Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE, officially joined the ranks of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) at the "Dynamite Big Business" event.
Mone, a Boston native, received a thunderous welcome from the cheering crowd chanting "CEO," her signature nickname. Addressing the audience, an emotional Mone expressed her gratitude for their unwavering support. She acknowledged wrestling's profound impact on her life, shaping her dream of becoming the world's best wrestler.
Mone emphasized her strong desire to be part of AEW, driven by her ambition to propel the women's wrestling scene to a global stage. Anticipating her upcoming matches, Mone hinted at unfinished business with fellow wrestler Willow Nightingale.
She ended up saying, "Please say hello to your new CEO."
This appearance marks Mone's return to the ring after an ankle injury sustained in May 2023 during a match against Nightingale at NJPW STRONG Resurgence.
Mone's wrestling journey began in WWE, where she achieved great success. However, her departure in May 2022, alongside Naomi, sent shockwaves through the industry. Following her WWE exit, Mone ventured into the world of NJPW, confronting reigning champion KAIRI (Kairi Sane) at Wrestle Kingdom in January 2024. Her reign as IWGP Women's Champion was short-lived, as she ultimately lost the title to Mayu Iwatani at Stardom All-Star Grand Queendom.
