Apart from scoring huge box office numbers, "Pathaan" has brought audiences to theaters in large numbers which no other Bollywood movie could do in recent times. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, "Pathaan" is among the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time in terms of theater admissions/footfalls. While most of the big-budget films finished below 50 lakh footfalls, "Pathaan" has just hit 3 crores theater footfalls which is the highest for a Bollywood movie since Salman Khan's "Tiger Zinda Hai". ## "Pathaan" hit 3 crores in footfalls yesterday (3rd Monday) in all versions (Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu). Hyderabad, February 13 - Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu is busy with the shooting of director Trivikram Srinivas' action entertainer, tentatively titled "SSMB 28". The shoot commenced last month after some delay but now going at a brisk pace. ## "SSMB28" marks the third collaboration between Mahesh Babu and Trivikram after "Athadu" and "Khaleja", and it features Pooja Hegde as the female lead opposite Babu. The movie was originally announced for April 2023 release, but makers recently confirmed that it would be postponed to August 11 this year. ## There were rumors that the release of "SSMB28" will be pushed further, however, producer Naga Vamsi has re-confirmed that there won't be a further delay and it will indeed be released as scheduled. Meanwhile, the makers have also locked the lead antagonist to lock horns with Mahesh Babu in the film. ## According to the latest reports in Telugu media, Jagapathi Babu will play the main villain. Mumbai, February 12 - Spy action thriller, "Pathaan" starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan is running riot at the box office and crossed 900 crores mark within three weeks. ## Also starring John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, "Pathaan" is racing towards 1000 crores at the global box office looking at the current trend, thanks to the historic extended opening week in which the movie grossed approx. 697 crores globally, including 260 crores overseas. ## After such a massive week, "Pathaan" dropped around 78% globally in the second week for approx. 191 crores, reaching 888 crores after two weeks (16 days). The third week too had strong numbers, scoring approx. 47 crores net. Produced by Yash Raj Films, "Pathaan's" total collection after the full is approx. 976 crores gross worldwide. It will have competition from February 17 when "Shehzada" and "Ant-Man 3" will release. However, despite that, "Pathaan" is expected to retain a good amount of screens to breach past 1000 crores mark. ## "Pathaan" will be the only Bollywood movie to go past 1000 crores globally (which looks inevitable) without China. Los Angeles, February 12 - It's James Cameron up against himself at the box office, but for now, his latest blockbuster "Avatar: The Way of Water" has edged past "Titanic" to become the 3rd highest-grossing film of all time. ## The sci-fi epic sequel is continuing its love affair with the box office as it topped $2.20 billion globally through the 9th Friday. With this, "Avatar 2" has surpassed "Titanic's" $2.19 billion, however, the latter may reclaim that spot as it is having a re-release worldwide to commemorate its 25th anniversary. ## For now, "Avatar 2" is the 3rd biggest movie ever, behind only "Avatar" ($2.91 billion) and "Avengers: Endgame" ($2.80 billion). "The Way of Water" is still a formidable player at the box office, while a remastered 3D version of Titanic is being released in time for Valentine's Day.## The Disney tentpole has grossed approx. $642 million at the domestic box office and approx. $1.56 billion overseas. Los Angeles, February 11 - James Cameron's classic blockbuster "Titanic" returns to the theaters to commemorate its 25th anniversary. ## Released by Paramount in 2,464 locations, "Titanic" re-release grossed a strong $6.70 million opening weekend, including Thursday previews at the domestic (North America) box office.## The weekend total pushed "Titanic's" domestic gross to $666.10 million. The opening weekend of the film's re-release was better than the "Avengers: Endgame" and "Spider-Man: No Way Home" re-releases, which grossed $6.10 million and $5.40 million, respectively. ## Overseas, the "Titanic" re-release grossed a super strong $15.90 million on the opening weekend. It is currently the all-time 3rd highest-grossing film at the global box office with $2.21 billion. Los Angeles, February 11 - Marvel Studios/Disney's "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" is getting ready to kick-start the proceedings of Phase 5 of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The superhero movie stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang AKA Ant-Man along with Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer all returning for the franchise's third installment as well. ## Scheduled to release on February 17, "Ant-Man 3" is getting more excitement than ever because of Jonathan Majors who is making his cinematic debut in the MCU as Kang the Conqueror, the next big villain after Thanos in the MCU. ## Meanwhile, Disney has officially recommended four Marvel Studios flicks to watch before seeing "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" in order to fully understand the film. These projects are from Phase 2-4. Set after the events of "Avengers: Age of Ultron", "Ant-Man" shows Scott Lang (Rudd) learns to embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Hank, protect the tech behind the Ant-Man suit that gives its wearer the ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength. ## Captain America: Civil War (2016) - After an impressive debut, Scott Lang joined Earth's Mightiest Heroes in Civil War for the first time, which could also be termed "Avengers 2.5". Scott Lang plays a considerable role as a member of Team Captain America which favors autonomy, against team Iron Man which supports government oversight. Although Ant-Man sides with Captain America, his involvement puts him at risk of being incarcerated once again.## Ant-Man and The Wasp (2018) - The second film in the Ant-Man franchise where Lang struggles to balance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man. It followed "Avengers: Infinity War" which was released two months prior to it. ## Avengers: Endgame (2019) - One of the biggest movies of all time and things that turned up in the movie wouldn't have been possible without Ant-Man who was stuck in the Quantum realm for five years after Thanos' snap vanished half of the world. Ant-Man showed the path to bring everyone back when he came out of Quantum realm. ## Loki (Season 1) (2021) - It didn't feature Ant-Man, but introduced Jonathan Majors' Kang. In the series, one of the variants of Kang made an appearance, and his much scarier variants will be explored in the upcoming MCU films including "Ant-Man 3". Hyderabad, February 11 - The Film Federation of India (FFI) left everyone stunned when it picked the Gujarati movie "The Chhello Show" (Last Film Show) as India's official entry for Oscars 2023, over SS Rajamouli's "RRR" which has been winning accolades internationally and getting wide recognition. ## "Last Film Show" though did receive critical acclaim but failed to score nominations in the Best International Feature Film category which further widened the criticism for FFI for not picking "RRR". Meanwhile, Ram Charan, who plays the role of Ramaraju in the film, finally reacts to the decision. ## During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ram Charan said that he was not entirely surprised by the decision but was a little disappointed that the movie was not picked.## "I really don't understand the process of selection. Prior to this, I had no knowledge of how it's done, so I don't know if I can really comment on it. Whoever did the selection, I'm sure they (FFI) have been in the process for many years, and I'm sure [Last Film Show] is a great film. I haven't gotten the chance to see it yet, but nevertheless, I hope this is a great beginning for us", the actor said. ## "We are so happy with the reception from the West, the East, and India, and all these nominations and awards are definitely great. They're feathers in our cap, and I hope we have even better things to look forward to in the future", Charan added.## "RRR", meanwhile, scored a nomination in the Best Original Song category for "Naatu Naatu" which became India's first-ever Oscars nod in the category. India has confirmed that "The Flash" will get a day and date release in India along with the USA on June 16.
