AEW Full Gear (2023) Results November 18, 2023: Highlights, Commentary, Live Update, Winners

Inglewood, 18 November - Here is the live coverage for the 2023 AEW Full Gear which is set to take place on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Kia Forum in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood, California. ## In a stacked event card, Eddie Kingston defends his ROH World Championship against Jay Lethal, while MJF and Samoa Joe put their ROH World Tag Team Championship on the line against The Gunns. The card features diverse matchups, including Hikaru Shida vs. Toni Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship and a six-man tag team clash with Sting, Darby Allin, and Adam Copeland facing The Patriarchy. ## The AEW International Championship is up for grabs as Orange Cassidy takes on Jon Moxley, and The Golden Jets battle The Young Bucks with high stakes: a championship opportunity or team disbandment. Other matches include Kris Statlander defending the AEW TBS Championship in a three-way bout and a four-way tag team ladder match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. The main event sees MJF defending his AEW World Championship against Jay White. ## AEW Full Gear (2023) Ongoing Results ## Eddie Kingston vs. Jay Lethal w/Jeff Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt, Karen Jarrett and Satnam Singh ## In this scenario, Lethal, supported by a crew and backed by board member Hathaway, faces Eddie in an intense match. Eddie fights from beneath, resisting outside interference and cleverly staying in the ring when tempted to brawl outside. Lethal gains control with strategic interference and near falls, with Jarrett counting alongside.## The climax sees distractions from Karen Jarrett and Satnam Singh, and Ortiz intervenes with a guitar. Despite Lethal's attempt at the Lethal Injection, Eddie counters with a half and half suplex and a spinning backfist, securing the pin and the win. ## WINNER: Eddie Kingston ## Singles Match: Claudio Castagnoli vs Buddy Matthews ## Buddy starts with a stomping onslaught, and the match escalates into a hard-hitting affair with minimal hold-and-counter exchanges. Claudio repeatedly aims for the big swing, but Buddy thwarts him, consistently fighting from beneath. The turning point comes when Claudio executes the big swing for a near fall.## They transition to finishing moves, with Buddy delivering a power bomb and jackhammer for a two-count. After Buddy's hammer and anvil elbows, Claudio retaliates with a Ricola bomb, followed by a sharpshooter. Buddy taps out, giving Claudio the win. ## WINNER: Claudio Castagnoli ## MJF and Samoa Joe (Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions) vs The Gunns (Austin and Colton Gunn) ## Juice Robinson is out due to last night's Rampage brawl. MJF dominates Colton in the corner, leading to a more traditional exchange. Gunns isolate MJF until he sends them out, tagging Joe for a comeback. MJF attempts Joe's moves but is countered. Gunns hit 3:10 to Yuma on Joe, but Adam Cole's distraction lets Joe lock in the Coquina Clutch for the win. ## WINNER: MJF and Samoa Joe ## The Gunns viciously attack MJF, focusing on his leg with a chair. After wrapping the chair around his leg and leaping onto it, MJF is stretchered out and loaded into an ambulance. Before leaving, MJF urgently asks Adam Cole to protect his championship. The main show starts with a choir singing Christian Cage's theme. ## Sting, Darby Allin, and Adam Copeland w/Ric Flair vs Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne ## The match kicks off with Cage hugging Nick, and Darby facing off against Nick, who takes control with a cheap shot. Sting tags in, working on Nick, but Cage tags in. Adam, with painted face like Darby and Sting, enters. Cage tags Luchasaurus and leaves. Darby gets tossed around, choked on the apron, and is headed to climb Mount Everest tonight. ## Cage tags in, beats Darby down, and Nick attempts a pin. Darby rallies with a top-rope destroyer. In chaos, Cage attacks Adam from behind, but Sting runs him off. Darby tags Cage, but Luchasaurus protects him. After a triple attack, Adam pins Luchasaurus for the win. Flair interferes, but Cage takes him out, leaving Adam to secure the victory. ## WINNER: Sting, Darby Allin, and Adam Copeland ## The energetic opener pleases the crowd, and Cage shines as a great heel.## Adam takes the mic, acknowledging Sting's last match in California and contributing to the swear jar.## At the stage, Tony introduces Bullet Club Gold, joined by Taz on commentary. Jay White claims the championship, prompting Tony to try calming him. Tony starts to announce MJF's injury and the match cancellation, but Adam Cole interrupts. Cole insists he won't let Jay walk away with the title and offers to defend it for MJF. ## Jay confidently agrees to face Cole again. The Bullet Club incapacitates MJF, leading to his title forfeiture. m## Orange Cassidy (AEW International Champion) w/Hook vs Jon Moxley ## Cassidy charges into Mox with energy, and they trade blows. The story revolves around Mox brutally attacking Cassidy, who fights back with less effective counterattacks. Despite Cassidy's big moves, he can't secure more than a one-count. The match includes dives and a bulldog choke from Mox.## Cassidy applies the Redrum, Mox exposes the turnbuckle, hits a cutter and a piledriver for a near fall. The crowd engages in dueling chants. Cassidy lands three Orange Punches, covers for two, adds three more punches, and finishes with a beach break for the win. ## WINNER: Orange Cassidy ## Hikaru Shida (AEW Women’s Champion) vs Timeless Toni Storm ## Toni ditches her script, and Shida takes early control. The match is a straightforward, hard-hitting affair with kicks and strikes dominating. Storm uses Luther to hand her a shoe, swapping it for another to nail Shida for a near fall. Shida retaliates with a Strong Zero, but the match continues.