Bengaluru, May 2 - Superstar Yash-fronted Kannada origin movie, "KGF Chapter 2" has truly been a Pan-India blockbuster. It is very rare for a movie to score big box office numbers in multiple languages but "KGF Chapter 2" has been able to do that. It has become the first movie ever to score 100 crores gross collection each in 4 Indian languages. ## Directed by Prashanth Neel, "KGF Chapter 2" was delayed multiple times due to the covid-19 pandemic, but the craze among the fans was never dropped despite the forced delays. In fact, the buzz around this movie kept increasing, especially among the Hindi audiences. As a result of the out of the roof hype, "KGF 2" is now the 4th highest-grossing Indian film of all time at the worldwide box office. ## "KGF 2", at the domestic box office, has achieved the rarest of rare achievements by crossing 100 crores gross each in the three dubbed versions (Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu) along with original Kannada languages. Unsurprisingly, the Hindi version of the film is leading the collection of "KGF 2" by a long margin. The Hindi version has grossed 440 crores through the 3rd Monday (May 3). ## After Hindi, the original Kannada version was always going to be the second-best contributor to the movie and it has done exactly by grossing approx. 150 crores so far in India alone. It has also become the highest-grossing film ever in Kannada, by crossing "KGF Chapter 1" (2018). ## The Telugu version of the film has so far grossed approx. 125 crores followed by Tamil with 100 crores gross. Overall, "KGF 2" has grossed approx. 860+ crores at the domestic box office for all languages while overseas, it has minted approx. 180 crores gross through third Monday. It is currently the 4th highest-grossing Indian movie ever with a worldwide gross of 1040 crores. It is the second Indian movie of 2022 to cross 1000 crores gross, after SS Rajamouli's "RRR". ## Meanwhile, the previous record of scoring 100+ crores in most Indian languages belonged to SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2 The Conclusion". Mumbai, May 3 - The long-awaited historical action drama film, "Prithviraj" is getting ready for June 3rd worldwide release. In the movie, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar plays celebrated Rajput emperor Prithviraj Chauhan along with Manushi Chhillar, who makes her Hindi film debut playing the role of Sanyogita. ## Written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the movie is based on medieval poet Chand Bardai's epic poem Prithviraj Raso. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij, and Lalit Tiwari in other important characters. Director Dwivedi in a recent interview spoke about the movie and called it his dream project that has been a long time coming. ## "Prithviraj is my dream project. Hyderabad, May 2 - Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan's action drama film "Acharya" was released amid much curiosity among the fans. The movie did take a huge opening of 51 crores worldwide gross, however, the box office result after the first day turned out to be shockingly disastrous. ## Directed by Koratala Siva, the movie got bad reviews and it is termed the weakest film in director Siva's filmography. As a result of the bad reviews and negative word of mouth, the movie plumbed massively on the second day and grossed just 10 crores with a huge drop of 76%.## There was no respite for the film on Sunday as well as it further dropped to 7.70 crores gross and registered a disappointing opening weekend with 61.10 crores gross at the domestic box office. Overseas, it scored approx. 11 crores gross, pushing worldwide cume to 72 crores. With a look at it, 72 crores worldwide gross in just 3 days sounds big numbers, but the huge drop on the second day itself and with no way going forward, is going to cause major losses to the distributors. ## The movie was valued at approx. 140 crores gross in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh & Telangana), but it seems it will be difficult for the movie to score even 50 crores AP/TG share in its lifetime run. As of now, for the first three days, the AP/TG share of "Acharya" is 38.77 crores, and as per industry insiders, the exhibitors are expected to lose approx. 80 crores. It is heading toward one of the biggest disasters in the Telugu film industry. ## "Acharya" is produced by Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainment. In the movie, Chiranjeevi played the title role while Ram Charan, who is fresh from his biggest blockbuster "RRR", played the second lead as Siddha. Bollywood movies too have success in the form of "Sooryavanshi", "Gangubai Kathiawadi", and "The Kashmir Files", but it is not enough to bring back the industry to its strong feet again. The failure of mid-sized movies remains a big concern for makers and thus, they are now making sure they take the right steps regarding the release of their films and find suitable dates. ## According to Pinkvilla, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rashmika Mandanna's espionage thriller, "Mission Manju" and the Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer "Govinda Naam Mera", which are scheduled to release on June 10, are set to be postponed for later dates. Interestingly, the Hollywood movie, Jurassic World Dominion is also scheduled for June 10 release and it is unlikely to be postponed. ## The report also states that "Mission Majun" will now release between July and September this year while "Govinda Naam Mera" is targeting a year-end release. Apart from the aforementioned movies, Rani Mukerji's "Ms Chatterji V/s Norway", is also getting postponed from May 20th. Kangana Ranaut's "Dhaakad" and Kartik Aaryan's "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" are already slated for May 20th release and are all set to proceed with that. ## Another Sidharth Malhotra film, "Yodha", which is slated for a release on November 11, is reportedly getting postponed to 2023. The movie is currently in post-production work and is said to be making way for Marvel Studios' "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", due on November 11. Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan To Invest In A Cricket Stadium Near Los Angeles

