Arnold Schwarzenegger Unharmed, Woman Injured In Car Crash

Los Angeles, Jan 22 (IANS) Hollywood action star and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger escaped unhurt from an auto accident in Brentwood, a Los Angeles suburb.## A woman is reported to have been rushed to the hospital after she suffered a head injury in the crash, but with minor bleeding, reports 'Variety'.## At the time of the crash, Schwarzenegger was driving his mega-SUV GMC Yukon, which rammed into a Toyota Prius at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Allenford Avenue, near the Riviera Country Club.## Two other cars at the intersection were also struck as a result of the collision.## A spokesperson for the actor confirmed that he was unhurt and was only concerned about the woman who was injured. Naga Shaurya's Upcoming Romantic Comedy Titled 'Krishna Vrinda Vihari'

Krishna's upcoming romantic comedy, featuring actor Naga Shaurya in the lead, has been titled 'Krishna Vrinda Vihari'.## The makers of the film released the title and the first look on the occasion of the actor's birthday on Saturday.## Produced by Ira Creations, the film has music by Mahati Swara Sagar and cinematography by Sai Sriram.## Krishna and Vrinda are the character names of the lead pair in the film. In the first look poster, Naga Shaurya can be seen with a 'niluvu bottu' (vertical tilak) and 'gandham' (sandalwood paste). He can be seen sprinkling water with a betel leaf, which is usually done as part of Hindu rituals.## Unlike his roles in previous films, Naga Shaurya will be seen playing a funny character in this one. Chennai, Jan 22 (IANS) Director Nagesh Kukunoor's much-awaited Telugu film 'Good Luck Sakhi', featuring Keerthy Suresh and Aadhi in the lead roles, will finally hit screens on January 28 this year.## Keerthy Suresh confirmed the release of her film on Twitter. She tweeted: "We are so excited for you guys to see 'Good Luck Sakhi' in theatres near you from January 28".## The film's release has been postponed twice. It was originally supposed to hit screens on November 26. The release however got postponed to December 10.## Worth a Shot, the production house behind the film, then said that "due to unforeseen issues" the film would be "arriving on New Year's Eve (December 31, 2021)". Los Angeles, Jan 22 (IANS) Two fans of the Cuban-Spanish actress Ana de Armas, have filed a lawsuit against Universal Studios seeking a settlement of at least $5 million on behalf of affected consumers.## The lawsuit has been filed over false advertising, alleging that the fans were duped into renting the 2019 film 'Yesterday' because the trailer gave them the impression that the actress would appear in the film, reports 'Variety'.## Conor Woulfe, 38, of Maryland, and Peter Michael Rosza, 44, of San Diego County, California, say they each paid $3.99 to rent the movie on Amazon Prime, only to discover that de Armas had been removed from the final cut of the film.## The lawsuit accessed by 'Variety' states: "Because consumers were promised a movie with Ana De Armas by the trailer for 'Yesterday', but did not receive a movie with any appearance of Ana de Armas at all, such consumers were not provided with any value for their rental or purchase".## 'Yesterday' stars Himesh Patel (most recently seen in 'Don't Look Up') as Jack Malik, a singer-songwriter who becomes the only person on Earth to remember 'The Beatles' after a supernatural occurrence.## He rockets to stardom after he claims the credit for the English rock band's songs. Los Angeles, Jan 21 (IANS) Musicians Dave, Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran, Holly Humberstone, Liam Gallagher, and Little Simz are among the first wave of performers revealed for this year's Brit awards, one of Britain's biggest music events.## The awards, which are scheduled to take place live at London's O2 Arena on February 8, will be aired on ITV and ITV Hub, and streamed for non-UK viewers via the Brits' YouTube channel, reports variety.com.## Despite a dip in numbers and the UK government's decision to ease restrictions, the country continues to register more than 100,000 new Covid cases and upward of 330 deaths daily as Omicron spreads.## To ensure a safe event, the Brit organizers are therefore asking artists, nominees, and all guests to show a negative lateral flow test on arrival to the venue. Fans will this year be offered to purchase stall seats on the arena floor, where nominated artists will also take their seats in an exclusive area.## Audience members will not be socially distanced but will be asked to wear their masks when not eating or drinking, or in their seats. They will be required to follow existing government guidance when traveling to the venue and adhere to rules set out by the event organizers.## The Brits are this year working with Blue Light Tickets where the emergency services are invited to enter a ballot to come to the show, following the gifting of tickets to NHS front-line workers in 2021.## Among the performers, British rappers Dave and Simbiatu Ajikawo, aka Little Simz, and their fellow Briton Sheeran have four nominations each. For Doja Cat, the best-selling female R&B and hip-hop star of last year, the Brits will mark her first UK performance. She has two Brit nominations this year.## Humberstone was named the Brits 2022 Rising Star winner in late 2021. Liam Gallagher will be returning to the Brits stage after his performance at the 2018 awards.## "I'm gonna be performing my new single Everything's Electric at the Brit Awards this year and I'd appreciate it if you stopped what you were doing and tuned in cheers", Gallagher tweeted on Friday.## Little Simz, said: "Thank you Brits. It's an honor to be nominated for four Brit Awards and I can't wait to be performing on the night too. I'm so happy and grateful the music has connected and resonated. Having long been touted to be the first black 007, the 'Luther' actor is confirmed to be "part of the conversation" for the new iteration of the famous British spy.## It's producer Barbara Broccoli herself who spilled the possibility of Elba joining the franchise, reports aceshowbiz.com.## "Well, we know Idris, we're friends with him, and he's a magnificent actor," she told Deadline.## "And, you know, it's been part of the conversation, but it's always difficult to have the conversation when you have someone in the seat". Broccoli, however, noted that they're in no rush to name Daniel Craig's replacement.## She shared: "I think we have decided that until 'No Time to Die' has had its run and Daniel has been able to, well, we've all been able to savor, reap the benefits of Daniel's wonderful tenure, we're not gonna think about, or talk about anybody else".## 'No Time to Die', which is billed as Craig's swan song in his role as 007, went on to become the second-highest grossing movie of the pandemic with $774 million worldwide after a long delay due to the Covid pandemic.## Despite the apparent struggle of the movie industry to convince audiences to return to theaters, Broccoli said she and other studio executives kept their faith in the irreplaceable attraction of cinemas.## "We believe in the power of the theatrical release and the cinema, and that's what we've always done, and that's what 'Bond' has always done, and we cannot agree to go PVOD, not only just for the health of our brand and our movie but we can't do that to the cinema industry," Broccoli said about having "No Time to Die" stick to its theatrical release.## "We can't do it to the exhibitors".## Stay tuned...

