Salman Khan's 'Sikandar' Sets For The Biggest Bollywood Release In India; Opening Day Box Office Expectations

Mumbai, March 29 - Superstar Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna's hugely-awaited action drama Sikandar is all set to hit the big screen on March 30, Sunday. The film, directed by AR Murugadoss, is releasing a day before Eid which falls on Monday, March 31. ## Sikandar is the first full-fledged release for Salman since Tiger 3 on Diwali 2023, and the makers are treating it as a big opportunity to score at the box office. According to the reports, Sajid Nadiadwala's production is set to be the biggest Bollywood release in India. ## It is said that Sikandar will be released on over 5500 screens across the country and will get 22,000+ shows, which is the highest ever for a Bollywood title. Currently, there are over 19K shows listed online, and around 3K more shows will be added in theatres where online booking is not available. ## The advance booking sales of Sikandar have been progressing at a slow pace, though it has picked up some momentum in the last day before release. As of 8 PM on March 29, the film has sold around 300K tickets worth around 9 crores gross (without block seats), which is currently the second biggest of 2025, behind Chhaava.## Though the advances of Sikandar are currently lagging behind Chhaava, it still has a chance to come close with a little push. Chhaava had a regular Friday release while Sikandar releases on Sunday, which gives it an advantage when it comes to spot booking, especially with the holiday on Monday. ## Chhaava opened with 31 crores net collection in Hindi, and Sikandar, which has bigger star power and a festive release, is likely to match or top this recent mega blockbuster. While the pre-sales trend indicates 25-30 crores net opening, Sikandar is expected to have strong spot booking, which is likely to take it past 30+ crores net and beyond, which is a good start. ## The film would have benefited more had it been a traditional Friday release, though the opening might not have been as big as its Sunday launch. CBI Files Closure Report In Actor Sushant Singh Rajput's Death Case

Mumbai, March 23 - The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has concluded its investigation and has filed the closure report into the mysterious death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, according to PTI. The report was submitted to a special court in Mumbai, which will now decide whether to accept it or order further investigation. ## Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai, on June 14, 2020, at the age of 34. The CBI has determined that the actor's death was a case of suicide, with no evidence of foul play or criminal conspiracy. The CBI took over the case in August 2020 from the Bihar Police after the Supreme Court ordered it to conduct a thorough probe since there were conflicting reports of the Patna and Mumbai Police.## Subsequently, Sushant's father KK Singh lodged an FIR with the Patna Police in Bihar accusing actor Rhea Chakraborty and others of abetting his son's suicide. A counter-complaint by Chakraborty against Rajput's family was also investigated. The closure report addresses both cases, finding no substantiation for the allegations made by either party. Forensic experts from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) supported the CBI's conclusion.## The investigation involved recording statements from Chakraborty and others close to Rajput, as well as examining medical and forensic evidence, including a laptop, camera, and mobile phones. Despite extensive scrutiny, no evidence emerged to suggest anyone drove Rajput to suicide or that his death involved foul play. The report effectively clears Rhea Chakraborty, her family, and others named in the initial FIRs, ending a high-profile case that sparked widespread speculation and media attention.## The Mumbai Police had initially treated the death as a suicide, finding no signs of forced entry or a suicide note. However, the case gained significant traction after Rajput's family pursued legal action, leading to CBI involvement. While the closure report marks the agency's final stance, Rajput's family retains the option to file a protest petition if they disagree with the findings. The movie will run in theatres for a minimum of 8 weeks before it is made available on OTT, however, even before the deadline, it has been hit by massive piracy and the investigation has begun for the same. ## According to the reports, Chhaava's HD prints have been leaked online and the Mumbai Police is said to have registered a case in this matter. The movie was deliberately leaked online through pirated sites on more than 1800 digital links. This isn't the first time a Bollywood film has leaked before its official digital release as there have been many such cases in the past. ## It is said that producer Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films anticipated this illegal activity and reportedly hired an anti-piracy agency to handle this matter legally. YRF Confirms 'War 2' Release Date Amid Postponement Rumours

Mumbai, March 15 - Yash Raj Films has officially confirmed the release date of the highly-anticipated spy action thriller War 2 amid the rumours of its postponement. There were rumours that it might get postponed but the studio has put them to rest once and for all. ## Starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, War 2 will hit the big screens on August 14, 2025, in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages.
