Rajkumar Rao And Bhumi Pednekar's 'Badhaai Do' Cleared To Release In UAE Excluding Sharjah

Mumbai, February 12 - Rajkumar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer "Badhaai Do" has been cleared to release in the United Arab Emirates, however, it will not be screened in Sharjah. ## "Badhaai Do", which revolves around a lavender wedding of convenience, has been permitted to screen only night shows in the rest of the parts of the UAE apart from Sharjah, for people aged over 21 years. ## The LGBTQ+ theme movies and shows are not acceptable in Middle East countries. Last year, Marvel Studios' "Eternals", directed by Chloe Zhao, was banned in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Jordan, because of the refusal of its makers to delete certain gay-themed scenes. The UAE, however, had allowed the film's release. ## Although 'Badhaai Do' has no obvious expressions of same-sex love, as in the case of the 'Eternals' characters Ben and Phastos kissing each other, it clearly has an LGBTQ+ theme, which is not acceptable in the Middle East.## In an interview with PTI, "Badhaai Do" director Hashvardhan Kulkarni said that the film is an attempt to normalize the discourse around the queer community and break certain stereotypes attached with their representation in cinema.## Produced by Junglee Pictures, "Badhaai Do", which is the sequel to 2018's "Badhaai Ho", released theatrically on February 11.## Stay tuned...

Gehraiyaan Digital Premiere: Amazon Prime Video Paid Rs. 100 Crores To Grab Deepika Padukone's Modern Relationship Drama Film

Mumbai, February 11 - Dharma Productions' romantic drama, "Gehraiyaan", starring Deepika Padukone has been released on Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Shakun Batra, the complex modern relationship drama film is being loved by the critics and OTT audience alike. ## Originally made for the theatrical release, the makers changed their plans and collaborate with Amazon Prime Video for the wide reach of the film and sold the streaming rights in the range of Rs. 100 crores, according to industry insiders. It is said that the movie cost approx Rs. 70 crores to the makers. ## The direct-to-digital amount of "Gehraiyaan" has made it the biggest deal for a woman-centric film and one of the highest for a Bollywood movie. The Kabir Khan-directed grossed approx Rs. 1.50 crores in its 7th weekend, pushing total domestic haul to Rs. 125 crores. ## The domestic box office of "83" is poor considering the fact that the movie cost over Rs. 220 crores in production. Overseas, "83" is the biggest Indian movie, released during the covid-19 pandemic. After 45 days, it has grossed approx Rs. 64 crores. The total worldwide gross for the film currently stands at Rs. 189 crores. ## Produced by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Reliance Entertainment, "83" may be a disappointing outing, it has still surpassed many Bollywood biggies at the worldwide box office. Alia Bhatt's Darlings Sold To Netflix For Rs. 80 Crores

Mumbai, February 7 - Alia Bhatt who is next going to be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Magnum opus Gangubai in a titular character, has been in the news for many reasons lately. As she is gearing up for the worldwide theatrical release of Gangubai on 25th February, according to Pinkvilla, her upcoming film Darlings has been sold to Netflix for 80crs.## Darlings is an upcoming film that marks Alia Bhatt's debut as a producer along with Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment will see a direct to digital premiere on Netflix this summer. The film is in the post-production stage and is ready to be released in the summer according to the same source. ## Talking of Darlings, it's said to be a dark comedy about a mother-daughter relationship. Shefali Shah will be seen playing Alia’s mother in the film whereas Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew also feature in key roles. Darlings are directed by Jasmeet K Reen with Vishal Bharadwaj on board as the music composer. ## Alia Bhatt has a huge lineup of films. Her titular character-backed film Gangubai is all set for the 25th February release then her next release would be RRR alongside Jr. NTR and Ram Charan. There is a film with Ranveer Singh as well which is being directed by famous Bollywood director Karan Johar. Sanjay Dutt Launches His Production Company In A Bid To Bring The Heroism Culture Back In Bollywood

