IWGP Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone Fires Back At Comparison To 'Female Dean Ambrose'

Mercedes Mone, the current IWGP Women's Champion, has taken to social media to react to a claim that she is the "female Dean Ambrose." Mone is currently preparing for her title defense against Mayu Iwatani at the STARDOM All Star Grand Queendom event on April 23. ## During a recent press conference, Mone entertained the audience by performing her "new hit single" titled "Mayu Sucks," and eventually delivering her Mone Maker finisher to Mayu. ## A fan on Twitter made a comparison between Mone and Dean Ambrose, a former WWE star, initially implying that the comparison was based on the wackiness of the segment. However, the fan later clarified that they were arguing that both Ambrose and Mone are worse off after leaving WWE. ## In response to the tweet comparing her to Dean Ambrose, Mone took to social media and replied with a fiery comeback. ## "More like the female @TheRock 🥰🤩🎸 #TheCEO" ## It's worth noting that Moxley signed a five-year deal with AEW last year, which includes coaching and mentorship roles, indicating his contentment with his current position. This suggests that Moxley is unlikely to return to WWE anytime soon, and Mone's response may have been a subtle nod to this fact. ## More like the female @TheRock 🥰🤩🎸#TheCEO https://t.co/kGsep6zMYr— Mercedes Moné Varnado (@MercedesVarnado) April 13, 2023 ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

FTR Reveals Dream Match To Elevate AEW To The Next Level: CM Punk And FTR vs The Elite In Wembley Stadium

On August 27, AEW is scheduled to host their grandest event to date, All In, at Wembley Stadium. With a seating capacity of approximately 90,000, it remains to be seen how many seats will be made available following the event configuration, but AEW has set its sights on smashing attendance records. ## Interestingly, this will be the first wrestling event at the modern Wembley Stadium. Back in 1992, WWE managed to attract a crowd of 80,355 for SummerSlam at the old Wembley Stadium. FTR recently expressed their aspirations of headlining a dream match that would attract a massive audience and propel AEW to new heights, as revealed during an interview with Raj Prashad from Uproxx. ## “CM Punk and FTR versus the Elite,” Dax Harwood said. “That’s gotta be it, right? If you want to sell 50,000 tickets and take this company to the next level, that’s it, that’s me dreaming. That’s the dream match. That six-man tag in Wembley Stadium could help launch AEW to the next level.” ## Since his victory over Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title at AEW All Out 2022, Punk has been absent from AEW Television due to an injury. However, he made headlines for airing his grievances with The Elite (comprised of Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks), Hangman Page, and Colt Cabana during the post-show press conference. Punk's remarks triggered an altercation involving himself, Ace Steel, and The Elite, resulting in the suspension of both Punk and The Elite, while Steel was terminated from the promotion. ## Wheeler continued, “Wembley Stadium is huge for AEW. AEW has to be ambitious right now. We’ve done so much as a company over the past three years that everybody said we couldn’t do. When Tony said we’re going to sell 20,000 (tickets at Arthur Ashe Stadium), that seemed ridiculous to people at the time. Everybody wants to keep moving the goalposts. Everybody wants to keep saying you can’t do this. I love that we’re going to Wembley because even if it’s not completely to the brim full, 50-, 60-, 70,000, whatever it ends up being, that’s huge for this company. As a company that’s only a couple years into its existence. You can’t play it safe all the time. The roster right now is so deep, why not go for it?” ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

AEW Makes Surprising Move: Vickie Guerrero Removed From Roster Page Before Contract Expiration

