Ridge Holland serves as a distraction and Sheamus eliminates him. ## * Thanks to Cesaro attacking Holland, Ricochet defeats Sheamus. ## * Sheamus attacks Ricochet allowing Humberto to get an edge, but Ricochet eliminates him. ## * Ricochet gets a roll-up pin to eliminate Jinder Mahal. ## * Sami Zayn hits the Helluva Kick to knock out Ricochet. He gets the pinfall and by virtue of winning the 12-man gauntlet, he will face Nakamura for the IC Title at WWE Day 1. ## * Charlotte Flair defeated Toni Strom to retain the title. ## * The ringside area is all decorated for the 6-man tag “Miracle on 34th Street Fight” Drew McIntyre and the New Day vs. Riddick Moss and The Usos. WWE Universal champion Roman Reigns has seemingly broke up with Paul Heyman. ## After taking a week away on a night that saw Brock Lesnar wreak more havoc on the blue brand by attacking Sami Zayn yet again and hunting down WWE Official Adam Pearce to tell him a rather threatening story, Universal Champion Roman Reigns returned to Friday Night SmackDown. ## As noted, The Bloodline was also noticeably disrupted. For a moment, it seemed as if Special Council Paul Heyman actually began advocating for his one-time client Lesnar, even going so far as to say that The Conqueror may be the “future” Universal Champion. ## On tonight's episode of SmackDown, Roman Reigns emerged out in the ring along with Paul Heyman and The Usos. Roman asked if Paul knew that Brock would be back at SummerSlam? Did he know that Brock would be at Madison Square Garden? Did he know that the suspension would be lifted? ## In the end, Reigns declared that Heyman is fired and dropped him down with a Superman punch. Bryan Danielson recently spoke with Joey Hayden of the Dallas Morning News and detailed the experience-based comparison between the matches in AEW and WWE. ## Danielson had a hell of a match with Kenny Omega at Arthur Ashe Stadium. In his career, he has headlined, main-evented WrestleManias, and since we have one back at AT&T Stadium in a few months. ## “This is my perspective on it – other people may feel differently. But to me, the perspective is always different based on where you’re at in your life. The WrestleMania settings for me, like WrestleMania 35 when I lost to Kofi Kingston – that was pure joy. I had just been cleared to wrestle the year before, it was a lot of fun. ## "WrestleMania 30, which is what most people associate me with, I have a little bit of a harder time with because I was in a ton of pain with my neck and shoulder, barely sleeping, and then my dad passed away and all that kind of stuff – Brie and I got married like six days after. So, there’s like a lot of ups and downs that has a lot of like weird feelings to me. ## “It’s funny looking back on it now, but I had just won the title at WrestleMania 30 and I’m exhausted and I’m tired and all that kind of stuff, but I feel great, right? And then I’m holding up the belts and the camera guys keep telling me ‘Keep Yes-ing, keep Yes-ing.’ And I’m like, I can barely lift my arm and I’m holding these two titles. ## “To me, the match with Kenny Omega, the difference was that was just pure joy. Being able to feel and experience an incredible moment. And also as I’ve matured, I’ve been able to enjoy wrestling more, especially since I’ve come back from my retirement. Progressively, the last several years, it’s been every time I wrestle it feels just kind of like a blessing.
