I Do Films I Like, And The Messages I Like: Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar does not need to give an introduction, he has emerged as one of the biggest stars in the country after spending almost 30 years in the Bollywood film industry. A journey which was started with "Saugandh" in 1991, has been eventful yet memorable for the Nation Award-Winning actor. Reflecting on his journey, Akshay says entering the industry is easier than maintaining one's position. ## "The challenge lies in maintaining yourself. Maintaining yourself in the industry is a big challenge. You will not believe that entering the film industry is still easier, but to maintain yourself in the industry and to keep up and cope up with everything going on, and be there in the industry, is a very difficult job", Akshay told IANS.## Over the years, Akshay has held on to the advice his father once gave him, as he surged ahead in his career. "I follow what my father taught me - keep working hard. Stop worrying about the future, everything will get sorted out. A lot of times, I have seen how the movie that I know is not good works. I do different types of films and I want to continue doing them in the future. I don't want to be a teacher. I get associated with the message I believe in. I made a film on sanitary pads and did one on the importance of toilets. (I) Also made one on science. I have made different types of films", he continued.## Talking about his upcoming projects, the superstar has as many as 7 films in the pipeline and most of them are slated to release this year. The actress, who was last seen in the blockbuster 'War' alongside Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, will be starring in the upcoming biggies Shamshera, Bell Bottom, and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. And amid the OTT chaos, she feels lucky that all three films are theatrical releases. ## "I hope this will be the year of big-screen entertainers! People are waiting for the virus to be under control and with the vaccines, the confidence of people will slowly build. They would want to go back to doing things they used to. People are missing many experiences that made them happy and we are a society that thrives on community hangouts", Vaani said to IANS.## "Community celebrations will come back in a big way, and for Indians going to a theatre to watch a movie with friends and family is a huge thing. That's going to make a big comeback. They would want to come back to soak in an experience", she added. ## The covid-19 pandemic has had a big impact on the audience who loves to go to theaters to watch movies. Vaani feels that new content will play an important role in bringing people back to the theatres, as she expects the taste of the audience to have changed during the pandemic.## "They (audience) would want to watch films that are new, fresh and clutter-breaking. The taste and preference of the audience must have changed because of the coronavirus and they would only want to come to theatres to watch something that tells them a grand, new, compelling story! So, I'm really confident that the films that are lined up for release will do that", she said.## The actress added, "I'm lucky that I have three films Shamshera, Bell Bottom, and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui which are all theatricals because of the subject and the experience that they are offering to the audience. I can't wait for people to watch these films in theatres because they will truly entertain them to their core". ## Vaani will be starring with Akshay Kumar in Bell Bottom. Producer Boney Kapoor Expressed His Disappointment On Rajamouli's RRR Release Date

SS Rajamouli, on Monday (January 25), announced the release date of his highly-awaited movie, RRR starring Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan in the leading roles. The announcement came as a massive boost for the cinema industry which is struggling to get big stars movies after the lockdown lifted. ## While the fans of RRR and cinema owners rejoicing this hot announcement, producer Boney Kapoor has expressed his disappointment on the release date of RRR and called it "unethical". FYI, Boney Kapoor had already announced the release date for his production's "Maidaan" a long time ago, which is October 15.## "Of course I am upset! This is most unethical. I announced my release date for Maidaan six months ago. At a time when we should all be coming together to save the movie industry, he (Rajamouli) has gone and done this", says Boney according to Bollywood Hungama. ## Meanwhile, Ajay Devgan, who is playing a lead role in Maidaan and also plays an important role in RRR, had reportedly told Rajamouli to speak to Boney before announcing the RRR release date. However, it looks like Rajamouli didn't discuss this issue with Boney and gone one step ahead by announcing the arrival date of RRR which is October 13 during Dussehra week this year. ## Would this clash of two big Devgn starrers be avoided? No one can say as of now, but one thing is sure that we are on a treat to witness the biggest clash of the year at the box office which is a need of the hour for cinemas. ## Stay tuned...
