Vijay Sethupathi pitches in with aid for paralyzed co-actor

Chennai, March 12 (IANS) Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi paid a visit to actor Logesh who is currently paralyzed after a stroke and offered him monetary aid.## Logesh, a veejay, and actor, had appeared in a small scene in Vijay Sethupathy's "Naanum Rowdy Dhaan". He was paralyzed after suffering a stroke and his family was in need of financial aid for his surgery. That was when Vijay Sethupathi decided to help.## This is not the first time that the star has pitched in to help people. In 2017, Vijay Sethupathi donated Rs 50 lakh for the education of the needy. He donated the money to 774 Anganvadis in the Ariyalur district and 11 schools for the deaf in Tamil Nadu. He decided to donate the amount in the memory of a late student from Ariyalur district named Anitha, who scored 1,176 out of 1,200 marks in her Class XII State Board examinations but ended her life because of insufficient scores in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).## On the film front, Vijay Sethupathi will be making his Hindi film debut in the Aamir Khan-starrer "Laal Singh Chaddha" in December. The actor has reportedly been asked to lose 25 kilos for the role, and he is said to be playing an army man. The role requires him to look fit.## A few weeks ago, Vijay Sethupathi wrapped up the shoot of his film, "Master", which stars Vijay in the lead. On the final day of the shoot, a picture of Vijay Sethupathi kissing Vijay on the cheek went viral on social media.## Executive producer Jagadish shared the picture and wrote: "Been a wonderful few months and it comes to a closure -- 'Master' shoot wrapped up!! Arya's latest is first Tamil film to use Indian animation

Chennai, March 11 (IANS) Tamil star Arya's new film 'Teddy', directed by Shakti Soundarajan, is in the news for a special reason. 'Teddy' becomes the first Tamil film to use an Indian company to design a special animated character.## It also becomes the second Tamil film to use motion-capture technology, to bring to life a teddy bear.## In an interview, Director Soundarajan said: "Unlike the Rajinikanth's 'Kochadaiiyaan', ours isn't an animated movie. The technology has been used only for one particular character. We roped in an artist to bring a special character, which will appear for 80 minutes, live on screen."## His previous film "Tik Tik Tik", a space-based theme, was also heavy on animation.## Motion capture or mo-cap refers to the process of recording movements of objects or people. The specialists place sensors all over an actor. The sensor then tracks their movements, allowing them to be mapped on a computer screen in real-time. Animators then create a virtual set for the movement to take place in. Director Shankar first used a form of mo-cap and 3D holograph for the song ''Kannodu Kanbathellam'' in Jeans (1998).## A few weeks ago, the makers released the song "En iniya thanimaye' from the film, which is a one-of-its-kind 3D lyrical video. The viral song has music composed by Imaan, lyrics by Madhan Karky and has been sung by Sid Sriram. Set to be released in summer 2020, the film features real-life couple Sayyeshaa and Arya.## Meanwhile, Arya is preparing for director Pa Ranjith's next film. It is speculated that he will play the role of a boxer who hails from north Chennai. He even shared a video of his chiseled body. He posted a video of his workout on Twitter stating: "Ranjith sir, all set! My love for sports coming alive on screen All set to face the boxers in the ring with @beemji sir for our next. Dhanush to collaborate with filmmaker brother Selvaraghavan next

Chennai, March 7 (IANS) Tamil superstar Dhanush will collaborate with his brother, director Selvaraghavan, for 'Pudhupettai 2'. The director, who last year made 'NGK' with superstar Suriya, revealed the big news about his next film with Dhanush while speaking at a college event.## "The next film after 'NGK' that I will be doing is with Dhanush. While we were discussing what film we can do, we have decided to do 'Pudhupettai 2'," Selvaraghavan said at the event.## "Pudhupettai" is a 2006 release that traces the journey of a young guy who joins a gang, becomes the gang leader and then goes on to be a politician.## Last year, Dhanush too confirmed the possibility of "Pudhupettai 2" at a college cultural festival. Now that his brother Selvaraghavan has confirmed the idea, it looks like the film will take off after all.## Dhanush will work on the film after wrapping up his Bollywood film "Atrangi Re", directed by "Raanjhanaa" maker Anand L. Rai. The film also stars Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and budding actress Sara Ali Khan.## The actor has also completed shooting for director Mark Selvaraj's "Karnan".## Dhanush made his film debut in 2002 with "Thulluvadho Ilamai" directed by his father Kasthuri Raja and screenplay by Selvaraghavan. Since then, the duo has worked together in "Kadhal Kondein", "Pudhupettai" and "Mayakkam Enna". Ajith to take legal action against fake news perpetrator

Chennai, March 7 (IANS) Actor Ajith Kumar will take legal action against perpetrators who forged his signature and published fake news about him. On March 6, a letter, duly 'signed by' the Ajith, declared that the Tamil superstar will re-join social media.## The news has irked Ajith and his legal counsels, Anand and Anand, have issued a statement on his behalf. The letter states: "Our client has issued a public notice in the past, and has on repeated occasions maintained that, he does not have any social media accounts, and that he does not have or support any official fan page on any stream of social media."## The letter also said: "Our client would like to state that necessary and appropriate legal action would be taken to the fullest extent possible against the perpetrator who issued the false notice and forged our client's signature."## Popularly known as ‘Thala' among fans, Ajith Kumar maintains a low profile and doesn't even attend film events. His films in 2019 "Viswasam" and "Ner Konda Paaravai" were blockbusters. The actor is currently working on H. Vinoth's "Valimai", produced by Boney Kapoor.## Recently, Ajith was spotted with producer Boney Kapoor at Sridevi's Chennai residence in Mylapore, the video of which is doing the rounds on social media. He even obliged selfies-seeking fans outside the residence. Vishal's new film Chakra to release on May 1

