Thalapathy Vijay's 'Beast' Banned In Kuwait But Cleared To Release In The UAE

Chennai, April 6 - Thalapathy Vijay's forthcoming action thriller, "Beast" has been banned to release in the Middle East country, Kuwait. Recently, Malayalam blockbuster "Kurup" and Tamil hit "FIR" were also banned in the country.

As per the industry sources, the reason behind the decision of banning "Beast" in Kuwait could be the portrayal of Pakistan's terrorism and violence. In the recent past, Kuwait's censor board has become strict for Indian movies as compared to the other GCC countries.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates has cleared "Beast" for release in the country with PG 15 certificate. It will be released there on the same date and date in India on April 13. UAE had also permitted the Hindi movie "The Kashmir Files" recently for release without any cut for 18+ after initial objection.

Written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, "Beast" revolves around a spy's quest to rescue people held hostage in a shopping mall by terrorists. Thalapathy Vijay plays the role of RAW agent, Veera Raghavan. Pooja Hegde features as the female lead while Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, and Redin Kingsley play supporting roles.

Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures has produced the film while the music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and the cinematography was handled by Manoj Paramahamsa. It will be released on April 13 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
