Scholarship Named After Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan Returns At La Trobe University

Melbourne, August 30 - The La Trobe University Ph.D. Scholarship, named after Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in 2019, makes its return. According to India TV, the registration for the scholarship started recently on August 18 and will go all the way till September 23. ## The first-ever La Trobe scholarship was announced at the 2019 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne where SRK was the chief guest and visited the university to launch this program. Gopika Kottantharayil Bhasi from Thrissur in Kerala was awarded the maiden scholarship. ## The university expressed that this was their most applied scholarship with over 800 applicants and this is the reason that it has been re-introduced after getting paused for two years to the covid-19 pandemic and travel restrictions.## The La Trobe University Ph.D. scholarship, in partnership with the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and La Trobe University, aims to provide a life-changing opportunity for an aspiring Indian female researcher to make a meaningful impact in the world.## The top criteria for the selection for the scholarship are that the candidate has to be a female Indian national who should be residing in India and have completed a Masters of Research degree within the past 10 years. Mumbai, August 30 - Actor-critic Kamal Rashid Khan, known as KRK, has been arrested by Mumbai's Malad Police over his controversial tweet in 2020. ## KRK was detained at the airport and was arrested post-questioning. The complaint was filed against Kamaal R Khan at Malad Police Station. Kamaal R Khan is known for his controversial tweets and jibes at Bollywood stars and films which have often lent him trouble. ## KRK was arrested over a complaint filed by Yuva Sena member Rahul Kanal in April 2020 for his questionable tweets about late actors Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor. He will be produced today in Borivali court today, August 30. ## As per the latest update, Borivali Court sends Kamal Rashid Khan to 14-day judicial custody.## "Kamal R Khan has been arrested today on my complaint. I welcome this move by the Mumbai police. He makes derogatory comments on social media and uses foul language. Such kind of behavior is unacceptable in society. The action comedy-drama film will be directed by Sajid Khan, who will return to the direction after 8 years. ## Set against the backdrop of a big Indian wedding and spies, "100%" will star John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Shehnaaz Kaur Gill, and Nora Fatehi in the leading roles. ## It will be Shehaaz's second Bollywood film and first with the rest of the cast and crew. Mumbai, August 27 - There was something to cheer for the makers of Liger as the Hindi version opens reasonably well amid the drastic turnaround at the box office for the Telugu version. With a full-fledged Hindi release coming a day later, there was a fear of backfiring this move after the kind of reception the Telugu got. ## The Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Pandey-starrer sports action drama film opened in the Hindi version with 5.75 crores net, including 1.25 crores from Thursday previews. It was Deverakonda's first attempt in Hindi and with negative reviews all around, the makers will take this sort of opening with both hands. ## The opening of 5.75 crores net for "Liger" is bigger than the likes of Prabhas-fronted "Baahubali" (5.15 cr) and Allu Arjun's "Pushpa - The Rise" (3.33 cr). While both Baahubali and Pushpa went to score over 100 crores net in their lifetime run in Hindi, how long "Liger" will go remains to see. It is, however, unlikely to repeat the success of the former two films with negative reviews and word of mouth by its side. ## "Liger" also come above Prabhas-fronted "Radhe Shyam", which was expected to take a big opening but ended up scoring only 4.50 crores net on the first day. Just like "Liger", "Radhe Shyam" too got poor reviews which affected its lifetime Hindi collection badly as it scored only 19.50 crores net. ## Directed by Puri Jagannadh, "Liger" is having a tough time in the Telugu version after opening to VD's career-best start. The movie fell flat on the second day with a drop of massive of approx. 80%.
