Ram Setu Second Day/First Wednesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 26 - Ram Setu which had a good first-day collection mainly due to the mass markets, has shown a drop on the second day which was expected as the first day of the film was the national holiday and that too of post-Diwali day which is the biggest holiday of the year for the box office collections.## Today was a working day in some parts of the country while a few circuits had a holiday so overall today was like a partial holiday for Ram Setu and considering that the collections are decent as it scored an estimated 10.50-11 crores net on the second day. The drop on Wednesday is in the range of 30% compared to the first day. ## Today's collections will take the first two days' collections of the film to a little under the 26cr net mark depending on the final second-day collections.## The film is doing fine in some circuits while the rest are the opposite. Ram Setu needs to sustain on these levels till Sunday for a healthy extended weekend collection. Any further drop will make it very tough in the long run. ## Stay tuned...

Ram Setu and Thank God First Day Collections

Mumbai, October 26 - The big Diwali releases "Ram Setu" starring Akshay Kumar, and "Thank God" starring Ajay Devgn and Siddharth Malhotra released yesterday and both films took low openings in the morning despite the advantage of a huge all-India holiday. ## Ram Setu started getting good audience post the morning shows thanks to excellent walk-ins in mass markets. It collected 15.10 crores net box office collections on the first day and emerged as the biggest Akshay Kumar opener of 2022 beating Bachchan Pandey.## Thank God, on the other hand, struggled to get audiences and as a result, the film only managed to collect 8.10 crores net box office collections which is a low number on post-Diwali day. The film has seen a good collection in the same circuits where comedy genre films tend to do well.## Overall both Ram Setu and Thank God failed to beat last year's Diwali release Sooryavanshi which co-incidentally starred Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn. Sooryavanshi collected 26.29cr despite the 50% occupancy rule in Maharashtra and the combined collections of Ram Setu and Thank God are 23.35cr which is almost 3cr less than Sooryavanshi.## The main reason why the combined collections of Ram Setu and Thank God failed to beat Sooryavanshi is the fact that both Ram Setu and Thank God were not event films like Sooryavanshi so there was not much interest among the public to watch the film initially.## Stay tuned...

Thank God Opening Day Early Estimate

Mumbai, October 25 - The other big Diwali release of the day "Thank God" starring Ajay Devgn and Siddharth Malhotra has also been released in theaters today. Unlike Ram Setu, the "Thank God" first trailer was not much appreciated by the audience though it had a hit song and a favorable genre comedy along with the good second trailer. The film had a poor start in the morning much like Ram Setu but Ram Setu started getting the audience after the morning shows which was missing in the case of Thank God. The film is directed by Indra Kumar who remains one of the biggest directors but he has passed his peak way back. ## The early estimates suggest approx. 8.50-9.50 crores net, depending upon mass belts, which is a low number considering the post-Diwali day holiday. But it was expected as these types of nonevent films won't find much audience. Still, the film can put some decent collections in the next couple of days due to the prolonged holidays of Diwali.## Overall it is a decent Diwali for the Industry as both these releases will fall short of last year's Sooryavanshi opening day collections. Ram Setu Opening Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 25 - The huge Diwali release of the day, "Ram Setu" starring one of the biggest stars of the Industry Akshay Kumar has been released in theaters. The film has seen a release of over 3000 screens despite clashing with a big film like "Thank God".## The trailer of Ram Setu was received well by the audience. Post-Diwali day is the biggest day for the box office and this day pushes the film by around a 25-30% margin but that is only for huge event films. Ram Setu is not an event film like Sooryavanshi so the holiday won't benefit the film much though the excitement among the fans was there to see.## The film has fetched a poor advance booking and the advance did not suggest that "Ram Setu" will even touch the 10cr mark but since post-Diwali day is the biggest day for the box office, the walk-ins are bigger than any other day and that enabled the film to score a decent opening day.## The early estimate collections suggest approx. 15 crores net box office mark which is fine for a film like Ram Setu on any other day except for post-Diwali day. A collection of around 18-20cr would have been a good start. The film opens with a 15-20% audience in the morning and that was a killer for Ram Setu.## The opening day came on the strength of a huge holiday and the film should collect well over the next few days to put in a respectable first-weekend number. Ram Setu And Thank God Box Office Clash

