'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' Scores Big On Netflix In The Opening Weekend

Mumbai, May 10 - Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-fronted romantic comedy film Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar continues to attract audiences, this time on the digital platform.
After the big box office success, Luv Ranjan's directorial movie debuted on Netflix on May 3rd and was the second most-viewed non-English film worldwide during the week of May 1 - May 7.
The movie scored 11.35 million viewing hours in its 5-day opening weekend, which is one of the biggest post-theatrical digital debuts for an Indian film. Previously, Alia Bhatt's "Gangubai Kathiawadi" debuted with higher viewership at 13.81 million viewing hours after its theatrical release last year on Netflix.
SS Rajamouli's global sensation "RRR" had scored 7.18 million viewing hours in its opening weekend on Netflix in May 2022. Talking about TJMM, it is probably the second most viewed Indian title in the opening weekend on the streamer after the theatrical release.
TJMM is trending in the top 10 in 24 countries, including number 1 in India, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, and Mauritius. Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Australia, New Zealand, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, Kenya, Morocco, and Nigeria are among the countries where TJMM is in the top 10.
The movie is produced by Luv Films, and T-Series and stars Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the leading roles, alongside Dimple Kapadia and Anubhav Singh Bassi in key supporting roles. It was released theatrically on March 8 this year and grossed over 220 crores worldwide.