## Shida's missed Meteora causes her ankle to buckle, giving Storm an opening for an ankle lock. Shida reaches the ropes, and Toni tries a shoe trick, but Shida dodges it. The fight spills outside with Shida wielding a Kendo stick, but Storm blocks a Katana kick.## The surprise comes when Storm reveals a hidden metal tray in her tights, using it for a decisive hip attack on Shida, getting the pin and the win. ## WINNER: Timeless Toni Storm ## Ladder Match: Ricky Starks and Big Bill (AEW Tag Team Champions) vs Brody King and Malakai Black vs FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) vs Rush and Dralistico ## In the midst of a chaotic ringside brawl, King and Bill face off. FTR separates them, leading to a widespread skirmish. Starks introduces a ladder, clashing with Dax. Rush and Cash set up a ladder but opt for a brawl instead. Dralistico and Black add high-flying maneuvers to the chaos. Starks attempts a dive but is countered by Dax's top-rope suplex.## Bill and King bring ladders into the ring, initiating a hoss fight. Rush and Dax use ladders as weapons, and Dralistico takes Dax down with a dropkick. Bill and King get sandwiched between ladders, and Dax turns on Starks. Starks walks the ropes but falls victim to Dax's counter. King hits a cannonball, sets up a ladder, but Bill tips it over.## Dralistico briefly shines against Bill before succumbing to a choke slam. The match avoids slow ladder climbs, focusing on intense fighting. King power bombs Dralistico onto a ladder, and Dax leaps off the top onto Brody. Starks and Dax duel on a ladder, but Black intervenes, allowing Starks to climb and secure the titles. ## WINNER: Ricky Starks and Big Bill ## Kris Statlander (TBS Champion) vs Julia Hart vs Sky Blue ## Blue winks during her entrance, and Statlander invites her opponents to attack. Blue charges first, but both she and Hart face takedowns from Statlander. The match features dominant moments from Statlander in one-on-one matchups, showcasing her championship potential.## Despite a sequence where Hart knocks Statlander to the floor and lands a moonsault on Blue, Statlander breaks it up. Statlander hits the Saturday Night Fever on Blue, but Hart intervenes, delivering a clothesline and stealing the pin for the win. ## WINNER: Julia Hart ## Will Ospreay Signs With AEW ## In the ring, Tony Schiavone introduces the latest AEW signing, Will Ospreay, who receives a massive ovation. Ospreay officially signs his contract and expresses happiness about joining AEW. He shares the news that he's not coming in just yet, asking for patience to wrap things up with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Once that's done, he promises the Road to Revolution and pledges to show everyone what Elite truly looks like, especially at Wembley Stadium. ## Texas Death Match: "Hangman" Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland (with Prince Nana) ## Nana, with four backup dancers, joins Strickland's entrance. Page, impatient, sprints to the ring, initiating a brutal match with Strickland. The goal is to incapacitate the opponent for a 10-count. Page introduces duct tape and a staple gun, using them on Strickland, including stapling a rundown sheet onto him. ## Page inflicts various brutalities, from stapling Strickland's chest to hitting him with a chair. Strickland retaliates, involving cinderblocks, barbed wire, broken glass, and more. The match intensifies with Nana's interference and the sudden appearance of Brian Cage. Page manages to overcome challenges, but Strickland eventually hangs him with a chain, leading to Page's inability to answer the 10 count. ## WINNER: Swerve Strickland by knockout ## The Golden Jets (Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega) defeated The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) ## Since The Golden Jets won, they get The Young Bucks' AEW World Tag Team Championship opportunity. Had The Golden Jets lost, they would have had to disband as a team. ## The match starts with Matt and Jericho engaging in chain wrestling, but the Bucks resort to heel tactics against Jericho. The Bucks target Jericho's injured arm, drawing boos from the California crowd. Despite the Bucks working over Jericho, he manages to tag in Omega, leading to a chaotic sequence.## In the end, Omega deceives by attacking the Bucks, and he secures the victory with a One-Winged Angel on Matt. The match effectively builds tension, showcasing the Bucks' conflict and Matt's fully embraced heel persona. ## WINNER: Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega ## Singles match for the AEW World Championship: MJF (c) (with Adam Cole) vs. Jay White (with The Gunns (Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn)) ## MJF's entrance is disrupted as staff and security try to stop him, but he ignores them. The match starts with MJF targeting Jay's leg, leading to a well-executed story of Bullet Club interference and MJF's resilience. Despite the crowd's anticipation for a solid match between Jay and MJF, the familiar storyline engages them. ## MJF exploits the broken announcer's table, hits a top-rope elbow, and conceals the Dynamite Diamond. In a dramatic sequence, MJF uses a low blow and his signature ring to secure the win after a ref bump. The crowd is fully invested in the match's slow-paced, exhausting style reminiscent of New Japan. ## WINNER: MJF Stay Tuned To Sacnilk...