Mumbai, October 21 - The Diwali 2022 will witness two huge films starring two of the biggest Bollywood stars of the generation colliding against each other at the box office. "Ram Setu" stars Akshay Kumar as a leading star while "Thank God" stars Ajay Devgn & Siddharth Malhotra. ## The buzz for both films is decent to good. Ram Setu had a good trailer and the first song 'Jai Shree Ram' fits the festive season while Thank God had a decent trailer and a hit song. When the trailer and music are decent then everything depends on the star power of the actors and here both Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn are of similar stature stars.## Ram Setu will have the upper hand in multiplexes due to the subject while Thank God will have the upper hand in smaller town single screens. The booking of both films has started and gone by the early response, Both Ram Setu and Thank God are neck to neck. Akshay Kumar has a bigger pull in circuits like Delhi-UP, East Punjab, and Rajasthan while Ajay Devgn has a better pull in Mumbai mainly due to his popularity in Gujarat. ## The biggest plus of both films is that they are coming on the biggest day of the year for the box office and since Diwali is the biggest festival in India, there will be huge walk-in crowds. In history, many huge blockbusters have been released on Diwali from "Mother India" to "Muqqaddar Ka Sikandar" to "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge" & "Raja Hindustani". But in the last 15 years - Diwali did not witness a huge blockbuster. Yes, there were a couple of huge grosses like "Krrish 3" and "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" but those were not as big grosser as they should be. ## The hope is that both films perform well at the box office and put in strong numbers. The combined opening day collections should cross 30cr at the box office at worst and the weekend should cross 100crs. Mumbai, October 17 - Sultan of Bollywood Salman Khan's much-awaited sequel "No Entry 2" has reportedly been put on hold. The reasons are still unknown but it is said that the film's further development has been stopped due to some internal issues regarding rights and all. ## Salman Khan was about to start "No Entry 2" from January 2023 onwards after finishing "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" but now he is looking for a fresh script to start in January. For the same Salman Khan might team up with producer Atul Agnihotri in a Raj Kumar Gupta directorial but that is yet to be confirmed.## Director Anees Bazmee who was to direct "No Entry 2", might opt for the superhero comedy film after the postponement or rather shelving of No Entry2. The director is in heavy demand after the blockbuster success of "Bhool Bhulaiya 2".## Salman Khan recently postponed the release dates of his two commercial biggies "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" and "Tiger 3". Mumbai, October 14 - Ayushmann Khurrana's latest box office outing Doctor G has been released in theaters today. The film came from very less hype and even the makers did not promote it like other Ayushmaan Khurrana starrers. The trailer of the film received a lukewarm response from the audience while the music was even downer.## The film took a so-so opening at the box office but considering this film stars Ayushmaan Khurrana, the opening is decent during these times. The reason for the slack in the opening was the genre of the film as these types of urban comedies are not the best bets for the box office point of view after the pandemic as they look more like an OTT film rather than a big screen spectacle.## The early estimates for the opening day suggest 3.50 crores net. The opening of the film is in a similar range as of the last Ayushmaan Khurrana starrer Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui. Except for the few urban metro cities, all other centers recorded a washout opening. ## The film has to grow by leaps and bounds on Saturday and Sunday to put a respectable first-weekend collection. Before the pandemic, these types of films used to have huge growth on Saturdays, and sometimes the growth even exceeded the 40-50% mark but in the current box office condition, this type of growth is very tough. The film saw a big jump of over 50% on the 2nd Saturday but failed to take the momentum on the second Sunday.## The second Sunday collections will take the entire box office collections of Vikram Vedha to around the 69 crores net box office mark. This weekend's collections have boosted the lifetime collections of the film as at one point in time the film was looking to end around 80cr lifetime but now it's looking like a 90cr finish with even a slight chance of 100cr.## Vikram Vedha will be either below average or a flop film but that is due to the start the film had gotten. Mumbai, October 3 - Vikram Vedha went down on the first Monday of its box office run as the early estimates suggest 5.50 crores net. The film has shown around a 50% drop from the first day when the first day itself was not good enough so the drop here is big. ## The first Monday collections will take the entire box office collections to over 42cr net mark in four days which is poor collections for a film of this magnitude. The film has underperformed clearly and even the appreciation of the film is very limited which makes the respectable lifetime number way more difficult.## The first week of business of the film is heading for a 60 crores net depending upon the drops. The budget is not huge but still, it's a big film due to the star cast and buzz and these numbers are not at the level which was expected from the film.## The gangster genre films have never worked in Hindi belts on big levels. There were a few films like Vaastav and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai which tested smaller levels of success but that's about it. But those were different times as films need to run close to 8-10 weeks to emerge successful so even with a low start they could survive but now it's all about initials and when a film fails to get much-needed initials, the respectable lifetime business becomes so hard due to very less.## Stay tuned...
