Ranbir Kapoor Locked To Headline YRF's Action Thriller 'Dhoom 4'

Mumbai, September 28 - Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor has reportedly been locked to headline Yash Raj Films' hugely anticipated action thriller Dhoom 4. The movie was officially announced many moons back and it is finally moving ahead with the pre-production stage. ## According to a report by Pinkvilla, the 4th instalment of the blockbuster franchise has entered the pre-production stage now at YRF under the supervision of Aditya Chopra. Ranbir Kapoor, who is riding on the monstrous success of Animal, is the newest addition to headline the franchise. ## "The discussions with Ranbir have been going on for the longest time. He had always shown interest in being a part of Dhoom 4 on hearing the basic idea and is now finally confirmed to lead the franchise. Adi Chopra feels that RK is the ideal choice to carry forward the Dhoom legacy", says the report. ## Ranbir will play the anti-hero and it is said that none of the original cast will return as Dhoom 4 is a reboot in the literal sense. In the previous three films, John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan, and Aamir Khan took on the negative roles, respectively, which has been a driving force of the Dhoom franchise. ## Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra have been a part of each Dhoom movie as cop buddies but Dhoom 4 will feature two big heroes from the younger generation to replace them. It is, in fact, now the biggest single-language grosser at the Indian box office. ## Jawan, however, remains the biggest Bollywood grosser of all time in India with 640 crores net collection in all versions. Stree 2 is the first 3 crore footfall title for the entire major cast and crew along with Maddock Film and Jio Studio.## Post the COVID-19 pandemic, Stree 2 is the 8th film to sell 30 million or more tickets at the Indian box office, after RRR, KGF: Chapter 2, Pathaan, Gadar 2, Jawan, Animal, and Kalki 2898 AD.