Mumbai, February 7 - Sanjay Dutt is one of the few actors who truly believe that theatrical experience is the real cinema and the heroism culture, which is slowly diminishing in Bollywood, is the backbone of it. And now, the Bollywood star is putting his efforts to bring back the golden age of heroism to the industry.## Sanjay Dutt, who has acted in several films since his debut with "Rocky" in 1981, has launched his production company, Three Dimension Motion Pictures, in an attempt to bring the heroism culture back in Bollywood. ## Giving the examples of the recent pan-Indian box office success of larger-than-life heroic South Indian films, "Pushpa - The Rise" and SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali" films in Hindi, Sanjay Dutt told Variety, "We're trying to get back what we had, what the South Indian films are doing now".## When we entered the film industry, we started off with heroism, heroic roles, mass love, and everything, and I just saw that stopping. And I am trying to revive that. The golden age – it just can't die. Even if you look at Hollywood, it exists there, and in the South. I don't know what happened to Bollywood. But that's what we're trying to get back – those days of heroism", he added.## The first film in Dutt's Three Dimension Motion Pictures is a horror-comedy, "The Virgin Tree", to be directed by Sidhaant Sachdev, and will have a cast of four newcomers. While the other projects are not titled yet, it includes a family drama, some action films with younger actors, and some more action films with a mature man as a hero.## All the films in Three Dimension Motion Pictures are meant to be released in theaters only. 25 Years of Cult Classic Judwaa

Mumbai, 7th Feb 2022: Judwaa starring Indian Megastar Salman Khan was released 25 years ago on this day. It was an eid holiday weekend and it emerged as a big hit all across the country. There were big strikes just days before the release of this movie nationwide because of the Entertainment Tax issue. But this didn't go on to impact the performance of the film in theatres. ## It emerged as a path breaker in the comedy genre which set the tone for future comedy movies. It features Karishma Kapoor, Rambha alongside Salman khan as the leads. The supporting cast consisted of veteran actors Kader Khan and Anupam Kher. The movie faced a clash in the form of Nana Patekar starer Yashwant but it didn't impact Judwaa much. Both movies became successful, but Judwaa became more. ## Judwaa after successfully overcoming the clash played a major role in consolidating the fan base of Salman Khan in the rural areas. The film received an excellent opening and did business of 13 Cr Nett with footfalls of 1.36 Cr. ## Judwaa was the Tenth highest-grossing movie of Bollywood in that year (1997). Govinda was initially approached for the lead role but he rejected the role which lead the makers to approach Salman khan and eventually cast him for the lead role. His performance was highly appreciated and celebrated by the critics as well as the audiences. ## Judwa was the 9th clean hit movie in the career of Salman Khan and his first major hit in the comedy genre. 20 year's later a sequel to this movie titled Judwa 2 was released in 2017. It featured Varun Dhawan And Tapsee Pannu in the lead roles. ## It did excellent business at the box office and emerged as a clean hit. Sanjay Dutt On What Makes South Indian Film Industry Better Than Bollywood

Mumbai, February 7 - Bollywood stars Sanjay Dutt joins the actors and filmmakers who are praising the South Indian film industry for keeping the audience excited about the theatrical experience, which Bollywood is continuously failing to provide. ## For the last few years, South Indian films have been spreading their wings in the Hindi market and getting the desired results. The thing is that the South Indian industry is superstar-driven which can easily be seen in the box office results while the same is not happening in Bollywood on large scale. ## Sanjay Dutt, meanwhile, blames the involvement of corporate structure in vanishing the heroism in Bollywood while in the South, he feels that the same thing does not exist which has worked for them. "I feel that this whole corporate structure coming and encroaching our space in Bollywood ruined everything", Dutt told Variety. ## "Their business is funding and that's where the business ends. But once you start interfering in the script and in the direction and in the budgets and this and that, then things go haywire, and that's why I think we (Bollywood) lost out on a lot of good stuff during that time". ## "Whereas in the South, this corporate structure does not exist. There are people who, from the production or from the producer, to the director, to everybody involved in the team… they're passionate about making good films and that is the thing which has worked for them. And that has gone against us because that passion for making movies or that passion of making something great and working and performing is gone", he added.## Sanjay Dutt cited the recent pan-Indian box office success of South Indian film "Pushpa - The Rise" and the films of "Baahubali" filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli as examples of the vanished larger-than-life heroism in Bollywood.## On the work front, Sanjay Dutt has multiple big-ticket films ready for release. He plays the main antagonist in the upcoming Pan-India biggie, "KGF: Chapter 2", starring Yash as the protagonist. Scheduled to release on April 14, "KGF 2" is sure going to be a mega-hit in Hindi. Mumbai, Feb 6, 2022: Veteran Indian singer Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the age of 92 on February 6 morning due to the multiple organ failure which made the entire country sad and how! ## Lata Mangeshkar's first Hindi song was "Mata Ek Sapoot Ki Duniya Badal De Tu" for the Marathi film Gajaabhaau (1943). Her first breakthrough hit was "Dil Mera Toda, Mujhe Kahin Ka Na Chhora"—lyrics by Nazim Panipati—in the movie Majboor (1948). ## Lata Mangeshkar entered into the 1950s and all the biggest hit albums belonged to her.
