'The Legend of Maula Jatt' Outscores 'RRR' And 'KGF 2' At The UK Box Office

London, November 8 - The Pakistani Punjabi-language action drama film The Legend of Maula Jatt is having a dream record-breaking run at the worldwide box office. It has already become the highest-grossing Pakistani film of all time and the first to reach PKR100 crores worldwide.
Directed by Bilal Lashari, "The Legend Of Maula Jatt" achieved the milestone of PKR 100 crores within just two weeks. The worldwide gross total collection of the film currently stands at approx. PKR172 crores through the 4th Sunday, including 62 crores in Pakistan and PKR110 crores overseas.
Meanwhile, at the UK box office, the Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan-fronted film has outscored Indian mega-blockbusters "KGF: Chapter 2" (£1.14M), "Brahmastra Part One: Shiva" (£1.03M) and "RRR" (£977k) to become the second biggest South Asian film in the UK in 2022. It has grossed approx. £1.20 million so far.
TLOMJ is the first Pakistani movie ever to breach the £1 million mark at the UK box office. It is now aiming to cross Mani Ratnam's "Ponniyin Selvan Part - 1" which grossed £1.34 million. It has been made in the budget of approx. PKR50 crores, which makes it the costliest Pakistani movie ever.
"The Legend of Maula Jatt" follows the titular Maula Jatt, a fierce prizefighter with a tortured past who seeks vengeance against his arch nemesis Noori Natt, the most feared warrior in the land of Punjab. Loyalties are challenged and families have torn apart in an epic tale of truth, honor, and justice.
The movie is an adaption of the 1979 Pakistani cult classic film "Maula Jatt" and stars Fawad Khan as the titular character with Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and Humaima Malik in prominent roles. It is produced by AAA Motion Pictures, Geo Films, and Mandiwala Entertainment.