'Lucifer' Tops Nielsen's U.S. List of 2021's Most Streamed Original Series

Los Angeles, Jan 21 (IANS) 'Lucifer', a drama that debuted on the Fox broadcast network before becoming a Netflix show in 2018, topped Nielsen's list of the most-streamed original series of 2021 in the United States, reports 'Deadline'.## The 93 episodes of the series netted more than 18.3 billion minutes of streaming during the year, according to the measurement firm's year-end report. That put it well in front of the 16.4 billion notched up by 'Squid Game', but the Korean phenomenon had only nine episodes on Netflix in 2021.## Interestingly, reflecting the diversity of the U.S. audience, roughly 15 percent of the American viewers of 'Squid Game' watched the Korean-language original of the series.## In saving the show after it was canceled by Fox, according to 'Deadline', Netflix established a precedent that it has occasionally followed with other acquired properties that become popular on its platform. (A recent example was the former NBC series 'Manifest', which racked up almost 20 billion viewing minutes last year with just 42 episodes).## Three non-Netflix shows made the originals chart: 'The Handmaid's Tale' on Hulu, 'Ted Lasso' on Apple TV+ and 'Wandavision' on Disney+.## On the movie chart, 'Luca' recorded a decisive win, gathering about 10.6 billion minutes of viewing. Prajakta Koli Becomes UNDP India's First Youth Climate Champion

Mumbai, Jan 21 (IANS) Content creator and actress Prajakta Koli has become India's first UN Development Programme (UNDP) Youth Climate Champion under her partnership with the organization. ## The title has been conferred to her following her contribution towards mental health, women's rights and girl child education through various global social campaigns. ## UNDP aims to eliminate poverty, achieve sustainable growth, and scale-up human development in countries where it is required the most. ## As a part of her responsibilities now, Prajakta will be entrusted with interacting with young minds to raise awareness around climate crisis, global warming and biodiversity loss and their impacts, the tremors of which are being felt by all sections of the society, especially the poor and marginalized communities. ## Speaking on the occasion, Prajakta said in a statement: "I am extremely humbled and honoured to have been entitled with this unique responsibility to champion a cause that is close to my heart. As the very first UNDP India Youth Climate Champion, I would like to produce and participate in opportunities that propel conversations around climate action and the urgent measures we must take." ## Commenting on how youth can make a difference, her statement further read: "The youth need to be the torchbearers of this revolution and foot soldiers who will work towards the common goal of an enriched and empowered future where the human species doesn't become endangered. We have created this problem, but we can solve it too. With UNDP, I will strive to work with young minds across the globe to take appropriate measures for climate action." ## Welcoming Prajakta, Shoko Noda, Resident Representative, UNDP India says: "We are excited to have Prajakta on board as the UNDP India Youth Climate Champion. Young people are the leading voice to make the world more sustainable. Prajakta has a strong connect with millions of young Indians. I am sure her voice reaches the hearts of youth, and inspires them to take climate action." ## In the past, the content creator has spoken up on issues like body shaming and online bullying with 'Shameless' as part of her campaign #iPledgeToBeMe which came into force on World Mental Health Day in 2016. ## As a global ambassador for YouTube's 'Creators For Change' initiative, she drew the attention of people to trolling, female subjugation and homophobia through her campaign 'No Offence' which was showcased at the UN headquarters in New York on International Tolerance Day. ## In 2018, saw three initiatives and social cause partnerships from her, first with YouTube for Social Impact Girl's Education campaign, with Instagram on their Safer Internet Week campaign and with One.org for their Girl Education campaign. ## In 2019 she received an invite from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for their annual Goalkeepers Summit. ## Last year, she joined Google's Impact Challenge to aid grants to non-profits addressing economic inequities faced by women and girls. ##