Chennai, March 6 (IANS) Tamil star Vishal's first release of 2020 is going to be 'Chakra', which will hit screens on May 1.## Directed by MS Anandan, 'Chakra' also stars Shraddha Srinath and Regina Cassandra. The pictures from the film were released recently, and it seemed to show Vishal and Shraddha in intense avatars. The pictures taken in a police station suggest that they will be playing sincere individuals, who are on a mission to unlock a mystery. It is said to be a cyber-crime thriller.## In November 2019, the title and the first look posters were released by filmmaker Gautham Menon on his social media handle.## Speaking to Times Of India, director Anandan shared how he pitched the film to Vishal "I was so nervous the night before meeting him. It was a big opportunity for me, and I didn't want to waste it. But the way Vishal treated me boosted my confidence. He quietly listened to the whole story and didn't even take a coffee break in-between'. He said, "The story is good and the characterizations are strong. Don't change anything for me." He believes in the script and doesn't believe in promoting the hero and downgrading the villain. I think both of them have to be equally strong if the face-off sequences have to come out well." Shraddha Srinath said "When I shot my opening sequence, I was so nervous. I thought it would look unnatural for me to do stunts. I was wondering if I was even physically fit to do it. But Anbariv masters were so good. I've seen the edited scene, and I''m so excited to see the film for my own action sequence!"## The team had completed a schedule in Coimbatore then in Chennai. "Chakra" is said to have Vishal playing the role of an army officer. The music of the film is by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Balasubramaniem. Dhanush's next not based on Kodiyankulam caste riots: Director

Chennai, March 5 (IANS) Tamil superstar Dhanush's upcoming film 'Karnan' is not about Kodiyankulam caste riots, the film's director Mari Selvaraj has clarified, in a recent interview to the Tamil publication Vikatan.## Controversy erupted since it was speculated that ''Karnan'' is about the 1995 Kodiyankulam Maniyachi communal clash. The crew of the film was even threatened to stop shooting in Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi or face consequences. Members of the political party Mukkulathor Pulipadai demanded that the permission for the shoot be cancelled. The organisation's leader, actor-turned-politician Karunas, even went on to say that the film is overtly critical of a particular community, and portraying a similar episode might disturb peace in the region. Party members also urged the police to arrest the director.## In an unrelated controversy, fans of late actor Sivaji Ganesan had earlier requested the film's producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu to change the film's title because Sivaji's 1964 mythological film had the same title.## Chandrasekharan, President of Sivaji Social Welfare Association, wrote a letter to the producer stating: "We all know that Karnan is legendary Sivaji Ganesan sir's classic film. Now we have come to know that your film with Dhanush is titled as Karnan. It would be great if you could add a prefix or suffix instead of using the exact title of Sivaji's classic film. It hurts the sentiment of ardent fans."## Although the producer still hasn't changed the film's title, Dhanush recently took to his social media account to declare that he has completed 90 percent of the film's shoot. He shared the news with a photograph from the film, which showed him holding a sickle in his hand. Fans were quick to notice that his look was similar to his recent hit "Asuran", and expressed their anticipation for ''Karnan''## Said to be an action entertainer, which is set in Tirunelveli, the film also stars Malayalam actress Rajisha Vijayan as the female lead, cinematographer-turned-actor Natarajan aka Natty and Malayalam actor Lal among others.## "Karnan'' will release in mid-2020.## Meanwhile, Dhanush's film by director Karthik Subbaraj titled ''Jagame Thandhiram'', has been wrapped. The film will release on May 1. Kamal Haasan summoned by police in connection with 'Indian 2' accident

Chennai, March 3 (IANS) Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan was summoned by the Central Crime Branch police in connection with the crane accident at "Indian 2" shooting where three persons were killed and 12 injured at the spot.## Three technicians -- Madhu, Chandran, and Krishna -- were killed and 12 others injured after the crane fell on them while constructing the sets at the EVP Film City near here on February 19 night.## Lead actor Kamal Haasan, female lead Kajal Aggarwal, as well as Director Shankar himself, had a providential escape that night.## The police are summoning people who were present at the accident spot for an enquiry to ascertain the reason for the accident. Ajith celebrates on son Aadvik's birthday in style

Chennai, March 2 (IANS) Tamil superstar Ajith, who is currently shooting for director H. Vinoth's 'Valimai', recently took a break from his hectic schedule for a special occasion. Ajith along with wife Shalini, family and friends gathered to celebrate the birthday of his son Aadvik Ajith Kumar. ## The pictures from the event which went viral on social media, feature Ajith looking dapper in a suit, while Aadvik looks cute in a special costume that resembles a shark. The two are surrounded by Aadvik's young friends, with an aquarium in the backdrop. Ajith's mother Mohini is also seen in the video. ## If Ajith is known as Thala to fans, Aadvik is fondly called Kutty Thala. He was born on March 2, 2015. Chennai, March 2 (IANS) Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has said that he would do whatever possible within his capacity to bring peace in the country. ## In a tweet late Sunday, Rajinikanth said he was happy to meet the officials of Tamil Nadu Jamathul Ulama Sabai (TNJUS) and hear their views. ## "I second their views that love, unity and peace should be the main goal of a country," he said. ## Earlier on Sunday, TNJUS members met Rajinikanth and apprised him of issues related to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Population Register (NPR) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC). ## According to K.M.
