Directed by Aditya Dhar, the action spectacle turned into a worldwide phenomenon during its theatrical run and emerged as the second-highest-grossing Indian film ever made. After dominating cinemas for weeks, audiences are now eagerly waiting to watch the blockbuster from the comfort of their homes.

Dhurandhar 2 OTT Release Date and Streaming Partner

Although the makers are yet to officially announce the streaming premiere date, the film is expected to arrive on the platform sometime this month (May 2026), most probably in the third week of May. It has increasingly become a norm that Bollywood films arrive on digital platforms after 8 weeks of theatrical run. The film will complete an 8-week window on May 13, and it may arrive anytime soon after that. JioHotstar has the streaming rights of the movie, a change in strategy after the first Dhurandhar debuted on Netflix after a theatrical run.

What To Expect From Streaming Release

Dhurandhar, which was released in theatres in December last year, was a massive success for Netflix despite most of the target audience watching it in theatres. The film pulled off massive box office numbers as one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever, with 1300+ crores worldwide, but what led to a huge response on Netflix was also the curiosity around Dhurandhar 2, which released in theatres on March 19. It clocked nearly 32 million views, making it one of the most-watched Indian films on streaming.

While the makers are expecting similar numbers for Dhurandhar 2 on JioHotstar, that might not be possible due to various reasons. The film doesn't have the advantage of curiosity, unlike the first film, for which the anticipation for part two led to big numbers. Secondly, a higher number of people than Dhurandhar has already watched the sequel in theatres, so that may also reduce the digital views for the film.

The OTT release of Dhurandhar 2 is still expected to become a major event in itself, considering the unprecedented box office run, but it might not be able to pull off similar numbers to the first film. Even though the expectations are high, scoring such big numbers again is unlikely to happen.
