In the last few years, there has been a lot of emphasis on making biopics in the Indian film industries, especially the biopic of sports stars that have been liked by the people. To keep the trend of biopics continue, one of the leading South Indian actors, Vijay Sethupati was roped in to star in the former Sri Lankan cricketer and legend of the game, Muttiah Muralitharan's biopic.## Muralitharan, who is arguably the greatest spinner of all-time, claimed 800 Test wickets and the title of the biopic also resembles the number of wickets he took in the red-ball cricket. The film will be shot in India, Sri Lanka, UK, and Australia. The shoot is slated to start at the beginning of 2021 and is set to release at the end of next year. ## The legendary off-spinner said that Vijay Sethupati is the best-suited actor for this film that he will do wonders. "Once the script was ready, we thought the best fit for this movie is non-other than Vijay Sethupathi", said Muralitharan while speaking on Star Sports show Cricket Live.## "I think he is a very talented actor and he will nail the bowling expressions. I trust Vijay completely as he is one of the greatest actors and I have complete faith that he'll definitely do wonders for the film", Murali added. ## Speaking about Muralitharan, Sethupathi said as per IANS, "It's really nice to listen to his story and spend time with Murali sir. He is like a stamp, he makes a mark wherever he goes with his charming character and personality".## "I love his real-life because fans have seen him in matches on the field, but very few have got a chance to know Murli sir's personality off the field. He's very adorable and lovable. He's such a beautiful person and his story needs to be told", he added.## The film will be made primarily in the Tamil language and will be dubbed in all South Indian languages as well as Hindi, Bengali, and Sinhalese owing to Muralitharan and Sethupathi's popularity. Vikrant Massey has been one of the budding actors whose career is going up with each movie. While many Bollywood stars have been struggling to cope up with the covid-19 pandemic, Vikrant is one actor who gave three critically acclaimed films during this period with one more is set to release next month on Netflix. ## Aiming to take this streak to the next year, the actor said to have signed multiple films, including the Hindi remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj's 2017 action thriller Tamil hit, Maanagaram that starred Sriram Natarajan, Sundeep Kishan, and Regina Cassandra in the lead. ## As per the industry insiders, Vikrant has signed the movie and will start shooting in January next year after completing his current commitments. He will be seen reprising the role played by Sriram in the original film, of a small-town guy who comes to Chennai to attend an interview for a job in a BPO. ## The Hindi remake is said to be helmed by Santosh Sivan, who previously directed Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor's Ashoka (2001) along with a few more. Producer Boney Kapoor has acquired the Tamil remake rights of the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer 2019 superhit movie Article 15. As per the latest update, the Tamil remake of this social crime drama film will be helmed by the director Arunraja Kamaraj. ## The Tamil remake of Article 15 marks the second directorial of lyricist-singer-actor Arunraja Kamaraj. He made his directorial debut in 2018 with sports drama Kanaa. ## Udhayanidhi Stalin who previously worked in movies like Psycho, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, and others will be stepping into the shoes and reprise the lead role played by Ayushmann Khurrana in the original. Ayushmann had won a lot of appreciation for playing the upright police officer, battling caste politics, while solving the case of rape and murder of Dalit girls. ## The Tamil version will be presented by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP in association with the original producer Zee Studios. The film is inspired by true events and deals with Article 15 of the Constitution of India, which prohibits discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. It was released on 28 June last year. ## The Tamil remake of Article 15 is Boney Kapoor's third Tamil Production after the hugely successful Nerkonda Paarvai (the remake of Hindi movie Pink), starring Ajith in the lead role. Shahid Kapoor seems to become the first choice of the filmmakers and producers when it comes to the Hindi remake of the South Indian movies. After the blockbuster Kabir Singh that was the Hindi adaptation of the Telugu movie Arjun Reddy, Shahid Kapoor is currently working on Jersey which is also a remake of the Telugu movie with the same name that starred Nani in the lead role. ## Now, according to the Mid-Day report, the makers of the Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru starring Suriya has approached Shahid Kapoor for its Hindi remake to play the lead role. However, Shahid Kapoor is yet to give a nod for its Hindi adaptation. ## Regarding the Hindi remake and Shahid being approached for the role, a source revealed to the tabloid, “The film was always supposed to be made in multiple languages. Shahid enjoyed a mammoth hit in Kabir Singh last year, which was the Hindi adaptation of the Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy. So, he was the first choice of the makers. The actor is currently going through the script. After the leading man is locked, the team will zero in on the principal cast.”## Talking about the original Soorarai Pottru, it is an action-drama film directed by Sudha Kongara while Suriya and Guneet Monga have co-produced the film under the banners 2D Entertainment and Sikhya Entertainment.