The landscape of AEW's roster has undergone a significant transformation in recent months, as some wrestlers have departed while new ones have joined the fold. Among those leaving the Tony Khan-led promotion is Vickie Guerrero, a long-time fixture of AEW's roster. Reports indicate that Guerrero will be bidding farewell to the company in the coming months, and fans have taken notice that her name has been removed from the AEW roster page. ## It has been widely reported that Vickie Guerrero will be concluding her tenure with AEW in the coming months. During her time with the promotion, Guerrero primarily served as the manager of Nyla Rose, and had a number of standout moments throughout their partnership. However, as her departure from AEW draws closer, fans are left wondering what the future holds for both Guerrero and the promotion itself. ## One of the standout moments of Vickie Guerrero's time in AEW was her involvement in Nyla Rose's feud with Jade Cargill. However, as Guerrero recently revealed, her contract with AEW is set to expire in July, giving her very little time left with the promotion. Despite her tenure with AEW, many fans have voiced their dissatisfaction with how the company utilized Guerrero's talents. ## The sharp-eyed users of Reddit have noticed a significant update to the AEW roster page following this week's episode of AEW Dynamite. As pointed out by u/Livid-Style-7935, Vickie Guerrero's name has been removed from the coaches section and has been entirely removed from the page. ## While Vickie Guerrero's imminent departure from AEW was not unexpected, the company's recent decision to remove her from the roster page has come as somewhat of a surprise. Typically, AEW waits until a talent's contract has fully expired before removing them from the page. ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

CM Punk Claims He Wasn't Fully Cleared To Wrestle When He Did The First Match

In a now-deleted Instagram post, CM Punk criticized Tony Khan, Chris Jericho, and other AEW stars. Earlier today, Dave Meltzer took to the Wrestling Observer message boards, sharing information regarding the booking of CM Punk and Jon Moxley’s match heading into last year’s All Out pay-per-view. ## Meltzer noted the following: ## Do you know why they didn’t advertise Punk vs. Moxley longer and why it had a short build? Because Punk agreed to it, then AEW got a legal letter saying he wasn’t down with it and wasn’t doing it and they didn’t know if he’d come until Tony put his foot down. There are a lot of nice things I can say about him, and you can absolutely argue his position on Moxley was correct, but you can’t argue he willingly did what he was asked in that scenario. ## After Dave Meltzer made a claim on the Wrestling Observer message boards, CM Punk responded by posting on his Instagram stories, in which he criticized the company, Tony Khan, Chris Jericho, and others. However, the post was swiftly deleted. ## SIGH. I wasn’t cleared to come back to wrestle yet. Then plan was to wrestle at the ppv. I sat and listened to moxleys Rocky three idea. I explained how I’d never seen a Rocky movie.I and thought the idea sucked but if the boss wanted to do it whatever. He said he wouldn’t lose to me. I’d never experienced someone refusing to lose to me. I just laughed. I asked Tony if this was what he wanted. He said yes. He’s the boss so I said okay but I’d need to be cleared first. They kept saying it could just be a squash se l didn’t need to be cleared. I scoffed at that. My health i more important. Dave Meltzer is a liar. Jericho is a liar and a stooge. There were plans but plans always change but I’ll never put a company above my health ever again. ## Later, Chrish Jericho also took to Instagram and shared the following story: ## Chris Jericho just posted this after CM Punk’s Instagram post. pic.twitter.com/GC0gBINykP— Wrestling News (@WrestlingNewsCo) March 23, 2023 ## At Double or Nothing last year, CM Punk won the AEW World Championship by defeating Hangman Adam Page. However, he got injured on the following week's episode of Dynamite. Before the All Out pay-per-view, Jon Moxley and CM Punk were slated to have a championship match. Moxley surprisingly defeated Punk in a quick match to become the new champion. ## Their final match took place at All Out, where Punk regained the title, but he suffered a triceps injury during the match. ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

Kenny Omega Comments On His Match Against El Hijo del Vikingo

A highly-anticipated dream match took place on the March 22 edition of AEW Dynamite, as Omega squared off against AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo. ## The encounter was originally scheduled to happen in 2021 when Omega held the AAA Mega Championship, but he was forced to relinquish the title due to injuries and spent several months recovering. Vikingo finally made his way to AEW, and the two wrestlers engaged in an outstanding main event. Although Omega emerged victorious, Vikingo's high-flying moves generated plenty of excitement. ## Following the match, Omega took to Twitter to introduce Vikingo to his fans and express his gratitude to AAA for the opportunity to face him. He also offered prayers for the Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson), who were assaulted prior to Dynamite's airing. ## In the aftermath of Omega's match against Vikingo, he was attacked by the Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta).
