Kangana Ranaut Opens Up On Directing 'Emergency' Movie

Mumbai, July 17 - Bollywood actress and filmmaker, Kangana Ranaut has taken a huge task into her hands to direct one of the key historical moments in Indian politics, the period of Emergency. The first look teaser of the movie was unveiled a couple of days and it got anonyms positive response from one and all and it started to trend at number 1 on YouTube. ## Kangana Ranaut, apart from directing and producing the film, is also playing the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. "Emergency" marks Kangana's second directorial venture after Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, and she is looking super confident with the upcoming film as well. "Manikarnika" was a successful outing at the box office and Kangana is hoping for the same with "Emergency" as well as she believes that her instinct as a filmmaker will pay off big time. ## During the latest interview, Kangana opened up about donning the directorial hat for the second time and said, "My last directorial was Manikarnika, and I got an encouraging response from the audience as it was a blockbuster. I was tempted to direct another film but I had many acting assignments to complete. I do believe that I know the pulse of the audience who is looking for something which will stimulate their intellectual side and not just their sensual side". ## "The Emergency is an undeniable part of recent history and I feel that this will click with the audience. Since the teaser has dropped it's been trending at number 1, it has taken the nation by storm and it is a validation of the fact that this is what people are starved for. Ali Abbas Zafar To Co-Produce and Direct Hindi Remake of 'The Transporter'

Mumbai, July 16 - A few weeks ago, it was reported that filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar has acquired the Hindi remake rights of Jason Statham-fronted Hollywood actioner The Transporter (2002). And now, as per the latest reports, Ali will also direct this big-budget flick. ## It is said that Ali has been wanting to make the Hindi remake of this English-language French action thriller and bought the rights from EuropaCorp some two months ago. Apart from directing the movie, Ali will co-produce it with Vishal Rana and a big studio is expected to collaborate as well, according to ETimes. ## The original starred Jason Statham as Frank Martin, a driver for hire—a mercenary "transporter" who will deliver anything, anywhere, no questions asked—for the right price. It also starred Shu Qi as Lai Kwai.## Ali Zafar is currently busy with the pre-production work of "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. It will go on floors in January next year. Once Ali is done with BMCM, he will start working on "The Transporter" and is likely to bring a young actor to play the lead role. ## Meanwhile, the filmmaker already has a film with Shahid Kapoor ready to release. It is an action thriller, tentatively titled "Bloody Daddy", and marks Shahid and Ali's maiden collaboration. The comedy-drama film, which is the remake of the Malayalam hit "Driving License", was announced in January this year amid much fanfare. ## Since the announcement of the movie, there have been speculations that it would be a direct-to-digital release via Disney Plus Hotstar. The shooting of the film was recently concluded and now, the makers have finalized the release date.
