Kamal Haasan Reveals Why He Accepted Villain Role In Prabhas-Fronted 'Project K' Aka 'Kalki 2898 AD'

San Diego, July 21 - In one of the historical moments in the history of Indian cinema, Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic "Project K", now "Kalki 2898 AD" became the first Indian movie to hit San Diego Cinema-Con's Hall H where the first look title glimpse of the movie revealed.
Legendary actor Kamal Haasan will be playing the main villain role in the film and he revealed why accepted to play the antagonist during the event which was also attended by Prabhas with director Nag Ashwin and producer C. Aswani Dutt while legendary Amitabh Bachchan joined them via Zoom. Baahubali star Rana Daggubati was also there with the "Project K" team as an unofficial moderator for the panel.
"The reason I accepted this film is because I come from analogous cinema. Without a negative, there's no positive... So, a negative role is an important role in a film", Kamal Haasan said while explaining his thought process behind picking the negative role in "Kalki 2898 AD".
The first look glimpse into the world of "Kalki" promises never before seen in Indian cinema. It is over-the-top, heroic, and chest-thumpingly epic which gives the first look into the character of Prabhas and Deepika Padukone who plays the female lead role.
"Kalki 2898 AD" a.k.a "Project K" is directed by Nag Ashwin and is produced by C. Aswani Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies. The budget of the film is said to be around 600 crores ($75M), making it one of the costliest Indian movies ever.
The movie stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Disha Patani in prominent roles. It is scheduled to release in 2024.
