Chennai, November 4 - The countdown has begun for Suriya's most-anticipated fantasy action drama Kanguva which releases on November 14 worldwide. The film is directed by Siva and also stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in prominent roles. ## Kanguva is easily one of the most hyped Tamil movies in recent times and cash in on this big opportunity, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to give it a massive release. Chennai, November 4 - The biographical war action drama Amaran has had a sensational first weekend at the domestic and worldwide box office, exceeding expectations by a long margin. The movie is proving to be a game changer for actor Sivakarthikeyan whose rise over the last few years has been noteworthy. ## Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran grossed around 25 crores domestically in India on Sunday, which took its total collection to approximately 95.50 crores in 4 days, making it the biggest domestic grosser for the actor. By today (5th day), it will become the first 100 crore domestic grosser for the actor. ## The domestic gross includes an excellent 66.50+ crores in the home state, Tamil Nadu and it will most likely enter the 100 crore club in the state by the second weekend. Chennai, October 26 - Superstar Rajinikanth's action drama Vettaiyan, also starring Amitabh Bachchan, has entered the 100 crores gross club at the Tamil Nadu box office, becoming the second movie of 2024 to achieve the feat after Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All-Time. ## Directed by T. J. Gnanavel, Vettaiyan entered the 100 crore club in the state on its 17th day, third Saturday. It is the second back-to-back film of Rajinikanth (excluding Lal Salaam in which Rajinikanth played an extended appearance), after mega-blockbuster Jailer last year. ## However, despite crossing 100 crores gross collection in the home state, Vettaiyna has underperformed at the box office, not meeting the pre-release expectations. It has been a struggle for the movie so far with around 250 crores gross worldwide. ## In 16 days so far, the movie has minted approximately 166 crores in India and 80 crores overseas for approximately 246 crores gross collection at the worldwide box office. The movie had a mid-week release on Thursday and despite that, it took a solid opening of 64 crores globally. ## On its second day/first Friday, Vettaiyan dropped just around 25% at the domestic box office and grossed approximately 27.80 crores. Additionally, the movie minted approximately 14 crores gross collection internationally, making it a 42 crores gross second day worldwide. ## The rock-solid collection on Friday pushed the total to past 100 crores gross at approximately 105.80 crores, including 64.80 crores gross in India and 41 crores overseas. The movie had a very good start with 37 crores gross collection domestically. ## On its second day/first Friday, the movie is holding its ground firmly, especially in the home state, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. The movie made over 600 crores gross worldwide and was one of the highest-grossing Indian titles of the year. ## Rajinikanth has now teamed up with Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel for an action drama Vettaiyan which is scheduled to hit the big screens on October 10, during Dussehra weekend.
