Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' Becomes 4th Indian Movie of 2023 To Hit 3 Crore Footfalls

Mumbai, December 18 - Ranbir Kapoor-led mega-blockbuster Animal has unlocked another milestone at the box office by becoming only the 4th Indian film of 2023 and 6th since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to achieve 3 crore footfalls in India.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal crossed 3 crore admissions in theatres on its 17th day with approx. 3.05 crores of footfalls so far. In 2023, it is the 4th movie after Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Jawan, and Sunny Deol-led Gadar 2 to hit this milestone.
SS Rajamouli's RRR was the first Indian film since the pandemic to score 3 crores footfalls, followed by KGF: Chapter 2. Both movies were released in 2022, and both went on to score over 4 crores in footfalls each while KGF 2 took a step further by hitting the 5 crores footfalls mark.
In Indian cinema history, over 80+ movies have sold 3 crores or more tickets each, including 4 movies with 10+ crores tickets each, and at least 10 movies with 5+ crores tickets each. Animal is looking to finish over 3.25+ crores admissions in the final run.
Animal, meanwhile, is nearing 850 crores gross collection worldwide. It scored around 835 crores gross through 3rd Sunday (17 days), including approx. 610 crores gross in India alone. The movie is heading towards finishing around 925 crores worldwide in its lifetime run.