Mumbai, May 2 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, actress Juhi Chawla and businessman Jay Mehta's the Knight Riders Group (KRG), after owning two T20 teams, are now investing in a cricket stadium near Los Angeles. ## The capacity of the stadium is said to be 10000 and it is located at a 15-acre land parcel in Great Park, Irvine, Southern California, some 40 miles from downtown Los Angeles. The plan to build a cricket stadium in the area is driven by Major League Cricket (MLC) which has revealed that an exclusive negotiating agreement with the city of Irvine to move forward with lease negotiations and design approvals has been approved. ## According to Variety, the investment in the stadium is likely to be in the range of $30 million and it will be designed by architects HKS. The stadium will be home to MLC's Southern California-based franchise, in the heart of one of the largest cricket-loving populations in the U.S., including an estimated 100,000 cricket fans with a further 200,000 more located in Los Angeles County. ## The capacity of the stadium will be expanded further and it will also include state-of-the-art training facilities, locker rooms, luxury suites, dedicated parking, concessions, field lighting, and an international-grade pitch to meet International Cricket Council (ICC) accreditation. ## If the proposed stadium is completed in time, it could host some of the matches of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2024, which is scheduled to be played in the US and West Indies. ## "Our investment in MLC in America is based on our belief in the exciting future of cricket in the U.S.A and is well aligned to our strategy of establishing Knight Riders as a global brand in T20 cricket", said Shah Rukh Khan, per Variety. "Plans to build a world-class cricket stadium in the greater Los Angeles area are exciting for us and MLC. This will no doubt have a transformational impact for cricket in one of the world’s most iconic metropolitan destinations", he added. ## Meanwhile, on the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in YRF's spy action thriller "Pathaan" which is scheduled to release on January 25th, 2023. Meanwhile, the strong show of "KGF 2" has helped to score the 10th biggest 3rd weekend in Hindi. ## The dubbed Hindi version of "KGF 2" beat "Bajirao Mastani" for the 10th spot in the 3rd-weekend list. The Hindi version of the film has contributed more than 40% of the total worldwide gross with approx. 435 crores gross in India alone. ## Apart from Hindi, the other versions of the film (Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam) have scored approx. 414 crores at the domestic box office with a major contribution from the original Kannada version with approx. 140 crores gross. Overseas, it has so far crossed 175+ crores, for worldwide gross to 1025+ crores through 3rd Sunday. ## Produced by Hombale Films, "KGF Chapter 2" has benefitted from the low response to the new Hindi releases, "Runway 34", and "Heropanti 2", and the Eid holidays will further strengthen its position. In the long run, KGF 2 is now the serious contender to become the biggest Indian grosser of the year. As of now, SS Rajamouli's "RRR" is the highest-grossing Indian movie of 2022 with 1106 crores (still running), and KGF 2 is expected to surpass it by the end of its box office run. ## "KGF 2" follows the assassin Rocky Bhai (Yash), who after establishing himself as the kingpin of the Kolar Gold Fields, must retain his supremacy over adversaries and government officials, while also coming to terms with his past. Mumbai, May 1 - KGF Chapter 2 is marching towards the 400+ crores net mark in Hindi, and it seems it will get there without much trouble after the not-so-good show by the two new releases, "Runway 34", and "Heropanti 2". The Yash-fronted period action drama film is surely having a dream box office run in Hindi. ## "KGF Chapter 2" collected 7.25 crores net on its third Saturday at the Hindi box office. By doing this, KGF 2's total Hindi collection reached 360.31 crores net after 17 days. It will cross Aamir Khan's "Dangal's" lifetime Hindi total of 374.06 crores by the 3rd Monday and will emerge as the second biggest grosser in Hindi of all time at the domestic box office. ## Meanwhile, the Prashanth Neel-directed movie found itself among the top 3rd Saturday collection movies in Hindi. It outscored Bollywood blockbusters like - "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" (6.8cr) and "3 Idiots" (6.53cr) to score the 10th biggest third Saturday box office collection in Hindi ever. ## SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2 The Conclusion" is the biggest 3rd Saturday collection movie in Hindi with 14.75 crores, followed by "Dangal" with 10.25 crores, and "URI The Surgical Strike" with 9.86 crores at number 2 and 3, respectively.
