Warner Bros. 'Dune Part 2' To Re-Release In India And 'Interstellar' To Also Return; Date Announced

Mumbai, March 10 - Warner Bros. Pictures has announced the re-release of Academy Award-winning film Dune: Part 2 in India. The Denis Villeneuve's directorial sci-fi epic won the Best Sound and the Best Visual Effects Oscars at the 97th Academy Awards held recently. ## On Monday (March 10), the studio took to social media to announce that Dune 2 will re-release in Indian cinemas on March 14, also in IMAX. It will be a limited release for only 7 days, just like the studio's recently re-release title, Interstellar.## Originally released in March 2024, Dune 2 did decently at the Indian box office with a gross collection of 36+ crores ($4.10+ million). It was still among the top Hollywood grossers of the year in the country. It needs to be seen if it can cross 50 crores mark after the re-release.## Meanwhile, there are reports that Warner Bros. will also bring Interstellar back to Indian cinemas on March 14. It was a success in its recent repeat run with over 20 crores gross collection but due to the limited run of 7 days, fans have been asking for another round. James Cameron's 'Avatar: Fire And Ash' To Be The Longest Film In The Franchise

Los Angeles, March 9 - James Cameron's sci-fi epic Avatar: The Way of Water is among the longest films ever, with a theatrical runtime of 3 hours and 12 minutes. Well, the maverick filmmaker seems to be in no mood to make shorter films anymore, as his next is even longer. The third Avatar instalment - Avatar: Fire And Ash is set to be longer than The Way of Water, confirmed by the director himself. While the exact runtime is not revealed yet, Cameron revealed in an interview with Empire magazine that the next film will be a bit longer. The Avatar films are anyway longer than most of the Hollywood titles, as the first film of the franchise, released in 2009, was 2 hours and 58 minutes long and is the highest-grossing film in the history of the worldwide box office, while The Way of Water holds the record for the third biggest grosser ever. One can't expect less when it comes to Avatar movies, and unsurprisingly, the expectations are high from Fire And Ash, which debuts in cinemas worldwide later this year in December. Cameron has already hyped the movie by calling it better than the first two films, and it will be much higher in action. Russo Brothers Reveal Estimated Runtime of 'Avengers: Doomsday' And 'Avengers: Secret Wars'

Los Angeles, March 5 - Marvel Studios' highly-awaited Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars are fast approaching their releases. Doomsday will be the first to release in 2026, followed by Secret Wars in 2027, and the Russo Brothers, who are set to direct both, have revealed the estimated runtime of both films. ## Speaking to Collider's Steve Weintraub for their upcoming film, The Electric State, the director duo teased the runtime of their high-profile Marvel blockbusters. Both films will be longer than most of the Marvel movies. The longest-running film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Avengers: Endgame (182 minutes), was directed by Russos and it was their last MCU film.## Well, the upcoming Avengers movies may not necessarily be the longest films in the MCU but they are surely going to be the closest to the longest film as according to the directors, the first one (Doomsday) is two and a half, and the second one (Secret Wars) is three hours long.## Doomsday, which is scheduled to hit the big screen on May 1, 2026, will start filming this summer. As per Russos, it will be the most radical Marvel movie to date and the audience will be shocked to see it. 'Spider-Man 4' Gets A New Release Date

Los Angeles, February 22 - Last year, it was confirmed officially that Tom Holland would return to lead Spider-Man 4 and it was also revealed that Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton would take on the directing duties. ## Sony Pictures had scheduled this Marvel superhero movie for July 24, 2026, with filming to take place in the summer of this year. However, with the shoot yet to commence, the studio has pushed back the release date of the next Spider-Man movie by a week. ## The film will now be released on July 31, 2026. This change gives the film extra distance from the release of director Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, which also stars Holland and hits theatres on July 17, 2026. The gap between the two movies is still not big enough, hence, the trade is expecting another change in the release plans of Spider-Man 4. ## Spider-Man 4 will be the second Marvel Cinematic Universe release of 2026 after Avengers: Doomsday, which will be released two months earlier on May 1st. Spider-Man 4 will clash with Paramount's animated feature Paw Patrol 3, slated for the July 31 launch. Mumbai, January 11 - Christopher Nolan's epic sci-fi drama Interstellar is finally re-releasing In Indian cinemas after a delay of a couple of months due to Pushpa 2 - The Rule's nationwide dominance. ## Interstellar was supposed to be re-released in December last year with the US release to mark its 10th anniversary, but the makers had to postpone it as it didn't get enough IMAX screens in India. With Pushpa 2 slowing down, the Hollywood blockbuster gets a date. ## On Friday, January 10, Warner Bros. India took to social media to confirm that Interstellar would be re-released in India on February 7 in the original language and IMAX. It has seemingly been the most demanded Hollywood re-release in the country and the audience finally gets to experience this epic. ## Set in a dystopian future where Earth is suffering from catastrophic blight and famine, the film follows a group of astronauts who travel through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for mankind. Box Office: 'Mufasa - The Lion King' Tops 100 Crore Gross In India

