WWE SummerSlam 2022 will be the thirty-fifth event under the SummerSlam chronology. It is one of the original "Big Four" pay-per-view events of WWE (along with WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and Survivor Series) and is considered the WWE's second-biggest event of the year behind WrestleMania. ##
The event will air on pay-per-view (PPV) worldwide and will be available to stream through Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network internationally. ##
It is scheduled to take place on July 30, 2022, at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. It will be the first SummerSlam to not be held during the month of August. ##

Last Man Standing Match For The Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) (with Paul Heyman) vs. Brock Lesnar ##
In the main event of SmackDown on June 17, Roman Reigns defeated Riddle to retain his Undisputed Universal Championship. After the match, he grabbed a microphone and exclaimed that there is no one left for him to beat. Roman reminds everyone that he said he would smash everyone and leave, and that's exactly what he's done. Just then, surprisingly, Brock Lesnar's music hit. ##
Lesnar came to the ring and extended his hand to Roman, signifying that The Tribal Chief has earned his respect, but Roman seemed hesitant to reciprocate. After a minute, Reigns decided to shake Brock's hand but was immediately scooped up by Lesnar and hit with an F5. The Usos then jumped in the ring but were disposed of quickly. ##
It was announced online shortly after SmackDown went off the air that Roman and Brock will face off at SummerSlam on July 30 in the Last Man Standing Match for the Undisputed Universal Championship. ##
Singles Match: Pat McAfee Vs Happy Corbin ##
It will be no laughing matter when Pat McAfee tangles with Happy Corbin at SummerSlam!##
McAfee's issues with Corbin became apparent on the June 17 edition of SmackDown. After losing the Last Laughs match against Madcap Moss, an enraged Corbin tries to vent his frustrations at the Blue Brand announcer. In response, the outspoken McAfee led members of the WWE Universe in Minneapolis into laughing at a disgraced Corbin outside the arena.##
On the June 24th edition of SmackDown, Pat McAfee officially challenged Baron Corbin to a match at SummerSlam. Corbin responded at WWE Money in the Bank with a brutal attack after the show went off the air and let the electric commentator know his challenge was accepted. ##
WWE United States Title Match: Bobby Lashley(c) Vs. Theory ##
The July 4th edition of Monday Night Raw opened with Bobby Lashley celebrating his United States championship victory at Money in the Bank this past weekend in Paradise, Nevada. Naturally, Theory, the man he won the title from, hit the scene to crap in the proverbial punch bowl. ##
During the ensuing back-and-forth, Theory challenged Bobby Lashley to a rematch for the United States Title match at SummerSlam 2022. ##
WWE SmackDown Women's Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs. Ronda Rousey ##
At SummerSlam, Ronda Rousey will look to dethrone new SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan in what promises to be a slugfest! ##
At Money In The Bank 2022, Morgan won the Money in the Bank contract, granting her a match of her choice for either the Raw or SmackDown Women's Championship. Later that night, following the SmackDown Women's Championship match between Natalya and Ronda Rousey, Morgan cashed in her contract on the latter to win the title. ##
During the July 8th edition of SmackDown, it was announced that SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan will defend her title against Ronda Rousey in a rematch. ##

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. The Street Profits ##

At SummerSlam, Bianca Belair will battle Becky Lynch in a highly personal showdown for the Raw Women’s Championship. ##
Lynch and Belair have faced off in singles action on pay-per-view three times before. The first time came at last year's SummerSlam event, where Lynch made her return from a year long hiatus and defeated the 'E.S.T' in a Smackdown Women's Title Match. Most recently, Belair defeated Lynch at WrestleMania 38 to capture the Raw Women's Championship. ##

The Mysterios will look to settle the score with The Judgment Day once and for all at WWE SummerSlam. ##

On the July 25 edition of WWE Raw, Rey Mysterio celebrated his 20th anniversary with WWE, and The Judgment Day what ruined what was meant to be a joyful night. ##
WWE subsequently announced that The Mysterios will face The Judgment Day in a No Disqualification Match at WWE SummerSlam on July 30. ##
