Suriya To Team Up With Director Shankar For Big Screen Adaptation of Velpari Novel
Chennai, September 21 - Tamil superstar Suriya will reportedly be teaming with maverick filmmaker S. Shankar for the cinematic adaptation of the iconic Velpari Novel. ## Shankar is currently working on Kamal Haasan's "Indian 2" along with Ram Charan's "RC15" simultaneously. After completing his current commitments, Shankar will start working on Suriya's film. ## According to Pinkvilla, "Suriya's 2D Entertainment has acquired the rights to bring the story of Velpari to the big screen". It is said that Suriya and Shanker have already met multiple times to discuss the way forward regarding bringing Velpari's novel to the big screen. ## "The idea to adapt one of the greatest novels of all time and make it a cinematic experience like never before", says the report. ## Suriya's 2D Entertain will produce this mega-budget film while he will also play the lead role. It will be a big Pan-Indian film with actors from across industries coming on board to play key characters. If all goes well, the movie will go on the floor by the end of next year. ## Meanwhile, Suriya has an interesting lineup of films including Vetrimaaran's directorial "Vaadivaasal". The project is based on CS Chellapa's famous novel by the name. He is currently shooting for director Siva's next along with Bala's "Vanangaan".