Mumbai, December 29 - Disney's animated adventure Mufasa: The Lion King has topped 100 crores gross collection at the Indian box office, becoming the third Hollywood movie of 2024 to achieve the feat after Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Deadpool & Wolverine. ## Directed by Barry Jenkins, Mufasa crossed the 100 crores gross mark on its second Saturday (9th day) as EOD gross is expected to be 108+ crores (including 3D charges). The movie has benefitted from the voiceover of superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu in Hindi and Telugu languages.## The original English version of the film is the top contributor with around 39 crores gross, closely followed by Hindi with 37 crores gross while Telugu and Tamil have generated around 32 crores gross in 9 days. 'The Batman 2' Release Date Postponed

Los Angeles, December 28 - Warner Bros. Pictures has pushed back director Matt Reeves' The Batman 2 by a year and it will now arrive in 2027. The film is the follow-up to Reeves' The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson in the titular role. ## The superhero sequel was originally supposed to be released on October 2, 2026, but will now shift a year and debut on October 1, 2027, in Imax, Warner Bros. announced on Friday. The production of the film is expected to start next year.## Reeves' The Batman was released in March 2022 and grossed over $772 million at the worldwide box office, including $369 million domestically. Box Office: 'Mufasa - The Lion King' Heads For 100 Crore Gross In India

Mumbai, December 24 - Disney's animated adventure film Mufasa: The Lion King is heading towards 100 crores gross collection at the Indian box office. The film has weathered Pushpa 2 - The Rule Storm and has performed better than expected. ## Mufasa, the prequel to 2019's The Lion King, was expected to do well in India due to the franchise's popularity and the voiceover of superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu. However, the box office carnage of Pushpa 2 threatened Mufasa's prospects, which didn't happen. ## In 7 days so far, Mufasa has grossed around 88 crores (including 3D charges) in India which is a very good collection. It performed brilliantly on Christmas Day (December 25) and Boxing Day. The film is likely to enter the 100 crores gross club by Saturday. ## The Lion King grossed over 190 crores in collection in India in 2019. Mufasa, on the other hand, looks like will fall short of those numbers, however, it can go nearer to The Lion King, depending on how it performs during the weekdays and New Year week. ## Mufasa will be the third Hollywood title of 2024 to enter the 100 crores gross club at the Indian box office after Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (134+ crores gross) and Deadpool & Wolverine (169+ crores gross). Box Office: 'Mufasa - The Lion King' Underperforms With $122+ Million Worldwide Opening; Good In India

Mumbai, December 23 - Disney's animated adventure drama Mufasa: The Lion King was the number 1 movie at the worldwide box office this past weekend, however, it failed to match the high expectations and largely underperformed at the domestic and overseas box office. ## The Barry Jenkins' directorial prequel to The Lion King (2019) grossed just $35 million in its domestic (North America) opening weekend, well behind the industry's projection of $50+ million. Overseas also, the film didn't leave up to the expectations at $87.2 million for a worldwide cume of $122.2 million.## While the movie topped the global box office, it landed far behind pre-release expectations of $130 million overseas and $180 million globally. China was the biggest market for Mufasa with $7.8 million, followed by France with $7.7 million, and Mexico with $7.1 million. ## Meanwhile, the movie did well at the Indian box office, benefitting from the voiceover of superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu. In its 3-day opening weekend, the film grossed approximately 46 crores (including 3D charges). The original The Lion King grossed 65+ crores in India in its first weekend. ## Mufasa now hopes to regain the lost ground during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Pictures and DC Studios' Superman movie got off to an excellent start as the first trailer of James Gunn's directorial brought in a record viewership in the history of the studio, according to the filmmaker himself. ## Gunn announced on social media that the first trailer of Superman, starring David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel, scored 250+ million views across social media platforms in the first 24 hours. Marvel Confirms 'Black Panther 3 Is Officially In Development

Los Angeles, December 19 - Marvel Studios has officially put the third instalment of Black Panther in development with producer Nate Moore returning. Marvel boss Kevin Feige has confirmed the development in an interview with Deadline. ## "Nate has been a core member of our team since 2010, and his influence will continue to reverberate in our storytelling. Although we'll miss him a great deal, we look forward to watching what he does next while also having the good fortune of working with him in a new way on our next Black Panther movie", Feige said. ## The production timeline of Black Panther 3 is not yet known. After Robert Downey Jr., Marvel Brings Chris Evans On Board 'Avengers: Doomsday'

Los Angeles, December 10 - Marvel Studios is re-assembling its OG superheroes for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday after seemingly closing that chapter in the last Avengers film - Avengers: Endgame, back in 2019. ## After officially confirming Robert Downey Jr.'s big Marvel comeback, this time as a villain, to play Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027), Hollywood media has reported that Chris Evans who played Captain America, is also returning to the MCU. ## According to the report by Deadline, the role of Evans isn't entirely clear at this point but he in the Captain America costume seems less likely. However, the report states it wouldn't be a shock if he reprises that iconic role as Steve Rogers though Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson character will also return as Captain America. ## It is not that Evans hasn't featured in the MCU title after Endgame, the actor recently had a cameo in the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all-time, the MCU's Deadpool & Wolverine, as his character from the Fox/Marvel early aughts days, which are also pre-Captain America: Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four movies.## Deadline has also reported that apart from Downey Jr., and Evans, many other Marvel OG superheroes are expected to return for Doomsday.
