the people to a pleasant surprise and it seems that move has worked wonders as people are talking about it on social media. One of the groups was also seen promoting the release date outside superstar Shah Rukh Khan's house, Mannat.

Made on a budget of around $75 million (600+ crores), Kalki 2898 AD is one of the most expensive Indian films of all time. May 9 also has significant importance in Vyjayanthi Movies' cinematic journey as on this date in the past, iconic films "Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari" to the award-winning "Mahanati" and "Maharshi", were released by the studio.



Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani in prominent roles.
