Mumbai, September 27 - It was inevitable, and if all goes well, the historical year 2022 is awaits for not only the Bollywood film industry but also the Indian cinema. For one and a half years, the biggest film industry in the country, Bollywood was in desperate need of someone to show them the light of a long dark tunnel. And it seems happening, finally, thanks to the rapid nationwide vaccination against the deadly covid-19, and the long-awaited announcement of theater reopening in Maharashtra, the key market for Hindi cinema.

Need not to say that the Bollywood industry was trending throughout the day yesterday (September 26) for the big release announcements, a day after the government of Maharashtra permitted theaters to operate from October 22. While there will a lot of action for movie buffs throughout the next year, the busy schedule also invites big box office clashes for Bollywood filmmakers, which is perhaps the last thing they want.



Over the next 7-8 months, Bollywood will release at least 20 movies along with dubbed big movies in theaters. This also means that there will be a little window between the two movies during this period, which may affect the lifetime business of these movies. And above all, there are a few big-budget films, which will be clashing with upcoming Marvel and DC superhero movies at the box office. Marvel is the most popular overseas franchise and has a loyal and big fanbase in India.

Sooryavanshi vs Eternals - 5 November 2021 (Diwali)



Diwali 2021 is perfectly poised to witness the biggest Box office clash of the year. Rohit Shetty-directed cop thriller "Sooryavanshi" starring Akshay Kumar in the titular role, is easily the most-awaited Hindi film. However, it won't be that easy for it at the box office as it will be up against Marvel's "Eternals", which is also arriving this Diwali. "Eternals" will introduce new superheroes in MCU and fans are eager to watch them on the big screens.

Bachchan Pandey vs Batman - 4 March 2022

Akshay Kumar will once again face superhero in this box office battle. The superstar's action-comedy "Bachchan Pandey", also starring Kriti Sanon among others, will head on DC's "Batman", which is the reboot of this iconic superhero franchise and features Robert Pattinson as the Batman for the first time.



Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 vs Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness - 25 March 2022

Another Phase 4 Marvel pic will be having a direct clash with a Bollywood biggie. The superhero film, "Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness" starring Benedict Cumberbatch, which is touted to be one of the finest films in MCU, will take on Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" on March 25.
